Vettel confirms ‘talks' with Marko over succeeding him at Red Bull
Four-time F1 World champion Sebastian Vettel has admitted that he has spoken with Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko about potentially succeeding the Austrian in his position at some point in the future.
Speaking to Sport am Sonntag podcast, Vettel explained: 'There have been a few headlines recently. I still get along great with Helmut, and we're in contact regarding the topic.
'[Talks are] not yet that intensive or in-depth, it's perhaps something that could play a role. In what form remains to be seen.'
The 37-year-old added that Marko is 'irreplaceable' and expressed his hope that the 82-year-old remains in his role for the foreseeable future.
'He's irreplaceable. Let's just leave it at that,' Vettel added. 'His character alone... and he's made a very, very significant contribution to what the entire team has achieved over the years since 2005. And perhaps it wouldn't even be the goal to have someone replace him.

'He's said a few times that he's going to quit, but he's still here. I hope he stays with us for a long time. But of course, at some point, things will inevitably move on, and he knows that. He's a brutal realist and can assess things quite well. He'll sense when the time is right.
'I have to admit, though, that I haven't been that close in recent years. But I do think I know what he's doing. And no matter what happens, there's still a lot to learn from him.'
The German driver enjoyed the peak success of his Formula 1 career with Red Bull, bringing the team their first four Drivers' and Teams' titles in a dominant run between 2010 and 2013 before his much talked about switch to Ferrari.
After a moderately successful stint at the Italian team, Vettel moved to Aston Martin before departing the grid following the 2022 season, bowing out of F1 with a total of 53 wins, 122 podiums and 57 pole positions under his belt.

Tennis-Alcaraz, Sinner would benefit from new Big Three, McEnroe says
By Rory Carroll HT Image June 25 - The emergence of a third young star to challenge the supremacy of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner would push the duo's already scintillating rivalry to new heights, tennis great John McEnroe said. Alcaraz and Sinner are coming off a French Open final for the ages and head into next week's Wimbledon having evenly split the last six majors between them. "It's going to be an interesting time to see if there's another player or two who can break in with those two the way Novak did when he was trying to get to the same level as Roger and Rafa ," McEnroe told reporters on Wednesday. "It shows you what type of a player he was that he was able to do that. But right now, there's a void." Djokovic, Federer and Nadal enjoyed a two-decade stranglehold on men's tennis and their era of dominance was made even richer by the three-sided nature of the rivalry. In a Roland Garros showdown of unsurpassed quality, 22-year-old Alcaraz of Spain saved three successive match points to battle back from two sets down and beat the Italian in the longest French Open final in history. Miami Open champion Jakub Mensik, 19, and 18-year-old Brazilian Joao Fonseca are two teenagers McEnroe could envision breaking into the Alcaraz-Sinner rivalry, as well as big-serving American Ben Shelton. "One of those two guys or Ben would be my choice right now," said seven-time Grand Slam champion McEnroe. "I think it would be important to get another guy or two to add to the mix. That would be really helpful." McEnroe said the future of men's tennis is in great hands provided Alcaraz, who is seeking a hat-trick of Wimbledon titles next month, and world number one Sinner stay healthy. "It was unheard of what we watched over the last 20 years and you can make the argument that what we're seeing now is even faster and different from what we saw even five years ago," he said. "I can't wait to see what it's going to be like in 10 years, or five years even." This article was generated from an automated news agency feed without modifications to text.

FIFA Club World Cup 2025: Inter vs River Plate live time and streaming
Two of football's most storied clubs, Inter Milan and River Plate, are set to clash for the first time in a pivotal FIFA Club World Cup group stage encounter. Inter Milan opened their campaign with a narrow win over Urawa Red Diamonds but looked far from the sharp side that reached the UEFA Champions League final just weeks ago. Despite the unconvincing performance, the Italian side remains in control of its knockout stage fate. River Plate, meanwhile, delivered a dominant display in their opening match against Monterrey but were left frustrated after a hard-fought stalemate. The Argentine powerhouse currently leads Group E but faces its toughest challenge yet against Inter. Inter team news Cristian Chivu's tenure as Inter Milan boss has gotten off to a shaky start. After a draw in their tournament opener against Monterrey, Inter narrowly edged past Urawa Red Diamonds thanks to a stoppage-time strike from Valentín Carboni in a must-win clash. Injuries have hampered the Nerazzurri's progress, with Marcus Thuram becoming the latest addition to their growing injury list. However, there's some relief on the horizon, as key players Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Davide Frattesi, and Denzel Dumfries are expected to return for this crucial encounter. Alessandro Bastoni is likely to be reinstated to the starting XI after being rested in the previous match, and veteran midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan may make his first start of the tournament. With qualification on the line, Chivu is unlikely to take further risks with his selection—he needs a win to keep Inter's hopes of advancing alive. River Plate team news Marcelo Gallardo faces a significant challenge as his key midfielders Kevin Castaño, Enzo Pérez, and Giulano Galoppo are all suspended for the upcoming match against Inter Milan. El Muñeco will need to rethink his midfield options, likely turning to a makeshift trio of Matías Kranevitter, Nacho Fernández, and Rodrigo Aliendro, unless he opts to adjust the team's formation. Regardless, River's midfield strength will be notably weakened against the Serie A giants. On the left wing, Maxi Meza, who came on for the injured Sebastián Driussi in the previous game, is expected to retain his spot after Miguel Borja's underwhelming performance in the second half. Defensively, Los Millonarios have been dependable recently. Paulo Díaz has claimed the starting role over Germán Pezzella and, alongside Lucas Martínez Quarta, helped River keep a clean sheet in the second half against Monterrey. River Plate will be aiming to avoid the disappointment experienced by their rivals Boca Juniors and secure a place in the knockout stages with a strong performance against Inter.
