USA Today4 days ago
It was a great Season 50 of Saturday Night Live, with some hilarious cold opens, funny moments on Weekend Update and so many guest stars. There was also the big SNL 50 celebration this year.
And if you're here, you might be getting ready to watch SNL on Saturday, August 2, 2025 and wondering: is it all new tonight? If not, is it a rerun? Who's hosting?
THE 15 BEST SKETCHES IN SNL HISTORY: Our rankings of the best of Saturday Night Live
The answer ... No. It's a rerun after the season finale months ago. NBC's site says we're getting the episode in which Quinta Brunson was the host and Benson Boone was the musical guest.
It'll be a while until we get a new episode, sadly, but at least we can rewatch the past season's funny episodes.
There you have it. Enjoy!
When is SNL Season 51 coming?
Reports say the season premiere of Season 51 will be October 4.
Who is leaving SNL? And who is joining the cast?
We haven't heard names that our out. We do know that Mikey Day is staying, and we haven't heard yet about any new comedians or actors who will be joining the cast this fall.

'SNL' alum Bill Hader reveals the reason behind his absence during anniversary special

Actor Bill Hader revealed the real reason that he did not attend the star-studded prime time special celebrating the 50th anniversary of 'Saturday Night Live.' Hint: It wasn't scheduling conflicts as previously stated by his representative. During an appearance Monday on 'Late Night With Seth Meyers,' Hader said that comedian Andy Samberg called with an idea for a digital short about the anxiety everyone on 'SNL' goes through. The star behind characters like Stefon said he told Samberg that he wasn't sure he wanted to do that because he's anxious. Instead, Bowen Yang starred in the short film that aired during the special. 'And he was great,' Hader said. Hader and Meyers both joked that another reason he did not make an appearance during the 'SNL' special was because he had "anxiety-caused shingles." The host quipped that if he would have attended the show he would have had 'double shingles.' Hader was an 'SNL' cast member for eight seasons between 2005 to 2013. Since leaving the show, he has been open about his mental health during his time at Studio 8H. Meyers said that his co-star on 'SNL' had a 'relentless list of maladies.' 'The top-10 weirdest things that happened to any cast member I ever worked with were all Bill Hader,' he said. Hader went on to talk about how he lost his vision because of his anxiety in his first season on the show. It happened while he was waiting backstage with co-star Jason Sudeikis, stuntman Johnny Knoxville and singer Neil Young for their sketch 'Appalachian Emergency Room.' The sketch went on, with Sudeikis taking Hader's lines and moving Hader to his mark. '[Sudeikis] was very sweet,' Hader told Meyers. Hader co-created and starred in the HBO hit show 'Barry' after leaving 'SNL.' He will next voice the title role in "The Cat in the Hat," an animated film set to be released in February. Biggest moments from the Last Culturistas Awards, the show for the meme age

Missed the biggest moments from the Last Culturistas Culture awards? I don't think so, honey! The ceremony, essentially one long bit hosted by "Saturday Night Live" star Bowen Yang and his podcast cohost Matt Rogers, aired on Bravo Tuesday, Aug. 5. With over 100 categories, it is the ultimate entertainment industry spoof, swapping competitions like "best supporting actress" for "excellence in lesbianism" (which was not won by an actual person but instead by "probably your grandma even though she was married to your grandpa for 50 years.") Once a smaller offshoot of Rogers and Yang's popular "Las Culturistas" podcast, the awards show, televised for the first time this year, appeared more like a bona fide Hollywood event than an inside-turned-outside joke. Filmed in July, the awards brought major stars like Allison Janey, Jeff Goldblum and Ben Platt to the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles. Here's a look at the biggest (and oddest) awards of the night. Eva Longoria Award for Tiny Woman, Huge Impact Winner: Quinta Brunson The "Abbott Elementary" star was presented the award by "Survivor" star and recent memoirist Parvati Shallow. Brunson, who is under 5 feet tall, was nominated alongside the likes of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sabrina Carpenter. "I want to say: To every bathroom mirror that told me I couldn't see, I can see me now!" she said in her acceptance speech. Creatine Award for Straight Male Excellence Winner: Andy Samberg A jocular spin on hypermasculinity, the award, presented by hunks-of-the-moment Dylan Efron and Jack Quaid went to "SNL" alum Samberg. In an ironically fratty fit and tone, the comedian accepted the honor by saying: "It's not that complicated, bro. Just do the work like I do: Rise and grind. When your wife hands you a thank you card she wrote, sign it. And broskis, you gotta wash your hands at least once a week." Best New Artist Award Winner: Gabby Windey The "Bachelor" alum took home the sincerely named but sarcastically doled out Best New Artist award, winning no doubt for her turn as a fan favorite on the reality show "Traitors." Like Yang and Rogers, she hosts a popular podcast, "Long Winded." "This is not the first time a gay man has helped me win something," Windey, who won "Traitors" alongside Efron, joked in her speech. "Big shoutout to Dylan Efron." (Efron is in a long-term relationship with his high school girlfriend.)
