Spartans listed as finalist for local, elite 4-star RB Kory Amachree Michigan State is one of six schools still in the running for an elite local running back prospect
Michigan State is one of only six schools still in the running for a big-time in-state running back prospect in the 2026 class.
Kory Amachree of Haslett, Mich. revealed his top six schools on Friday, with Michigan State included in the mix. Along with the Spartans, Amachree is now only considering Kansas, Indiana, Duke, Pitt and Harvard.
Amachree is a four-star running back in the 2026 class, and holds a recruiting rating of 89.63 in 247Sports' composite system. Amachree ranks as the No. 24 running back and No. 352 overall prospect in 247Sports' composite rankings for the class. He is also listed as the No. 6 player from Michigan in the class.
Amachree holds offers from nearly 40 schools, according to 247Sports. He has already taken official visits to Kansas, Northwestern and Indiana, and is scheduled to take an official visit to Michigan State on June 1.
Amachree is a local kid for Michigan State and has been a priority prospect for the Spartans in the 2026 class. This would be a massive recruiting win for head coach Jonathan Smith and his staff should they end up landing a commitment in this battle.
