Here's a look at what's hitting Twin Cities stages this week.
Tuesday, April 15 at The Cedar Cultural Center
After a tour with Alan Sparhawk and the release of Halo on the Inside, the powerfully voiced Haley Fohr brings her dark, spectral music to the Cedar. The Chicago-based artist has an unmistakably powerful voice with an impressive range. The new record — produced by MN-based artist Andrew Broder — alternately feels influenced by Ministry, Aphex Twin, Philip Glass, and Kate Bush.
Saturday, April 19 at Palace Theatre
Bob Mould isn't just getting an honorary degree from Macalester College this spring; he's bringing his three-piece — with longtime collaborators Jon Wurster and Jason Narducy — to the Palace on the back of his 15th solo album, Here We Go Crazy, an album that feels reflective without navel-gazing or throwing his punk roots so far aside as to feel staid. Poster Children open.
Saturday, April 19 at U.S. Bank Stadium
The Grammy-winning rapper and star of February's Super Bowl Half Time Show will open his new tour at U.S. Bank Stadium. He'll be accompanied by SZA, who guests on two tracks of K Dot's new album, GNX. Expect a theatrical presentation from one of the most influential contemporary names in hip-hop.
Sunday, April 20 and Tuesday, April 22–Wednesday, April 23 at Orpheum Theater
The legendary songwriter retired from touring years ago, in part because of "severe hearing loss." Nonetheless, he's back on the road with a show designed by his team in collaboration with the Stanford Initiative to Cure Hearing Loss, which allows him to comfortably perform. It'll be Simon's first performance in Minnesota since his 2018 farewell tour.
Sunday, April 20 at The Armory
My Morning Jacket recently released is, the group's 10th studio album. Co-produced by Brendan O'Brien — a departure from having Jim James play a big role, if not the only role, in producing the past nine albums — it's notably different than their last few records. It doesn't rekindle the fire of their early records but does capture the kind of consistency that has made them something of an institution. I suppose that all means that the songwriting is tight, often catchy, but is without the adventurous spirit that blended alt-country with bombastic indie rock and a willingness to draw on more eclectic influences. That's not a terrible thing, especially for longtime fans who want to revel in what they already like about the Louisville rockers. Grace Cummings opens.Concerts on Monday, April 14:

‘Acrophobic' Brian Littrell ‘freaked out' over floating platform at Backstreet Boys' Sphere residency

Backstreet Boys may be larger than life, but one member of the beloved pop group wasn't on board with a sky-high stunt they incorporated into their Las Vegas Sphere residency. The band's creative directors, Rich and Tone Talauega (better known simply as Rich + Tone), behind their newly-extended 'Into The Millennium' residency spoke to The Post about the 'challenges' they faced putting the show together, which included talking 'acrophobic' Brian Littrell into performing at over 50 feet in the air. 14 Backstreet Boys made their debut at Sphere in Las Vegas, kicking off their residency in July. Nathan Congleton/NBC via Getty Images The Backstreet Boys' action-packed residency, which kicked off in Sin City on July 11, includes insane visuals — like monster-sized dancing robots projected on the 160,000-square-foot interior screen — a 1,600 speaker sound system to highlight the group's powerful vocals, and a futuristic platform with the ability to levitate Brian, Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean and Kevin Richardson up to 80 feet. The latter, of which almost didn't happen, thanks to Brian's fear of heights, The Post is told. Advertisement 'Baz [Halpin] came up with this idea,' Rich shared, referencing the Silent House CEO, the other mastermind behind the residency. He said the Backstreet Boys wanted to make a statement as the first big pop act to perform at the Sphere since its opening in September 2023. 'I think that was the statement that we wanted to make, was having them float,' Rich said of the platform. 'Like it looks like they're actually floating on there.' 14 Global pop icons Backstreet Boys made their debut at Sphere in Las Vegas. Justin Segura When asked if all five members of the Grammy-nominated group were game for the stunt, which happens during the medley portion of the show, Rich laughed. 'Brian is acrophobic, so he's a bit afraid of heights,' he responded. 'So we had to ease him into it, make sure that everything was safe around that.' Brian Prahl / 'They were so on board,' Rich, also a longtime choreographer for the Backstreet Boys, told The Post, explaining that they made some modifications to the floating platform stunt to help make Brian feel comfortable. 'We capped it at, I think, 52 [feet], which is as hell,' Rich noted, adding, 'Brian was freaking out about it at first.' However, the singer 'worked his way up to it,' the proud creative director shared. Justin Segura Revealing that Brain's bandmates, as well as the entire team behind the residency, are 'sensitive' to his fear of heights, Rich said, 'For the most part, he came through and we didn't have to get rid of the gag.' Nick had previously opened up about Brian's phobia, but his comments resurfaced after eagle-eyed fans noticed that the vocalist uses a stand for extra support while soaring on the platform. 'Brian hates that,' Nick told Entertainment Tonight in February. 'He's afraid of heights.' Advertisement 14 An shot of the Sphere in Las Vegas during the band's residency show. While their 'Into The Millennium' residency was scheduled to end on August 24, the Backstreet Boys added several shows to their lineup this week due to popular demand. 'OH MY GOD, WE'RE BACK AGAIN!' the band shared via Instagram on Wednesday. 'We know we said we were done for this year, but that was before you guys sold out 21 nights at Sphere! So we worked hard to get some more shows scheduled to make sure everyone who wants to see the show can come to Vegas.' Nick, Brian, AJ, Howie and Kevin will return to the Sphere for five new dates in December and two additional shows in January 2026.

Jared Goff responds to ‘crazy' Taylor Swift mention during her internet-shattering ‘New Heights' appearance

Jared Goff said his phone was ringing off the hook after Taylor Swift mentioned the Lions quarterback during her internet-breaking appearance on the 'New Heights' podcast Wednesday. Swift, 35, mentioned Goff and Bills quarterback Josh Allen while explaining that she had little knowledge about football until she got together with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in 2023. After that, Goff, who looked down at his phone, said he went through 'a crazy couple hours.' Advertisement 'It's pretty crazy, huh?' he said, smiling. 'Very cool, I guess. That was a crazy couple hours for me and my phone. I was like, 'Oh, ok,' but yeah kinda cool.' Swift, who revealed her new album, 'The Life of a Showgirl,' will drop Oct. 3, said she wasn't super familiar with the sport until Kelce, 35, came into her life. X 'I thought everyone was there [on the field] at the same time,' Swift said. '… I thought it was like, Jared Goff is here and Josh Allen is here and [the referee] is gonna blow a whistle and then they go at each other, and it's like, who's gonna win?' Retired Eagles legend Jason Kelce, who co-hosts the 'New Heights' podcast alongside his younger brother, chimed in. 5 Taylor Swift name-dropped Lions quarterback Jared Goff during her internet-breaking appearance on the 'New Heights' podcast on August 13, 2025. The Chiefs will host the Lions and Goff, 30, on 'Sunday Night Football' weeks later on Oct. 12.
