iPhone Fold leaker just spilled the beans on screen sizes — and it's worse than we thought
If rumors are to be believed, Apple will finally dive into the foldable phone market in 2026 with the much-rumored iPhone Fold. Rumors have been all over the place when it comes to the the screen size of this unreleased device, but seemed to have settled on around 7.7 inches for the interior panel. That claim was backed up today (July 25) by regular leaker Digital Chat Station, who posted on Weibo that the iPhone Fold would feature a 7.7-inch unfolded screen and a cover display of 5.49-inches. This isn't the first time Digital Chat Station has made that claim, previously saying it came from an iPhone Fold prototype. "The screen size of the first foldable iPhone has been revealed," DCS said in this most recent machine-translated post. "5.5-inch outer screen + 7.7-inch inner screen." They added that the current prototype has shrunk a bit from the February version. It's an iota smaller than recent rumors that had the device featuring a 7.8-inch internal display, similar to numbers from Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who reported the same measurements back in March. Kuo also believes the phone will measure between 9 and 9.5mm thick when folded and 4 and 4.5mm when opened. While thin, the iPhone Fold would be thicker than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 which measures 4.2mm when unfolded and 8.9mm closed. If those numbers are true it would additionally make Apple's device smaller than a number of the best foldable phones available including Samsung's newly released Fold, which features an 8-inch unfolded screen and a 6.5-inch exterior display. The upcoming Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold — which we're expecting to see at Google's August 20 event — is supposed to feature a 6.4-inch exterior display while retaining the same 8-inch inner screen as the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The Oppo Find N5 features a huge 8.12-inch inner display alongside a 6.62-inch front screen. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. The iPhone Fold's smaller screen may not be a deal breaker, as rumors hint that Apple is looking for customized display ratio of 4:3, similar to the iPad. This would make the foldable iPhone more familiar to Apple fans who have used iPads before. Plus, Apple is reportedly developing iOS 27 for foldable phones which takes inspiration from the latest version of iPadOS. Apple is years behind its rivals when it comes to foldable phones, but the company is allegedly obsessed with only releasing one once a creaseless display was possible. Reportedly, that finally became possible thanks to a partnership with Samsung Display.

New dating advice app Tea rockets to No. 1 app spot: What to know
A dating advice app called Tea has rocketed to the top of the free apps chart in Apple's App Store after it went viral on Reddit, TikTok and across social media. The app varies from traditional dating apps because it's only for women, and instead of looking for dates, women go on the app to share information about and look for tips on potential male partners. The company behind Tea said in an Instagram post that it had reached over 4 million female users and has a waiting list of approximately 900,000 new, prospective users. Get to know the viral new app below. What is the Tea app? The Tea app is marketed as a "women-only" app that offers "dating tools for women" and lets women anonymously share and search for information, advice, and photos of men they say they have dates with or are looking to date. According to the Apple App Store, to use the Tea app, users must be 17+. The purpose of a woman adding a man's "dating data" and "dating history" would, in theory, build community and help other women share "red flags" or warnings about people they say they've dated or any "green flags" or vouch for men. Women can share noteworthy dating experiences, both positive and negative. The Tea app is available for iOS on Apple's App Store and for Android on the Google Play Store. What does Tea let users do? In one promotional Instagram post, Tea compared itself to the user review app Yelp. "An app that's like Yelp, except for it's reviews of men," the text in the video post reads. After creating an account by logging in through an Apple or Facebook account, a Tea user can use the app's tools to check phone number lookups, do background checks, check criminal records, check if someone is listed on sex offender registries and reverse image search photos to see if photos are used elsewhere, according to explanations posted on the Tea app's social media pages. Users can also search for others based on their location. Tea users can also share first names, photos, and reviews of men they've dated and their date experiences. What are the concerns behind Tea? On Reddit, some users have called for the deletion and removal of the Tea app, calling it a platform that "can be used to spread misinformation," a platform that allows for easy doxing, or the sharing of someone's identity and private information publicly, and a "privacy blindspot" that doesn't let men search for themselves or verify what is shared about them. The Tea app claims to verify all potential users and calls safety its "No. 1 priority." "Because this is a women-only app, our approval process is extremely tedious, to protect the women in Tea," the app stated in an Instagram post. "We pride ourselves on being very thorough, which takes extra time (real human team, no shortcuts!)," the message continued in part.

Android Circuit: Galaxy S26 Ultra Leaks, Pixel Watch 4 Pricing, Honor Magic V5 Breaks Records
Taking a look back at this week's news and headlines across the Android world, including Google confirms Pixel 10, Pixel Watch 4 pricing, pre-order records for Samsung and Honor, Galaxy S26 Ultra leaks, Now Bar updated with new AI, and Oppo continues photo partnership. Android Circuit is here to remind you of a few of the many discussions around Android in the last seven days. You can also read my weekly digest of Apple news here on Forbes. An attendee holds the new Google Pixel 9 phones during the Made By Google event (Photo by Justin ...) Google Reveals Pixel 10 It's tough to stop leaks in the modern smartphone world, so Google—in a move echoing its 2024 launch timetable—has confirmed the Pixel 10 family with a teaser ad on the Google Store: "You can currently see a video of the phone on Google's website (and below), which shows a gray-ish blue phone with three back cameras, a flash, and what appears to be a temperature sensor — previously a Pro-exclusive feature. Google's website only describes it as the 'Pixel 10,' but the phone in the video lines up more closely with official renders of the Pixel 10 Pro series." (The Verge). Pixel Watch 4 Pricing Details Pricing has yet to be confirmed on the Pixel 10 series, although retail leaks have suggested similar pricing to last year. The same is true of the Pixel Watch 4, with European sticker prices matching up 2024's model: "According to Dealabs, the 41mm Pixel Watch 4 will come in at 399€ for the Wi-Fi model and 499€ for the LTE version. The 45mm Pixel Watch 4 is 449€ for Wi-FI, while LTE is 549€. This is specifically French pricing, with the leak presumably coming from a local retailer." (9to5Google). Record Pre-Orders For Galaxy Z Series Pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 have shown the demand for the foldable form factor remains relatively high, with over a million pre-orders for Samsung's latest: '...all the signs from key markets like India and South Korea are very encouraging. Almost surprisingly so. Not only are the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 nearly as popular as the Galaxy S25 series in the world's most populous nation, but the pre-order record set by the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 a couple of years back in Samsung's homeland has officially been broken as well." (Phonearena). Honor's Record Preorders Speaking of foldable records, Honor is seeng a similar lift in pre-orders. The latest Magic V5 is picking up record requests around the world: "We brought in double the stock of the Honor Magic V3 for this launch, and still managed to sell out online within just 48 hours. Foldables are clearly booming in Singapore. It's clear that consumers here are eager to embrace innovation.' (Honor Singapore via Hardware Zone). Samsung Boosts Galaxy S26 Ultra Specs Looking further ahead, the foldables may be the fashion, but the flagships are waiting in the wings. Some will undoubtedly be launched in September (likely in time for Berlin's IFA consumer technology show), while others will follow later. Samsung's Galaxy S26 family is either at the very end of that cycle, or kicks off 2026. Nevertheless, one recent leak suggests it is already behind in the specs comparison: "That's still a 10% increase, but battery sizes starting with 6 and 7 are becoming the norm for Chinese brands, so this will clearly be seen as a weakness for the S26 Ultra when it arrives. On the flip side, it is said to support 65W charging, for the first time a Samsung smartphone is going to go past the previously-inescapable 45W threshold. (GSMArena). Samsung Upgrades Now Bar As artificial intelligence becomes ever more prevalent, how it is brought to users will be key. Samsung's Now Bar is one of those choices, and the South Korean company is stepping up and introducing more services to the fore: "In the 'Device Experience Guide' for the Galaxy Z Flip 7, which ships with One UI 8, Samsung highlights that the Now Bar can now display real-time app alerts right on the cover screen. The document also reveals that app support for the Now Bar is set to expand from 20 services in One UI 7 (as of June 2025) to up to 35 in One UI 8 by the end of 2025." (Android Authority). And Finally... The traditional focus of smartphone photography is still a key point both in marketing and in manufacturing, so it's worth noting that Oppo's partnership with Hasselblad is set to continue: "Back in 2022, Oppo entered a strategic partnership with legendary imaging brand Hasselblad. The pair have been collaborating on all of Oppo's flagship phones since, and the two sides are now extending that partnership and revealed they are developing a next-generation imaging system for Oppo's upcoming flagship phones." (GSM Arena). Android Circuit rounds up the news from the Android world every weekend here on Forbes.
