Odds Narrow For ‘Suga' Vs. ‘Machine' Rematch

After a Merab Dvalishvili vs. Sean O'Malley rematch for the Bantamweight title was announced for UFC 316 in Newark, N.J. (details here), hardcore mixed martial arts (MMA) fans flooded the Internet to call it an unnecessary fight that would end the same way as the first.

Almost everyone, at least.
But, according to the bookies taking bets, they expect enough money to be coming in on O'Malley that they've juiced the line a good amount in preparation for the June 8, 2025, 135-pound rematch.
Back when Dvalishvili defeated Umar Nurmagomedov at UFC 311 (easily, we might add), future odds for a potential O'Malley rematch were set at a very reasonable -400 Dvalishvili to +300 O'Malley. Them's numbers we can get behind as a realistic indicator of the chances 'Suga' has of regaining his title against the momentum-heavy 'Machine.'
Following UFC CEO Dana White's announcement of the fight, though, we saw very different odds.

Indeed, Dvalishvili is -250 and O'Malley is +200. Those aren't numbers that reflect the largely one-sided blowout we witnessed in the first fight. Those are numbers designed to draw action on Dvalishvili to balance out the flood of anticipated O'Malley fans betting on their boy.
Can O'Malley turn things around in the rematch?
It depends on how much of a factor you believe his injured groin / hip was going into UFC 306. Maybe you think 'Suga' found the chink in Dvalishvili's armor near the end of their first fight when he hit the Georgian fighter with a body shot that clearly hurt. Or, perhaps you're inspired by O'Malley's recent no SnapChat, weed or peen regiment.
Whatever reason you may have to bet on O'Malley, there's plenty of sportsbooks out there willing to give you pretty terrible odds. The best time to bet O'Malley was back in January when the odds reflected Dvalishvili's powerful performance against Nurmagomedov. The second best time would be in another fight where 'Suga' winning is more likely.

Bet wisely, my friends.

Stephen Thompson picks Joaquin Buckley to beat Kamaru Usman: 'Guy's evolving every time'
Stephen Thompson picks Joaquin Buckley to beat Kamaru Usman: 'Guy's evolving every time' Stephen Thompson is impressed with the evolution in his former UFC foe's game. Thompson (17-7-1 MMA, 12-7-1 UFC) was knocked out by Joaquin Buckley (21-6 MMA, 11-4 UFC) in his most recent outing at UFC 307 this past October. Buckley went on to stop former interim champion Colby Covington, and now draws former welterweight champ Kamaru Usman (20-4 MMA, 15-3 UFC) on June 14 in the UFC on ESPN 69 headliner at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. "Wonderboy" finds it hard to bet against Buckley. "Buckely's been on a tear, man," Thompson told Inside Fighting. "The guy is hungry, he's got great wrestling. You saw what it did to Colby Covington. I think it's going to be a tough night for both. But I think Kamaru Usman is going to do the same old jab, shoot for the leg, maybe a little bit of boxing. Buckley, you don't know what he's going to pull out of the hat. "The guy's evolving every time I see this guy fight, so that's what's going to make this fight so interesting for sure. Buckley's wanted it. He's wanted to move up the rankings, and Kamaru Usman is kind of working his way down a little bit, but he's still part of the welterweight division and in the top five. I'm kind of leaning towards Buckley." Former title challenger Thompson will look to rebound from his loss to Buckley when he takes on rising welterweight Gabriel Bonfim (17-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) at UFC on ESPN 70 on July 12 from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

🎥 On the loo for the Henkelpott: why TikTokers spent 27 hours on the toilet
🎥 On the loo for the Henkelpott: why TikTokers spent 27 hours on the toilet Quit your job, trade in your car, skip your own wedding - for a ticket to the Champions League final, many fans would sacrifice just about anything. Two TikTok influencers from Belgium took it to the extreme this year, venturing into not entirely legal territory. Neal Remmerie and Senne Haverbeke donned yellow safety vests 27 hours before the final in Munich, made their way onto the stadium grounds, and hid out in a stadium restroom. Advertisement The duo revealed as much to Belgian news outlet 'VRT News'. To make their hiding spot even more secure, they stuck "out of order" signs on the toilet doors. 📸 Stu Forster - 2025 Getty Images But the overnight stay wasn't quite as relaxed as it seemed, according to Remmerie: "We had a backpack with snacks and played on our phones to pass the time. The lights were on the whole time and the seating position was uncomfortable, so it was almost impossible to sleep. That made it physically and mentally tough." Incidentally, they also filmed the whole thing and documented it on TikTok: At least the hardships seemed worth it for the two Belgians: after the stadium gates opened, they managed to sneak into the block with the PSG fans. It was the best game they'd ever seen, they told 'VRT News'. Advertisement UEFA and the Allianz Arena's stadium operator have yet to comment on the incident in response to inquiries from the 'BBC'. It remains to be seen whether the two Belgians will face any official consequences. This article was translated into English by Artificial Intelligence.
