Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh, family meet with PM Modi
New Delhi [India], May 18 (ANI): Telugu Desam Party (TDP) General Secretary and Andhra Pradesh Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh along with his wife Brahmani Nara and son Devaansh called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital.
They expressed admiration for the Prime Minister's leadership and discussed the state's development goals in line with the Centre's vision for a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047.
In a post on X on Saturday, TDP President Lokesh Nara also thanked him for support, and discussed Andhra's role in Viksit Bharat.

'Today, it was my honour and privilege to call on the Hon'ble Prime minister Sri @narendramodi Ji at his residence along with @brahmaninara and Devaansh. I expressed my gratitude to the Prime Minister for his continued support towards the state's growth,' the TDP leader said on X.
The post added, 'I thanked him for his strong and decisive leadership, whilst also seeking guidance on how the state could further contribute to his vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.'
Similarly, his wife Brahmani Nara, who is the Executive Director of Heritage Foods and daughter-in-law of TDP Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, praised PM Modi as one of the greatest leaders committed to transforming India into a global superpower.
In a post on X, Brahmani Nara shared her admiration for the Prime Minister and said, 'It was an honour to meet India's Prime Minister, Shri @narendramodi Ji along with @naralokesh and Devaansh.'

New Delhi [India], June 15 (ANI): Former Ambassador Mahesh Sachdev on Saturday highlighted that the US involvement in Israel-Iran war is a subject of debate, with some reports suggesting that the US might be working with Israel. He pointed out the contradiction in US statements, with the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio saying the US is not involved, while US President Donald Trump claiming America knew about the airstrikes. In a conversation with ANI, he said, 'There is a bit of contradiction between the statements. Firstly, US Secretary of State yesterday said that in this conflict, US is not involved and that Israel is taking action at its own will. Later on, American President Donald Trump through his various post on social media and interview says United States knew everything about it.' Rubio stressed that 'we are not involved in strikes against Iran and our top priority is protecting American forces in the region.' His remarks came just hours after President Donald Trump said that he and his team had known the attacks were coming and still saw room for an accord. Sachdev further opined that Israel's attack helped corner Iran in a way where it would show flexibility in negotiations. Thus, US may have a helping hand with Israel. 'He [Trump] thought that Israel's attack was much more successful and later he would ask Iran to continue for negotiations and show greater flexibility otherwise later on Iran will nothing to have for negotiations. It shows that Israel and US are together. There are also some reports which says that the US helped Israel in this conflict,' he said. There was a nuclear deal ' Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action' singed in 2015 which is still on the table. The US walked out of this during Trump's first tenure in 2018. After that, Trump maximised pressurized tactics, curbing Iran's tax flow and funds. This policy is now continuously running in Donald Trump's second tenure also. 'The US is playing this role from behind, using Israeli army to demolish Iranian nuclear program. In case the conflict between two countries expand it will be interesting to see the stand US will adopt,' he said. Israel on June 13 launched a sweeping operation known as 'Rising Lion,' which has targeted Iran's nuclear facilities and scientists, as well as military leaders. The conflict between Israel and Iran has reached a boiling point, with both countries exchanging attacks and counter-attacks. Israel launched its largest-ever air offensive against Iran, targeting over 100 sites, including nuclear and military facilities. The strikes resulted in 78 deaths, mostly civilians, and over 320 injuries. In response, Iran launched 'Operation True Promise,' firing missiles at Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, killing one person and injuring at least 34. Sachdev said that the situation will worsen, with potential involvement of regional players not directly involved in the conflict. The conflict's escalation poses significant risks to regional stability and global security. 'Iran and Israel conflict is a serious escalation if we look at current situation in West Asia with Israel launching its biggest offensive more than 100 targets in Iran involving nuclear missile military forces personnel and other targets. It seems to have some initial success, three Iranian commander have been assassinated, six nuclear scientist were also taken out by Israel,' said Sachdev. He highlighted that continued military operations by Israel may prompt retaliatory actions from Iran, potentially escalating the conflict into a full-scale war. The conflict could draw in other regional players, further complicating the situation and increasing the risk of a wider war. 'On the other hand Iran on its part is launching missiles regularly at Israel for past two nights. It has some success, both sides- Iran and Israel are having casualities. The real danger is that from here on, the situation will worsen for two countries. Which is not being confined purely military or strategic targets but it also involves regional players who are bilaterly are not in this conflict,' he said. On PM Narendra Modi having talk with Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu, he said that the former has called for peace and diplomacy as India is dependent on that region for oil and several Indians are working there. 'I think Indian Prime Minister has articulated India's traditional stand in favour of peace via diplomacy and stability. This has been our long standing policy with regarding to West Asia where we have strong national interest. Our more than 9 million Indians are working there in that part of the world where the conflict is ongoing. We have dependence on that part of gulf area as nearly half of our oil imports and our trade and investments from that area important factor in our country economy,' he said. (ANI)

"Justin Trudeau was a very weak Canadian PM": Founder of Sikhs of America condemns support to Khalistanis
Washington DC [US], June 15 (ANI): Jasdip Singh Jesse, founder and Chairman of Sikhs of America shared his thoughts on Khalistani extremism and the evolving relationship between India and Canada. Speaking to ANI from Washington, DC, Jesse expressed optimism about the changing dynamics under Canada's new Prime Minister, Mark Carney. Jesse said that the Khalistani support and influence that was prominent during Justin Trudeau's tenure as Prime Minister will diminish under Carney's leadership. He described Trudeau as a 'weak Prime Minister' with an agenda against India, which he believed is no longer a factor. '...With PM Mark Carney, becoming the Prime Minister, I think the Khalistani support and the Khalistani influence that we saw in the past, i don't see it happening anymore. Justin Trudeau was a very weak Prime Minister, just like his father, and they had some kind of an agenda against India, which is Khalistani influence is not are a very, very small percentage of the majority of the Sikhs living outside India, love India, Punjab, and want India and Punjab to grow...I don't even consider Khalistanis as Sikhs as they don't work on Sikh principles...,' said Jesse. 'This election that happened in Canada and with Carney, becoming the Prime Minister, I think the Khalistanis' support and the Khalistanis' influence that we saw in the past, I don't see it happening anymore. Justin Trudeau was a very weak prime minister just like his father, and they had some kind of agenda against India which is gone, that era is gone, the Khalistani influence is not there,' he said. Jesse welcomed Canada's invitation to PM Modi to attend the G7 Summit, seeing it as a positive development in India-Canada relations. He commended Carney for inviting PM Modi and noted that it marks a new beginning for the two countries. 'This is a very good decision of Canada to invite PM Modi. India is a very strong sense prevailed and I commend Canadian PM Mark Carney for inviting PM Modi. It is the beginning of a very good Modi graciously accepted the invitation and is going there. It is going to be a new beginning for India-Canada ties,' he said. Jesse also addressed Khalistani extremism in the US, alleging that rogue elements have been involved in human trafficking and manipulating youth through false promises of political asylum. He expects investigations into these cases under the new US administration. 'These rogue elements who under the name of Khalistani moment have been doing all kind of illegal trade here. We have seen them involved in human trafficking, when all these youth who were coming to these foreign nations under the dunkey route, they were being victimized and manipulated by the so-called Khalistani leaders such as Gurpatwant Singh Pannu and then used for the referendum and giving them false promises that would get them political asylum and all these kind of things. With US President Trump coming, all this has stopped and there are going to be investigations into all these false immigration is going to have a big influence on Canadian immigration too...,' he said. Jesse emphasised the importance of unity among Indians living abroad, regardless of their religious backgrounds. He condemned attacks on places of worship and divisive tactics, stressing that Sikhs value and respect all religions and have always been supportive of India Jesse told ANI that he does not consider Khalistanis as Sikhs because they act against the principles of Sikhism. 'I think Khalistanis, I don't even consider them Sikh. They are not Sikhs because they don't work on Sikh principles and so it's a very small percentage, and I don't think they have the influence on this new government,' he said. Talking about Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney inviting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the G7 Summit, Jesse welcomed the decision, saying that good sense prevailed as India being the fourth largest economy in the world could not be ignored. 'I think it was a very good decision by Canada to invite Prime Minister Modi. India is a very strong nation right now with the 4th largest economy in the world. To ignore such a big economy and a country from G7, was a mistake. A good sense prevailed, and I commend Prime Minister Carney that he has invited Prime Minister Modi,' he said. Jesse said that the invite given to PM Modi is the beginning of a very good relationship. 'I think it's the beginning of a very good relationship. There's been going to be a reset by Prime Minister Modi graciously accepting the invitation and going there. I think it's going to be a new beginning for Canada in the in the relationship,' he said. When asked about his views on the coming future of India-Canada relations as the ties were strained, as Trudeau-led administration gave a free run to such anti-India sentiments, Jesse said that this government will stop supporting Khalistani elements. He added that the Khalistanis carried out human trafficking and as the support for them ceased now, this will have a huge impact on the immigrations in North America. 'With US President Donald Trump coming, all this has stopped and there are going to be investigations going on. [They will be] investigating all these false immigration cases and these all illegal immigration, and I would call it human trafficking, and those things are being stopped in North America now, and I think it's going to have a big influence on Canadian immigration too that all these, you know, human trafficking which was later manipulated and used for the Khalistani movement, is going to stop,' he said. Jesse said that these rogue elements running in the name of Khalistan, manipulate youth that come in through the illegal dunki route and give them the false promise of political asylum. 'I think these rogue elements, who under the name of Khalistan movement, have been doing all kinds of illegal trade here. We have seen them involved in human trafficking, when all these youths who were coming to these foreign nations under the dunki route, they were being victimised and then manipulated by the so-called Khalistani leaders such as Gurparwant Singh Pannu, and they were then used for the referendum and other things, giving them false promises that will get you political asylum and all these kind of things,' he said. Jesse further said that he condemned all kinds of violence. He said that there is nothing wrong with peaceful protests, but their acts of vandalism, especially in Hindu temples- places of worship, were wrong. '...Attacking a place of worship is against Sikh principles and that's why I don't call these Khalistanis as Sikhs because they're working against the Sikh have always been there for India and Hindus are our brothers and we value and respect all Indian community has to stay united. We don't have to get divisive here and Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims, Christians - all Indians living outside India should stay united and not become a victim to these dividing tactics...,' he said. Speaking to ANI, Fabian stated that the G7, well, earlier, the war in Ukraine was going to dominate the talks. Now, it is reasonably clear that the Iran-Israel Tension and hostilities are going to dominate the G7. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney made it clear that there will be no joint communique, only action-oriented statements. Fabian noted that this decision is likely an effort to avoid irritating US President Donald Trump, who previously walked out of a G7 Summit in Canada after disagreeing with the joint communique. 'The host government... wants to make sure that nothing irritates Trump,' Fabian said. 'So Prime Minister Carney is playing it very carefully, very cautiously,' he added. Fabian also highlighted Iran's scepticism towards nuclear talks with the US following Israel's recent strikes on Iran. Simplifying the scenario, he affirmed that Iran believes that Israel's actions were only possible with the approval of the United States, rendering further negotiations with America pointless. 'Iran honestly believes, and Iran is not wrong, that. Israel struck only with the approval of President Donald Trump. So if that is the case, what's the point in talking to America? If America is permitting Israel to strike. Then there's no point in talking. Iran is right,' he said. 'Now, this doesn't mean there will be no more talks because Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump have spoken to each other, and it is possible, I say, after a few days,' he added. Trump on Saturday (local time) revealed that he received a call from Russian President Putin on his 79th birthday and talked about the war between Israel and Iran, which both leaders agreed 'should end.' The conversation occurred before Trump is set to mark his 79th birthday in the evening by attending a military parade on the streets of Washington, DC, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the US Army. Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social, 'President Putin called this morning to very nicely wish me a Happy Birthday, but to more importantly, talk about Iran, a country he knows very well.'
