Boulder attack: When will Mohamed Sabry Soliman's wife and kids be deported? White House shares major update

Hindustan Times2 days ago

The White House has shared an update after immigration authorities took into custody the wife and five children of Boulder attack suspect Mohamed Sabry Soliman. Several people were hospitalized with burns after Soliman tossed Molotov cocktails at a group that had gathered in support of Israeli hostages.
In a June 4 post on X, the White House shared a couple of photos of Soliman, with text on them reading, 'Wife and Kids of Illegal Alien Behind Antisemitic Firebombing Could Be Deported by Tonight'. The post is captioned, 'Six One-Way Tickets for Mohamed's Wife and Five Kids. Final Boarding Call Coming Soon.'
Solimanhas been charged with attempted murder, assault and possession of an incendiary device after the brutal attack. "We are investigating to what extent his family knew about this heinous attack, if they had knowledge of it, or if they provided support to it," US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem previously on X.
In a previous post, the White House announced, "The wife and five children of illegal alien Mohamed Soliman - the suspect in the antisemitic firebombing of Jewish Americans- have been captured and are now in ICE custody for expedited removal."
After the incident, Donald Trump took to Truth Social to blast former president Joe Biden's border policies. 'Yesterday's horrific attack in Boulder, Colorado, WILL NOT BE TOLERATED in the United States of America,' Trump wrote. 'He came in through Biden's ridiculous Open Border Policy, which has hurt our Country so badly. He must go out under 'TRUMP' Policy. Acts of Terrorism will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law. This is yet another example of why we must keep our Borders SECURE, and deport Illegal, Anti-American Radicals from our Homeland. My heart goes out to the victims of this terrible tragedy, and the Great People of Boulder, Colorado!'

"Can Swim Very Well": Greta Thunberg Hits Back At Trump Ally Over Gaza Trip

Climate activist Greta Thunberg has hit back at South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham for mocking her Gaza trip, saying it spoke "a lot about their priorities". Mr Graham, an ally of US President Donald Trump and a vocal supporter of Israel, earlier sparked outrage after sharing a cryptic comment about Ms Thunberg on X. Sharing an article by The Times of Israel about the 22-year-old activist, he wrote, "Hope Greta and her friends can swim!" Hope Greta and her friends can swim! — Lindsey Graham (@LindseyGrahamSC) June 1, 2025 Asked about her response to Mr Graham's post, Ms Thunberg told Democracy Now, "We can swim very well... In the face of genocide and systematic starvation of two million people, lawmakers, elected officials, whose responsibility should be to serve the people and to protect the people, that they, rather than ending their complicity in genocide and the massive slaughtering of civilians, are focusing on mocking people who are at least trying to do their bit," she said. "I think that says everything we need to know about their priorities," she added. Ms Thunberg is among a dozen crew members sailing to the war-torn strip with a boat full of humanitarian aid. They set sail on Sunday aboard the Madleen, a vessel operated by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC). Besides her, among 11 others are Game of Thrones actor Liam Cunningham and Rima Hassan, a French member of the European Parliament. Ms Hassan is of Palestinian descent. The group claims their mission is a "non-violent, direct action to challenge Israel's illegal siege and escalating war crimes." Gaza faced a total blockade from the Israeli side for more than 90 days. It has remained under land, sea, and air restrictions since 2007. The Benjamin Netanyahu government has bombed the city of roughly two million people over a year and a half, killing more than 54,000 Palestinians, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. The airstrikes have targeted schools, hospitals and even camps where thousands have taken refuge after being displaced and asked to move multiple times. Mr Thunberg and others are carrying essential supplies, including milk, protein bars, baby formula, diapers, flour, rice, water filters, hygiene products, and medical equipment, for locals in Gaza. According to Al Jazeera, Forensic Architecture, a multidisciplinary research group based at Goldsmiths, University of London, has equipped the ship with an advanced tracking system. Earlier in the day, its live feed showed it off the southeast coast of the Greek island of Crete. Earlier, a senior military spokesperson for Israel said they were "prepared" to prevent the flotilla's arrival. "For this case as well, we are prepared," Israel Defence Forces (IDF) spokesman Brig General Effie Defrin told The Times of London. "We have gained experience in recent years, and we will act accordingly."

Who is Yasser Abu Shabab, trying to control Gaza? Hamas claim he is proxy of Israel as..., locals and his own family...

New Delhi: Israeli attacks have devastated Gaza and Gaza is now completely destroyed. People are suffering from hunger and pain, but amidst all this, there has also been a rise in militia conflict. A man named Yasser Abu Shabab has emerged in Gaza, claiming to take control of the area. Yasser Abu Shabab is a tribal leader from the Rafah area of the Gaza Strip, who is said to be an agent of Israel. Reports claim that Yasser Abu Shabab is becoming active under the protection of Israeli soldiers and is gradually trying to establish his rule in the Gaza Strip. He has begun to mobilize people against Hamas in Gaza Strip and has formed his own militia. Yasser Abu Shabab was once a well-known name in the world of crime, who was skilled in drug trafficking. But now he is the leader of an armed group called 'Popular Forces'. This organization presents itself as a local resistance against Hamas. However, questions are being raised about whether he is truly a symbol of security for the people of Gaza, or a proxy for Israel, whose aim is to establish a governance in Gaza according to Israel's terms. 'Popular Forces' claims that it is protecting the citizens in the Gaza Strip and the captivity of Hamas. Yasser Abu Shabab is associated with the Tarabin tribe residing in Rafah and was previously imprisoned in Hamas's jail on charges of drug trafficking and theft. After escaping from jail during Israeli airstrikes, he established an armed group called 'Popular Forces,' which claims to protect civilian safety and humanitarian aid. His fighters wear uniforms with Palestinian flags and patches of the 'Counter-Terrorism Unit.' This week, he released a video message claiming that his group, formally known as Al-Qawat Al-Shabeya (Popular Forces), has taken control of eastern Rafah. He has urged displaced citizens to return and promised food, shelter, and security in the temporary camps set up under the surveillance of the Israeli army. Hamas has labeled Abu Shabab and his organization as an Israeli proxy. Reports from outlets like Quds News, Haaretz, and The Washington Post describe Abu Shabab and his group as operating under Israeli military security. Hamas has declared Abu Shabab a collaborator and criminal of Israel, accusing him of looting humanitarian aid. Questions have also been raised about his legitimacy within the local community, and his own family has publicly distanced themselves from him.
