Chandigarh: Leaves for medical personnel at Ayushman Arogya Manch cancelled
Chandigarh: All medical staff posted at AAMs (Ayushman Arogya Mandirs) and UAAMs (Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandirs) in Chandigarh, Punjab, have been instructed to be prepared for 24/7 emergency duties.
Additionally, staff leaves have been cancelled with immediate effect until further notice.
In a notice, dated May 7, Chandigarh's State Health Society stated, "All Medical officers in charge and staff posted at AAMs and UAAMs are hereby instructed that any kind of leave stands cancelled with immediate effect until further orders. Be prepared for emergency duty 24/7."
The notice further read that in times of emergency, the medical staff should "answer calls promptly".
"If called for duty anywhere and at any time, they should immediately report for duty. They should be available 24/7 and answer the calls promptly; otherwise, strict disciplinary action will be initiated," the order stated.

Punjab Police
cancelled the leaves of all its officers and employees with immediate effect, according to a statement from the Police Department.

against Pakistan, several major cities across northern India have been placed on high alert. As part of heightened security measures, Amritsar Airport has been shut down until further notice, according to the police.
According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP-2) Sirivennela, 21 North and North-Western India airports will shut until May 10, and no flights will be operated.
"We received information that all flights need to be cancelled and the airport has to be shut down. The whole airport is shut until further notice. As per the central government, 21 airports in North and North-western India will remain shut till May 10. No flights will be operated from here," the police official told ANI.
On Wednesday, SpiceJet announced the cancellation of flight operations to and from six airports in northern India, following airport closures implemented amid heightened security in the wake of Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the

Khan's arrest comes amid mounting controversy over Panoli's arrest, who was held from Gurugram on 30 May by Kolkata Police, following a controversial video she posted on social media which drew strong reactions. In the video, she allegedly criticised Bollywood celebrities for staying silent on Operation Sindoor. After intense trolling and threats in the comments, Panoli removed the video and issued a public apology on 15 May. Earlier on 3 June, the Calcutta High Court had rejected the interim bail plea of Panoli. On 2 June, Shree Ram Swabhiman Parishad filed a formal complaint against Wajahat Khan with the Kolkata Police, accusing him of using derogatory, inflammatory, and sexually explicit language targeting Hindu deities, religious traditions, and the community at large. In the letter to the Officer-in-Charge of the Garden Reach Police Station, Shree Ram Swabhiman Parishad alleged that Khan in his social media posts referred Hindus by using terms including "rapist cultures" and "urine drinkers". The Hindu body requested the police to take action against Khan under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act.

'In breach of natural justice': Bombay HC sets aside student's rustication from Pune college; she criticized govt over Operation Sindoor
Bombay high court (File photo) NEW DELHI: The Bombay high court on Monday set aside the rustication of a student from a Pune-based engineering college over her post on Operation Sindoor . The division bench of justices Makarand S Karnik and Nitin R Borkar noted that the expulsion letter by Sinhgad Academy of Engineering was "in breach of natural justice" as the student was rusticated without being heard, news agency PTI reported. However, the bench granted the institute liberty to take an appropriate decision after hearing her and complying with the principles of natural justice. This comes after the court, on May 27, suspended Sinhgad Academy's order to expel her. It also allowed the girl to appear for her second-year semester examinations. Absconding Wazahat Khan held in Kolkata in hate speech case
The Kolkata Police on Monday evening arrested Wazahat Khan, who had lodged a complaint against social media influencer Sharmistha Panoli for allegedly uploading a video with communal comments , in the city, a senior officer said. Khan was hiding in a flat in the Amherst Street area from where he was picked up, the officer said. Khan, who was absconding, has been booked under various sections of the BNS, including those dealing with promoting enmity between different groups based on religion, race, and insults or attempts to insult religion. An FIR was registered against him at the Golf Green Police Station in south Kolkata for allegedly promoting hate speech and hurting religious sentiments through his social media posts. The other charges slapped against him included sections on provoking breach of peace and statements conducing to public mischief. Live Events The personnel from the Kolkata Police Anti-Rowdy Section of the Detective Department earlier conducted raids at Digha and Howrah in search of the absconding accused, an officer said. Khan ignored three consecutive summonses for questioning and remained on the run till he was arrested, police said. Earlier, on May 30, Sharmistha Panoli was arrested by Kolkata Police from Gurugram in Haryana after a video she uploaded on social media drew widespread outrage. The video in question was later deleted, and Panoli had tendered an unconditional apology on social media. The 22-year law student was subsequently presented before a magistrate here and sent to 14-day judicial custody. Panoli was granted conditional interim bail by the Calcutta High Court on June 5 on grounds that the complaint against her did not disclose any cognisable offence. She was set free a day later. The court, while refusing to grant her interim bail earlier, had said that freedom of speech is not absolute and does not allow anyone to hurt religious sentiments. Meanwhile, multiple complaints had also been lodged against Wazahat Khan with Kolkata Police, including one by the Shree Ram Swabhiman Parishad. The Parishad's complaint, dated June 2 and addressed to the Officer-in-Charge of the Garden Reach Police Station, accused Khan of using derogatory, inflammatory, and sexually explicit language targeting Hindu deities, religious traditions, and the community at large. After Panoli's arrest, Khan went missing with his father Saadat Khan telling the media that the family had been receiving threatening calls accusing them of "ruining Panoli's life".
