Defence Minister Rajnath Singh took a subtle dig at US President Donald Trump on Sunday over the recent tariff increases on Indian goods. Without naming Trump, Singh said, "Some 'boss' is jealous, unable to accept India's growth; trying to disrupt the country's economy."He added, "There are some people who are not happy with the speed at which India is developing. They are not liking it. 'Sabke boss toh hum hain' (We are everyone's boss), how is India growing so fast?"These remarks came after the US imposed a 25% tariff on Indian goods and an additional 25% penalty due to India's continued purchase of Russian oil. President Trump also threatened more tariff hikes, called India's economy 'dead,' and New Delhi criticised the US after some aides accused India of supporting Russia's war in Singh described India's economy as the world's most 'dashing and dynamic.' He said no global power can stop India from becoming a big power due to the speed at which the country is moving pointed out that some people want to make Indian products more expensive when they reach other countries. This would stop people worldwide from buying Indian goods. He said, 'They think that we are everyone's boss and how is India moving forward so fast?'He mentioned that in 2014, India was ranked 11th in terms of economy size, but today it is counted among the top four.'If any country has a rapidly growing economy, it is our India,' he said. 'It means that the country is moving forward and its people are also moving ahead, because if the countrymen do not move forward, India cannot move forward.'Singh also spoke about defence production. Earlier, India bought defence equipment from other countries. But now, many things are made in India by Indian hands. India not only fulfils its own needs but also exports defence products to other said, 'When Narendra Modi became Prime Minister in 2014, only Rs 600 crore worth of defence products were exported. Now, we are exporting defence products worth more than Rs 24,000 crore. This is the power of India. This is the new defence sector of the new India.'Singh also referred to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in April, where 26 people were killed. This State Transfers Rs 1,100 To Over 1 Crore People—Eligibility Details Inside!

New Delhi: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday sent Rs 1,247.34 crore directly to the bank accounts of more than 1.12 crore people who get social security pensions. This follows his June 25 promise to increase the monthly pension for the elderly, widows, and disabled from Rs 400 to Rs 1,100. The first payment under the increased pension was made on July 11. Last month, there were 1.11 crore beneficiaries, and now the number has grown to 1.12 crore. 'Nobody should be left out of the benefits,' Nitish Kumar said at an event in Patna. The amount released covers six schemes — Mukhyamantri Vridhjan Pension Yojana, Indira Gandhi Old Age Pension, Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension, Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension, Laxmi Bai Social Security Pension, and Bihar State Disability Pension. Social Welfare Department secretary Bandana Preyashi said all six schemes will soon be linked to the Right to Public Service (RTPS) at the panchayat level. This means people won't have to go to block offices to apply or get help. A toll-free helpline — 18003456262 — has also been started for beneficiaries to get information or file complaints. Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, Social Welfare Minister Madan Sahni, and other senior officials were present at the event. To handle the growing number of pensioners, the social welfare department got an extra Rs 10,169 crore in the first supplementary budget for 2025–26, raising its total budget to Rs 18,837 crore. The state's overall supplementary budget was Rs 57,946 crore, passed after the original Rs 3,16,989.5 crore budget in March. Meanwhile, opposition parties have made bigger pension promises ahead of elections. RJD has promised Rs 1,500 per month, plus Rs 2,500 under its Mai-Bahin Maan Yojana. Jan Suraj Party leader Prashant Kishor has promised Rs 2,000 pensions. The Congress party has also offered Rs 2,500 monthly for women under the same Mai-Bahin Maan Yojana if it comes to power.

Hyderabad Metro's most advanced parking system set to be thrown open

Hyderabad Metro Rail's fully automated and most advanced puzzle parking system, claimed to be the first-of-its-kind in the country, is set to be opened soon, officials said on Sunday. Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) is giving final touches to the project, based on Germany's based Palis system, 'Palis' technology for a fully automated puzzle parking system. There is no human intervention as user can leave the car on the turntable and the system will automatically park it as per size of the car on any of the 10 parking floors, HMRL Managing Director NVS Reddy said on Sunday. Constructed at Nampally in the heart of the city, it's a 15-floor complex with 10 floors for parking and five floors for commercial use, including two state-of-the-art movie screens. It is the fifth such system globally and the first in India. It can accommodate 250 cars and 200 two-wheelers. HMRL has developed this project at a cost of Rs 102 crore in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode in partnership with Novum, a company owned by tech entrepreneur Harikishen Reddy and his wife Bhavana Reddy. This highly sophisticated parking project is likely to usher in parking revolution in Hyderabad and India, said NVS Reddy after a visit. Constructed on 2,000 square yards of HMRL land under a 50-year concession, the project, the facility will be made available to the public soon after receiving final approvals from various government departments. He said that following the directive of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to implement this as a world-class project, the complex is being made highly attractive. The complex comprises 15 floors, including three basements and seven upper floors, making up 10 dedicated parking levels. In addition, five floors have been allocated for commercial activities to make this project commercially viable. The complex also houses two well-equipped cinema theatres and a city-viewing gallery on the 11th floor. The automated puzzle parking system operates entirely via sensors with zero human intervention. It automatically categorises vehicles -- SUVs, sedans, and small cars -- and parks them on designated floors. Unlike mechanical parking systems in Delhi and Mumbai, this system works without pallets, making parking smoother and more efficient. The entry and exit terminals are spacious and smart, with flat turn-tables that cater to the needs of elderly individuals, women, and differently-abled users. Vehicles can be left on the turntable at any angle, and the turntable rotates 360 degrees to position them correctly, NVS Reddy added. The user experience is designed to be seamless and innovative. Upon arrival, users receive an entry ticket with a QR code (smart card) that guides them to the terminal. Swiping the card at the terminal gate opens the gate. The user then keeps the car on the turntable, applies the handbrake, turns off the engine, and exits. Swiping the card outside initiates the parking process. The system scans the vehicle, classifies it, and parks it on its own accordingly. To retrieve the vehicle, the user pays the fee at the counter, swipes the card at the I/O terminal, and the vehicle returns to the user from the parking platform.
