I'm a 70-year-old grandmother who uses dating apps every day after leaving my husband of 34 years - I'm feeling years younger (and having the best sex of my life!)

Daily Mail15-05-2025

A grandmother who is using dating apps at the age of 70 said she looks and feels decades younger - and is having the best sex of her life.
Tina Pemberton, a grandmother-of-three from London, said she's living like a teenager again.
She has been swiping right, dating and even spicing up her sex life after leaving her husband of 34 years.
She feels her later-in-life sexual awakening has even made her look and feel 'ageless'.
'I'm living life as a teenager,' Tina said. 'I embrace every new thing and I don't feel old at all.
'I feel ageless and I actually think I've become a happier person and I look better than I did 20 years ago.'
Tina said the biggest surprise has been rediscovering her sex life, and just how satisfying it can still be.
'They say as you get older you dry up a bit but I met someone who knew exactly what to do.
The grandmother-of-three said she is having the best sex of her life after leaving her husband of 34 years and moving on to a new chapter
'He used lubricants and everything to make me feel good. It worked and I could not believe it.
'I was on cloud nine. I hop-skipped, danced, jumped everywhere - it really does work.'
Tina, who once ran a restaurant in Norfolk before retiring, said every woman deserves to feel good regardless of their age.
'You see women on the train and they look miserable and you think - I know what they need,' she said. Every woman needs that at some point.'
The grandmother is now on a mission to break the taboo around older women and intimacy.
Her openness about sex led to her becoming one of Lovehoney's first 'Queen Bees' - a senior sex advisor on a brand's new expert panel aimed at breaking the stigma around sex and ageing.
Now, she is using that platform to encourage other women to embrace their desires without shame.
She feels society is far too quick to dismiss older women, especially when it comes to love, sex and dating.
Tina (pictured here when she was younger) once ran a restaurant in Norfolk before she decided to retire
'I just find it very silly,' she continued.
'People see your age on a dating app and don't even consider going out with you.
'Why do they think that a human being should change their feelings?
'Forget about the wrinkles and think about the twinkles.'
After 34 years of marriage, Tina realised something was missing and made the brave decision to start anew eight years ago.
'I left my husband and I came to London from the countryside,' she said.
'There was a big age gap - he was 18 years older - and it suddenly didn't work.
'I was full of energy, wanting to do things, and living in the country didn't do it for me.
'I really wanted to be active again rather than living my life as a pensioner.'
Tina ended her marriage, left her quiet life in Norfolk and moved to London to live with her 31-year-old son Josh.
She was enjoying nights at the theatre and going out with friends when someone suggested she try online dating.
'I started getting matches and going out on dates,' she said. 'I had never been on dating apps in my life.'
But it wasn't long before she found herself with a busy social life and plenty of stories to tell.
Tina said she's dated men older, younger and her own age - but not all of them have impressed her.
She said: 'It's been interesting to see how men my age are still playing games.
'I hadn't dated since my 20s and I was quite shocked.
Tina regularly posts about her journey online - she wants to break down the taboo of older women and sexual intimacy
'They don't mature; they just still expect the same things.
'One guy met me and immediately grabbed hold of my hand. I didn't even know him.'
Some of Tina's other dates have been memorable for all the wrong reasons.
'There was one I spoke to a long time on the phone before I met him for a coffee,' Tina remembered.
'When I saw him sitting waiting for me, I just knew it was wrong - I didn't even want to go there.
'I had nothing to say to him and I'm a very chatty person. It was really embarrassing.'
Tina said there was one man who even brought up his digestion problems over dinner.
She recalled: 'We were having dinner and he started talking about his bowel movements. I don't really want to know.
'Constipation and this, that or the other - it really put me off my food.'
Tina has now been on dozens of dates but says the most meaningful connections have happened off the apps.
She said: 'Funnily enough, the people I've actually had something to do with have not been through dating apps but through people who introduced us.
'A couple led to things and we went out once or twice. It's strange but exciting.'
Tina decided to sign up to TikTok to talk about her best and worst dates and to encourage other older women to start dating again.
Some dates fizzled out and others ghosted her but Tina said she has learned not to take it personally.
She said: 'That's when I started recording my stuff on TikTok last year, talking about bad dates and funny ones.
'I get ghosted. They can talk to me for a week and then disappear.
'It can be offensive but I've grown to understand it and I do the same now.'
Tina is open to meeting someone special, just not on anyone else's timeline.
'Maybe I don't want someone full-time or to get married again, but I would like to find a new lover - I'm not giving up on that. I know when it's right, it's right.'
The 70-year-old hopes that by being open about her experiences, she can help other women feel empowered too.
'Younger women are very inspired. They say, 'I want to be like you at your age.'
'My advice would be to not listen to anyone who tells you that you shouldn't go out and date, have a good time and have a sexual [relationship].
'I'm trying to break the taboo of older women enjoying sex and having a love life. It's very healthy - it's very good for endorphins, good for everything.'
Tina said she's not slowing down any time soon. She added: 'I would never have thought this would happen to me, and that's why it's so surprising.

Mel Gibson, 69, chows down on pasta in Rome amid work on sequel to one of his iconic films

Mel Gibson was glimpsed having a laugh while chowing down on pasta in Rome - as he develops the sequel to one of his most iconic movies. The 69-year-old actor and director has apparently traveled to the capital of Italy in order to work on his upcoming film Resurrection Of The Christ. His picture will serve as the follow-up to his self-funded 2004 sleeper hit The Passion Of The Christ, directed by Gibson and starring Jim Caviezel as Jesus. The first movie began with Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane and ended with him emerging from the tomb, so the next one will presumably cover the 40 days the Bible says he remained on earth after his return from the dead. A source said Gibson is pre-production on the new film, via TMZ, and he was spotted indulging in the local cuisine in a restaurant on his downtime. When he noticed that he was being observed, he mischievously goofed off a bit, pulling extravagant faces and grinning broadly. The Braveheart star cut a casual figure during his latest outing, opting for a black V-neck t-shirt and a matching set of trousers. Jazzing up the ensemble with a necklace, the Apocalypto director slung a fashionable set of gleaming sunglasses from his shirt. The sighting comes just weeks after Gibson enjoyed an onstage reunion with Danny Glover, his co-star in another one of his legendary pictures, Lethal Weapon. The co-stars were onstage at a fan expo in Philadelphia, during which they fielded questions about the hugely successful Lethal Weapon franchise and its previously announced and long delayed fifth instalment, which will be directed by Gibson. Glover, 78 - whose Detective Roger Murtaugh famously claimed he was 'too old for this s**t' in all four Lethal Weapon instalments - was back in the spotlight some three years after his last screen appearance in 2022 black comedy American Dreamer. Joining the veteran star, Gibson, 69 - Murtagh's unpredictable and highly volatile partner Martin Riggs - showed off an enormous, greying beard as he took to his seat at the Pennsylvania Convention Center during Saturday's expo. Gibson previously confirmed that long-time co-star Danny will make an appearance in the latest film, reprising his role as LAPD Sergeant Murtaugh. The Australian star also told how he asked for Glover's blessing to direct the movie following the death of director Richard Donner - who took charge of the first four films. A source said Gibson is pre-production on the new film, via TMZ The Braveheart star cut a casual figure during his latest outing The co-stars were onstage at a fan expo in Philadelphia, during which they fielded questions about the hugely successful Lethal Weapon franchise Reiterating his intention to direct the feature in 2022, Gibson told Entertainment Tonight: 'Yeah, I am directing that. I'm really looking forward to it.' The star went on to add that his place behind the camera was bittersweet following the death of Donner in 2021. He added: 'I wish I wasn't directing it. I wish Richard Donner was still here to do it but left us untimely, and he actually asked me, he said "Hey kid, if I don't make it, you'll take the reins, huh?" I told him to shut up. 'I think it's an honor for me to be able to carry the flag for him'. And after getting Richard's blessing, Gibson told how he then turned to Glover to ask his thoughts on him directing, also confirming that his former co-star had agreed to reprise his iconic role. Gibson added: 'I called Danny [Glover] up, of course, and said "Hey, dude, is it okay with you if I direct this?", to which Glover replied "Yeah, let's go". He also insisted on having complete faith in Glover, adding: 'I know Danny's going to pull it off real well, too. He's kind of like the show pony in this one'. Gibson made the big announcement about the new film in 2021, where he began his address by paying tribute to the filmmaker who had previously spearheaded the action-comedy franchise. Gibson featured in the Lethal Weapon movies as the unpredictable and highly volatile partner of the Donald Glover character Gibson also recalled that the filmmaker had given him his blessing to continue the series in the future 'The man who directed all the Lethal films, Richard Donner, he was a big guy,' he expressed. Gibson also recalled that the filmmaker had given him his blessing to continue the series in the future. He remarked that Donner 'was developing the screenplay and he got pretty far along with it. And he said to me one day, "Listen kid, if I kick the bucket you will do it." And I said: "Shut up."' Gibson then noted that the filmmaker made a point of telling various individuals that the actor was more than capable of keeping the franchise going after his death. 'But he did indeed pass away. But he did ask me to do it and at the time I didn't say anything. He said it to his wife and to the studio and the producer. So I will be directing the fifth one.' It's understood that plans to shoot the new film are now underway after years of delays, with original screenwriter Shane Black also onboard. The film franchise also spawned a TV series, which ran for three seasons for 2021 with Clayne Crawford as Riggs and Damon Wayans as Murtaugh.

Luann de Lesseps 'engagement' status exposed as new boyfriend is revealed

Luann de Lesseps ' love life is taking an intriguing new turn. has learned the countess is not currently engaged despite recent rumors, however she is dating Hamptons real estate salesperson Michael Riemerschmid. The couple was recently seen sharing a passionate kiss as they picked up their mail, and by the looks of things, Riemerschmid definitely appeared smitten as he wrapped his arms around her. has contacted Riemerschmid and representatives for de Lesseps, 60, for comment. Adorably, Riemerschmid is already following his new lady love on social media, however the RHONY alum has yet to return the gesture. The dating rumors sprung up earlier this week after de Lesseps was seen wearing an accessory that looked suspiciously like an engagement ring. However, a source told Page Six that the ring was a gift from one of her suitors on her new Bravo dating show, Love Hotel. 'It's not a diamond. It's an aquamarine that one of her suitors from the show gave her. It didn't fit right so she put it on her ring finger,' the source said. Riemerschmid even attended an event in place of Luann, who was out of town for a wellness retreat with her daughter, Page Six reports. He dropped by a Memorial Day weekend event for Grey/Ven x Aroma360 with Andre Bojanic, who is dating Luann's daughter. A source told Page Six Riemerschmid described himself as Luann's boyfriend and was 'sent' there by the RHONY alum to support her friend Dorinda Medley, whose DJ stylings were being featured at the event. According to his bio online, Riemerschmid enjoys fishing and has a background in Wall Street. de Lesseps has really been putting herself out there lately to find love. She is one of the Bravolebrities looking for love on the inaugural season of the Bravo series Love Hotel, which is now airing. She wore the same jumpsuit that she sported at the Echo Valley premiere on Wednesday night However, clearly Luann didn't find her match with any of the suitors, instead linking up with Michael at some point. de Lesseps previously revealed to reporter Derek Zagami that she went on a date with a 62-year-old model. 'He continues to model to this day, does very well, is the salt-and-pepper gray,' de Lesseps said back in February. The reality star described the man who she went out as a 'husband commercial type of guy, but very nice.' Before that date, the Berlin, Connecticut-born celebrity was linked with Southern Hospitality personality Joe Bradley, 28. In January, an insider told Us Weekly that the pair appeared to be cozy while spending time with one another at New York City's Dream Hotel. The two were 'all over each other,' a source said, after a January 24 Watch What Happens Live taping. The next month, she addressed the night out with her fellow Bravolebrity while speaking to TMZ. 'We definitely had great chemistry and we went out to have drinks - what's wrong with that?' she told the outlet. de Lesseps then acknowledged that Bradley had 'a girlfriend' but would date him if they broke up. 'Hell yeah! Are you kidding me? Well, I'm a little bit of a cougar, let's put it that way,' she admitted. Bradley addressed his relationship with de Lesseps during the Southern Hospitality reunion episode for season two, saying that there was chemistry between them, but no physical intimacy. 'This is the truth - me and Luann got a drink, and we hit it off,' Bradley said. 'I did cross a line at the hotel, but I did not kiss her. We did not hook up.' Bradley conceded he 'probably was too flirtatious' with the Big Apple socialite. Previously, de Lesseps was married to Count Alexandre de Lesseps. During their marriage they welcomed their two children, Noel and Victoria. She was also briefly married to Tom D'Agostino Jr. between 2016 to 2017.

Dragonfly review – haunting, genre-defying drama of lonely city living

Twenty years ago, Paul Andrew Williams announced himself as a smart new British talent with his ferocious gangland picture London to Brighton, and his creativity has continued in film and TV ever since. His new film is a haunted, social-realist drama with elements of Mike Leigh but also moments of thriller and even horror. Williams isn't shy of stabbing us with an old-fashioned jump scare towards the end, which in fact challenges the audiences with its refusal of categorisation. There are two superb lead performances from Andrea Riseborough and Brenda Blethyn and an outstanding supporting turn from Jason Watkins. Dragonfly is about loneliness and alienation and about the eternal mystery of other people, the fear of intimacy and the unknowable existence of urban neighbours. Elsie, played by Blethyn, is an older woman who is quite capable of independent living in her bungalow, but a recent fall and an injured wrist has meant that her middle-aged son (Watkins), all too obviously to compensate for not visiting that often, has paid for daily visits from a private agency nurses. They are overworked and not doing an especially good job. Really, she doesn't need these nurses and by enduring them, Elsie is shouldering the burden of her son's guilt. Meanwhile nextdoor neighbour Colleen, played by Riseborough, is a continuingly strange presence. She is a melancholy, withdrawn figure, evidently on benefits and living with her huge American bull terrier, uncompromisingly named Sabre. Williams shows us that she is effectively living in a kind of platonic relationship, or mariage blanc, with this dog; the film periodically gives us startling shots of Sabre's colossal body in a kind of domestic nakedness sprawled on Colleen's bed. In a manner that may be insidious or predatory or just friendly and compassionate, Colleen befriends Elsie; the latter overcomes her initial nervousness of Sabre and she appreciates Colleen's forthright offer of help. Colleen goes down to the shops to get groceries for Elsie and after a few such trips they agree that what would be easiest would be if Colleen simply gets Elsie's debit card and Elsie gives her the pin number. Of course, the film allows us to suspect the worst and then suspect the worst of ourselves for suspecting it. Colleen seems to be unhappy and damaged but well-meaning, especially when she (for a laugh) buys them both a two-way radio so they can easily keep in contact – but then uses this radio to talk to Elsie late at night and semi-intentionally to allow bewildered Elsie to hear what's happening in Colleen's house. It is a riveting dual portrait of two gloomy people who really have, in a strange and dysfunctional way, found a new way of interacting and – importantly – this is a triangular relationship: Elsie, Colleen and the vast Sabre. But with a terrible inevitability, Elsie's uptight busybody son John (Watkins) arrives and there are awful consequences to a conversation he has with Colleen which Williams only shows us in long shot, withholding the truth about what he's saying. It's a stark, fierce, wonderfully acted film. Dragonfly screened at the Tribeca film festival.
