Flau'jae Johnson is speaking out about her current relationship with Angel Reese — and it turns out, they're no longer friends.

The LSU basketball star opened up about the status of their friendship during a June 9 appearance on The Breakfast Club , revealing that things between them changed after their unforgettable 2023 NCAA championship win.
'We're not friends,' Johnson said candidly. 'But I mean, like, that bond that we had and that thing we did together — win the national championship — you can never take that away from us.'
Johnson and Reese shared a historic moment when their LSU team defeated Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes to claim the 2023 national title. On and off the court, the two appeared close, frequently supporting one another and enjoying the spotlight together. But behind the scenes, things weren't as perfect as they seemed.

'It was a lot of media, it was a lot of locker room stuff,' Johnson explained during the interview. 'Sometimes, stuff happens. You wish it didn't, but it does — and you just gotta grow.'
Although she didn't go into detail about the exact cause of the fallout, Johnson made it clear there's no bad blood, just distance. 'I support her in everything she do,' she said of Reese, who is now making headlines as a rising star with the WNBA's Chicago Sky. 'I be on social media clowning the folks that be trying to talk down on her.'

Despite not being friends anymore, Johnson's words were full of respect and admiration for her former teammate. 'I'm just proud of her,' she added. 'But like, you know, stuff happens.'

It was Clark's third career WNBA game in which she scored at least 30 points, grabbed at least five rebounds and distributed at least five assists. Kelsey Mitchell added 22 points, Lexie Hull 14, Aliyah Boston scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and reserve Sydney Colson scored 10. It was the first time this season Indiana reached triple digits. The Fever posted a 2-3 record with Clark out of the lineup with a strained quadricep. Sabrina Ionescu scored a season-high 34 points on 11-of-20 shooting including 4 for 10 from 3. Breaana Stewart scored 24 points and Nyara Sabally scored 10 apiece for the Liberty (9-1) who lost lost for the first time this season. The Liberty took a 17-6 lead before Clark took over in the last three minutes of the first quarter. She converted a three-point play with 3:06 left, then went ballistic from deep burying 3s from 33-feet, 27-feet and 31-feet in three consecutive possessions spanning 38 seconds to tie it at 24. The Fever led 53-50 at halftime before New York started the third with a 9-0 run. Indiana countered with a 17-0 run and finished the quarter up 80-71. The New York Liberty are no longer undefeated, and they can blame Caitlin Clark. Clark lit up the scoreboard in her return from injury, and the Indiana Fever beat the reigning WNBA champions, 102-88. The Liberty, who entered the game at 9-0, led by as many as 11 in the first quarter, but then Caitlin Clark happened. Clark missed five games after injuring her quad against this same Liberty team three weeks ago, but she hardly looked rusty. Clark knocked down six of her first nine 3-pointers and dropped 25 points in the first half, the most she's ever had in any half in her career. The big blow from that first half, though, was her Reggie Miller-esque stretch during which she went 3-for-3 from deep in a 38-second span. Indiana led 53-50 at the half. New York scored nine unanswered points to open the second half, but the Fever quickly answered with 19 consecutive points of their own to kick off a wild 25-3 run to lead by 16, their largest of the day. The Liberty, though, went on a 14-2 run of their own to cut their deficit to just four points. After they eventually made it a three-point game, the game of runs continued, as Indiana scored 17 of the game's next 21 points to again lead by 16. Clark was not able to continue her hot first-half shooting in the second. She scored seven points in the third quarter and went scoreless in the fourth, making just one of her five 3-pointers in the second half. But Lexie Hull, Damiris Dantas, Sydney Colson and Sophie Cunningham combined to knock down seven of 11 3-pointers (Sophie Cunningham went 3-for-10 from deep). The Fever drained 17 3-pointers, a franchise record, and Clark's seven tied a career high. Clark finished with 32 points, the second-most she's had in a WNBA game. She was one assist away from a double-double, and she also grabbed eight rebounds. Indiana went 2-3 with Clark shelved and are now 3-2 with her on the floor. Those two losses have come by a combined three points. The Fever will host the Connecticut Sun Tuesday, while New York will return to the Big Apple for a date with the Atlanta Dream.
