Basoli Group to Conclude Golden Jubilee with Grand Celebration on Sunday
Nagpur. The city's well-known children's art group, Basoli, is set to conclude its
golden jubilee celebrations
with a grand finale event on Sunday at 6.30pm at the open-air stage of Baljagat in Laxminagar.
Renowned sculptor
Bhagwan Rampure
from Solapur will be the chief guest.
Rampure is known for his iconic works, including the Bull at the Bombay Stock Exchange and the towering 108-foot statue of Adi Shankaracharya in Omkareshwar.
Dr Vedprakash Mishra, chief advisor to chancellor and Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth (KVV) Karad, will preside over the ceremony.
A major highlight of the evening will be the felicitation of dedicated Basoli supporters who have made valuable contributions across various domains and consistently supported the group's artistic journey. In addition, a special golden jubilee commemorative issue titled "
Rangarangile Chhail Chhabile
" will be launched.
This edition will showcase artistic expressions and profiles of prominent Nagpur personalities who have excelled in diverse fields, said Chandrakant Channe of Basoli.
Among those to be honoured are Madhusudan Choubey (Screen Printing), Sanjay Pendse (Theatre), Abhishek Chaurasia (Art Teacher), Raviprakash Singh (Sculpture), Shivram Muzalda (Rural Education), Shashwat Hartalkar (Children's Theatre), Sadanand Borkar (Zadi Patti Theatre), Neha Malve (Applied Arts), Nitin Kalbande (Film Making), Radha Joshi (Poet), Sadhana Shiledar (Music), Sandeep Bhalerao (Printing Arts), Shubhada Fadnavis (Anchor), Shaurya Kalbande (Child Scientist), Abdul Gaffar (Senior Artist), Nilesh Bhondve (Basoli Well-wisher), Vishnu Manohar (Food Expert), and Ram Bhakre (Senior Journalist).
Founded on May 15, 1975, Basoli has nurtured over two lakh child members over the years. To mark its 50th year, the group launched several art projects revolving around the theme of "Nilai" (blue), symbolically engaging parents, children, and grandparents in a yearlong celebration of creativity.
