1 dead, 2 hospitalized after shooting in Wimauma: HCSO
The Brief
One person is dead, and two people were hospitalized after a shooting in Wimauma, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
HCSO responded to the 3300 block of Maple Mex Street where they found one man dead and two other men suffering from gunshot wounds.
HCSO has not released any information about any possible suspects.
WIMAUMA, Fla. - One person is dead, and two others were taken to the hospital after a shooting early Saturday morning in Wimauma, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
What we know
HCSO responded to the 3300 block of Maple Mex Street where they found one man dead and two other men suffering from gunshot wounds.
Investigators say that an altercation led to the shooting.
Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister says that his team is investigating the incident to bring those involved to justice.
"Violence has no place in our neighborhoods," said Chronister. "Our team is working tirelessly to find out what happened and ensure those responsible are held accountable for this senseless act of violence."

The investigation is ongoing.
What we don't know
HCSO has not released any information about any possible suspects.
The condition of the two injured victims has not been announced.

Child sexual assault, former Waterford teacher accused
The Brief A former Waterford teacher is accused of sexually assaulting a student. Prosecutors said it happened between August 2014 and May 2015, when the victim would have been in first grade. Court filings said the victim reported it happened at school during class. WATERFORD, Wis. - A former Watertown gym teacher is accused of sexually assaulting a student roughly a decade ago. A registered sex offender today, it's not the first time he's been charged with a child sex crime. In Court Court records show 57-year-old Michael Pipp is charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child and child enticement. His bond was set at $20,000 in April. He's due back in court in August. What they're saying Prosecutors said the crimes happened between August 2014 and May 2015, when the victim would have been in first grade at St. Thomas school in Watertown. Pipp worked there as a gym teacher at the time. Court filings show the investigation began in August 2022 after the victim's mother told police that the victim had recently disclosed a sexual assault to a therapist. During a forensic interview of the victim, a criminal complaint states she said Pipp asked her to be a "special helper" during gym class and took her to a storage room where various items were kept. She said Pipp then sexually assaulted her. The victim's mother said the victim didn't disclose any abuse at that time but "began having mental health problems" and would go on to "wake up from nightmares" about Pipp. Dig deeper In September 2015, court records show Pipp was charged with repeated sexual assault of a child in Waukesha County. He later pleaded no contest to one count of causing mental harm to a child and was sentenced to prison. Wisconsin Department of Corrections records show he has since registered as a sex offender and was released on community supervision. Rachel Brosnahan joins 'Presumed Innocent' Season 2

Brosnahan also will executive produce. Season 2 of the show is based on the Jo Murray novel Dissection of a Murder. Due in 2026, Dissection is about an attorney named Leila Reynolds defending a man accused of murdering a judge. Season 1 was based on the Scott Turow novel Presumed Innocent. It starred Jake Gyllenhaal as Rusty Sabitch, a lawyer on trial for the murder of a colleague with whom he was having an affair. Turow wrote two other novels about Sabitch and others about his lawyer Sandy Stern, who replaced with a different character on the show. Aside from the choice to adapt Murray's novel, Apple is keeping plot details secret. David E. Kelley remains a showrunner with Erica Lipez. Gyllenhaal and Turow remain executive producers. This summer, Brosnahan plays Lois Lane in the new Superman movie. She recently appeared in The Amateur and previously starred in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Manhattan.
