Crystal Palace are considering Rennes talent Jeremy Jacquet should Marc Guehi join Liverpool, although that move remains very much in the balance. The Selhurst Park club have been open to selling Guehi this summer given his contract expires next year, but there has recently been a £10m difference in valuation between themselves and Liverpool. While the Anfield hierarchy are not budging from £35m, Palace are insistent on £45m. The figure is all the more important since Rennes would want £35m for Jacquet. The 20-year-old is just the latest French talent to have come out of the Bondy area in Paris, which has also produced Kylian Mbappe and scores of other pros. Jacquet was part of the team of the tournament for the under-19 European Championship last summer, where France reached the final, and made a significant impact on loan at Clermont last season. Guehi and Eberechi Eze, who is the subject of interest from Tottenham, both started Crystal Palace's Premier League draw at Chelsea on Sunday, with manager Oliver Glasner insisting that they remain fully committed to the club. 'Ebs and Marc, there has been a lot of noise about these two players in the last week,' Glasner said to Match of the Day. 'Everyone could see the performances against Liverpool and today, they were 100 per cent aligned with this team and Crystal Palace,' 'As long as they are 100 per cent committed, they will play as they are so good. I watched them all week in training, I spoke to them almost daily, maybe more than my kids and wife, but it's been worth it to talk to them. They didn't just show they are great footballers, but they are great people and that's what I expected.'

'We have to expect to win home games'
Glentoran manager Declan Devine says his side must become accustomed to winning their home games as they prepare to host Glenavon at the Oval on Tuesday Glens' home form was disappointing last term but they managed to follow up their 1-0 win on the road against Portadown with a victory by a similar scoreline on their own patch against Premiership new boys Bangor on signing Ryan Cooney scored the only goal of the game in the success over the Seasiders."It's a good start, but we've got to dust down and be ready for Tuesday," reflected Devine in an interview with BBC Sport NI after the match."Every time we play here [at home] we've got to expect to win games. That's something we have to look at now and is something we can do again on Tuesday."It's very early in the season. A lot of clubs, including ourselves, are finding their way. "We have to look to get better than Saturday. I felt that on Saturday we were better than last week and I hope that on Tuesday night we are better than today again."The Glens boss was satisfied with his team's performance against Bangor but expects improvement in attack."Really pleased with the application of the players and how we moved the ball and the control that they put into the game. Just looking for a little more in the final third but that will come."I would have liked a wee bit more penetration, especially the couple of chances we had in the first half. Their keeper made a wonder save from Jordan Stewart."For all the dominance we had I would have liked to add a couple of goals. But it's a new group playing a new way and I have to give every single player that played a lot of credit."Devine is happy with the make-up of his squad."We've assembled a squad but we've high-level players not available. Callum Hudson-Odoi to sign new Nottingham Forest deal – he has proved a £3m bargain
Callum Hudson-Odoi is signing a new contract with Nottingham Forest after the club took their summer spending past £145m. Hudson-Odoi, a £3m buy from Chelsea in September 2023, has committed his future to Nuno Espirito Santo's squad to provide the club with another boost. The England international was out of contract at the end of this season but Forest have reached an agreement and confirmation is expected in the next 48 hours. Hudson-Odoi has proved a huge success since ending his long association with Chelsea, emerging as a key player in Nuno's plans to disrupt the top six. Forest have also completed their seventh summer signing with the £26m capture of French forward Arnaud Kalimuendo from Rennes. He underwent a medical over the weekend and arrives in Nottingham with his reputation high after an impressive season in Ligue 1. Omari Hutchinson, Dan Ndoye, James McAtee, Igor Jesus, Jair Cunha and Angus Gunn have all arrived this summer, with more new signings to come. Forest will now aim to strengthen in the full-backs and midfield positions as they prepare for their return to European football for the first time in nearly 30 years. Nuno will be without a number of players towards the end of the year during the Africa Cup of Nations, with Ola Aina and Ibrahim Sangare two of the most likely absentees with Nigeria and the Ivory Coast respectively. And the business may not be over yet. Southampton's Mateus Fernandes and Juventus's Douglas Luiz are two midfielders who have emerged as potential targets for Forest. Talks have also been held with AC Milan over a possible deal for United States international Yunus Musah, though negotiations are proving slow. Forest will also look to trim their squad before the transfer deadline. Goalkeeper Carlos Miguel is set to sign for Palmeiras and winger Jota Silva has strong interest from Sporting Lisbon. Meanwhile, midfielder Nico Dominguez is expected to be absent for up to six weeks after scans on a knee ligament injury on Friday afternoon. Dominguez sustained the injury in the final game of last season against Chelsea and it is understood that Forest did fear an even longer setback. Forest have helped Hudson-Odoi fulfil potential Hudson-Odoi's new contract is another huge positive for Nuno, who has stressed that retaining the core of his squad is just as important as signing players. The winger has been a revelation since leaving Chelsea, performing brilliantly last season as Forest became the Premier League's surprise package. Signed for an initial £3m, he must be one of the shrewdest bargains made by any club in the last few years. It feels like Hudson-Odoi has been around for ages, after first breaking through at Chelsea as a teenager. Yet he will only turn 25 in November and has his peak years ahead of him. He joins Morgan Gibbs-White, Murillo, Chris Wood, Neco Williams, Ola Aina and Matz Sels in becoming the latest player to agree new terms at the City Ground.
