Dog attack in Windsor leads to death of animal
A dog attack in the west end of Windsor is under investigation by police, after a pit bull-rottweiler mix bit a woman's hand and was stabbed by an individual to stop the attack on June 6. At approximately 10 p.m., officers responded to a dog attack in the 600 block of Joseph Street. Multiple individuals were attempting to restrain a dog, and others were assisting a woman with significant injuries on her left arm and hand. After investigating, officers learned the woman intervened in a fight between her two dogs inside her residence. The fight continued outside, and when she tried to separate the dogs, one of them bit her hand and didn't let go. Several bystanders intervened and one individual stabbed the dog to stop the attack. Police used control poles to restrain the dog, and Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was called to the scene.
