Rajasthan Royals In Awe Of Sanju Samson's Stunning Catch, Social Media Post Goes Viral
Sanju Samson impressed in a Kerala Cricket Association T20 match with a one-handed catch. Despite trade rumors, Rajasthan Royals shared the clip on social media.
Sanju Samson had a great outing in the exhibition T20 match, organised by the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) on Friday. The game was played at the Greenfield Stadium, which was a curtain-raiser for the Kerala Cricket League (KCL) Season 2, played between the KCA President's XI, led by Sachin Baby, and the KCA Secretary's XI, which featured Samson.
A fan from the stands captured a stunning moment and shared it online, later reposted by the Rajasthan Royals. Facing a left-arm off-spinner, the opposition batter attempted a forward drive but got an edge that flew to first slip, where Samson pulled off a spectacular one-handed catch with his left arm, tumbling to the ground after completing it.
The Royals captioned the clip 'Air Samson," while fans in the stadium were left in awe of the breathtaking effort.
According to the Times of India, President's XI posted 184 for 8, following Rohan Kunnummal's blazing 29-ball 60 and Abhijith Praveen's brisk 47. Among the bowlers, Sharafudden stood out with figures of 3 for 25. In reply, Secretary's XI began strongly as Vishnu Vinod smashed 69 off just 29 balls.
After the fiery start, Sanju Samson held the innings together with a steady 54 from 36 deliveries. His dismissal, when only 13 runs were needed, brought some tense moments, but Basil Thampi sealed the chase in style by clearing the boundary to secure a thrilling one-wicket win with two balls left.
Samson-RR Saga
Several media reports have claimed that Samson has expressed his willingness to leave Rajasthan Royals ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction. Several franchises are believed to be in talks, with RR co-owner Manoj Badale personally handling discussions.
However, amid the rumours, RR sharing Samson's video seems to be crashing the trade rumours.
It has also been learned that the Chennai Super Kings were linked to him, but their unwillingness to part ways with key players like Ravindra Jadeja or Ruturaj Gaikwad makes that move unlikely.
