Rashford, it is understood, remains nothing short of desperate to take his talents to Barcelona with a view to next season.
Despite the Blaugrana focusing their efforts firmly on the signature of Athletic Club standout Nico Williams, the out-of-favour Man United man is of the opinion that he too could benefit the cause in Hansi Flick's squad.
Rashford, through his entourage, therefore made fresh contact with Deco and co. over recent days.
This came to reiterate both his eagerness to join forces, and willingness to remain patient over the weeks and months ahead.
Barcelona, for their part, are open to a deal for Rashford under the right conditions, viewing the 27-year-old as a potential market opportunity.

Fabrizio Romano confirms Serie A club Como 'have tried to sign' Man United's Antony 'in recent days'
Serie A outfit Serie A have made an attempt to sign Manchester United winger Antony over the past few days, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed. Antony failed to live up to the massive £86m fee United forked out to secure his services from Ajax in the summer of 2022. Advertisement He registered only 12 goals and five assists in 96 appearances for the Red Devils, but a short loan stint with Real Betis in Spain seems to have reignited his form. Antony enjoyed a dramatic improvement in fortunes under Manuel Pellegrini, notching 14 goals contributions in 26 appearances – just five shy of his entire United tally in nearly a quarter of the time. The Brazilian has made no secret of his desire to continue with Betis, who are also working to try and agree a deal with United. Such is Antony's eagerness to return to Seville that he is reportedly willing to accept a 30% pay cut to make the move happen. Advertisement But Los Verdiblancos are not the only club eyeing Antony. He has also been linked to Juventus, Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid. A report covered by The Peoples Person earlier this week relayed that Antony is also of interest to Premier League teams, with Brentford and Aston Villa having enquired about the conditions of a transfer. But, they were told that his top priority is Betis. Now, Romano has revealed that a new club has entered the fray for the 25-year-old, Como. Romano wrote on X, 'Italian side Como have tried to sign Antony in the recent days but Brazilian winger is giving priority to Real Betis return.' Advertisement 'Man United are also aware of Antony's preference to continue at Betis next season, no club to club agreement yet.' If United are unable to strike a compromise with Betis, then the Red Devils can rest assured that there will be no shortage of suitors for the forward. Antony is not thought to have a future at Old Trafford. There have even been suggestions that Ruben Amorim will not include him in the club's pre-season squad. Report – 19-year-old La Masia talent set to be Barcelona's third-choice goalkeeper next season
With FC Barcelona securing the signing of Joan Garcia, it will set off a chain reaction in the goalkeeping department – a domino effect of necessary decisions, including some difficult ones. Garcia has signed with Barcelona until 2031 and will be installed as the first-choice goalkeeper in all likelihood, which puts incumbent Marc-Andre ter Stegen in a difficult position. Advertisement The Blaugrana, for their part, are prepared to offload the German international with Wojciech Szczesny, renewal pending, expected to take up the second-choice role. Diego Kochen to be the third choice? Inaki Pena is also on his way out, in search of regular game-time, having fallen out of favour this season. As such, SPORT reports that the responsibility of being the third-choice goalkeeper in the Barcelona first team is expected to fall on Diego Kochen. Though the American did not have a standout season with Barça Atletic, the Blaugrana still consider him a strong long-term prospect. Kochen to be Garcia, Szczesny's understudy. (Photo by) Advertisement Kochen featured 16 times for the reserve team this term, conceding 26 goals in the process as they ended up getting relegated from the RFEF Primera Division. At 19, though, the American talent is still developing. While a loan is not completely ruled out, he is expected to serve as the third-choice keeper this season. If Kochen progresses and proves reliable, he could move up to the second-choice role next year once Szczesny's contract expires. The teenage shot-stopper's contract with Barcelona runs until 2028 and will hope to make an impression on Hansi Flick & co. so as to earn a promotion next year. Meanwhile, Aron Yaakobishvili is likely to take over the mantle of the starting goalkeeper for Barça Atletic with Ander Astralaga expected to leave on loan.
