Manga Arabia Partners with Japan's Coamix to Translate Popular Works into Arabic
Manga Arabia has signed a strategic agreement with Japan's Coamix Inc. to license and translate two of Japan's most popular manga titles into Arabic.
The partnership aims to provide high-quality content that respects local culture while meeting the expectations of readers across the Arab world.
By bringing global experiences to the region in a culturally resonant language, the initiative enriches Arabic literary content and boosts its international presence.
This collaboration is part of Manga Arabia's broader strategic development plan. The company recently launched its online store, featuring more than 40 titles of original and international works produced by Manga Arabia.
It also introduced a sales network that includes delivery application services, making it the first platform to offer manga volumes through such apps.
Manga Arabia has also announced that its app user base has surpassed 12 million users across more than 195 countries worldwide.
To further strengthen its global presence, the company has launched its international division, Manga International, and established its official headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. This move is designed to expand Manga Arabia's international influence and foster stronger relationships within the Japanese manga industry.

In this context, Saudi Ambassador to Japan and Commissioner General of the Saudi Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka Dr. Ghazi Faisal Binzagr said that Saudi-Japanese relations have grown and strengthened over the past 70 years. 'The relations go beyond a mere economic partnership to reflect the depth and diversity of our ties. Today, we build on the strength of the past and harness the momentum of the present to jointly shape a new vision for the future,' the ambassador said. 'With Expo 2025 taking place in Osaka and Saudi Arabia hosting Expo 2030 in Riyadh, our two countries stand at the forefront of global exchange, showcasing the latest innovations and sustainable technologies, and contributing to shaping an inclusive future for all.' The Saudi Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka hosts hundreds of business events aimed at strengthening trade and investment relations between the Kingdom and Japan. These include presentations led by the Ministries of Investment and Commerce, as well as events highlighting the trade and investment opportunities offered by Saudi Vision 2030. Trade volume between the two countries has grown significantly over the past decade, rising from $33.4 billion to over $41 billion currently. The Saudi Pavilion aims to increase the number of Japanese visitors to the Kingdom, targeting 30,000 annual visitors before Expo 2030 Riyadh. This is part of the comprehensive Saudi-Japan Vision 2030 strategy, which includes more than 80 projects across nine sectors: culture, food and agricultural security, media and entertainment, healthcare, advanced infrastructure, finance and investment, competitive industries, energy, small and medium enterprises, sports, and education. Cultural exchange between the two countries has flourished, highlighted by Saudi Arabia's role in bringing Japanese culture to the Middle East through local manga studios, whose works will be showcased at the Saudi Pavilion in August. The Saudi Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka offers more than 700 diverse and engaging events, including daily shows and live performing arts. Since the Expo opened in April 2025, it has attracted over 500,000 visitors. On September 23, it is expected to host a variety of events and presentations in celebration of Saudi National Day.

SFDA elected to Management Committee of MedDRA, the 6th global regulatory body
Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — In a move that highlights Saudi Arabia's growing prominence in global pharmaceutical governance, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has been officially elected to the Management Committee of the Medical Dictionary for Regulatory Activities (MedDRA). The authority has thus become the sixth regulatory authority worldwide to join this prestigious global medical body. This election marks a pivotal milestone for both Saudi Arabia and the international scientific community, reflecting global confidence in the SFDA's regulatory excellence and the Kingdom's strategic role in advancing international harmonization in drug safety and medical product oversight. MedDRA, developed by the International Council for Harmonization of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH), is a globally recognized standard for coding and analyzing safety data across the lifecycle of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical products. It plays a central role in regulatory communication, post-market surveillance, clinical trial reporting, and signal detection. SFDA's election to the MedDRA Steering committee was confirmed during the ICH Management Committee meeting held in Madrid, Spain, from May 11–12, 2025. With this appointment, SFDA joins a group of regulators, including the European Commission, U.S. FDA, UK MHRA, Health Canada, Japan's MHLW and PMDA, alongside the World Health Organization (WHO), which participates as an observer. Among its most impactful contributions is the linguistic and technical leadership demonstrated in the translation and validation of over 20,000 MedDRA terms into Arabic—a landmark initiative completed between May and October 2022. This achievement significantly facilitates the implementation of MedDRA across Arabic-speaking regions and enhances inclusive pharmacovigilance throughout the MENA region. Saudi FM Arrives in Jordan for Gaza Meeting
The Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, has arrived in Amman, the capital of Jordan, to participate in a meeting on Gaza, according to the Saudi Foreign Ministry. On Saturday, Prince Faisal bin Farhan landed in Amman to take part in a meeting of the Ministerial Committee assigned by the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit on the developments in the Gaza Strip. The meeting will explore ways to support efforts to end the war and blockade on Gaza. The meeting originally aimed to coordinate a visit to Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, scheduled on Sunday. However, the visit was postponed due to Israel's decision to prevent the Arab delegation from meeting the President of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, according to Jordan's Foreign Ministry. The delegation, which include the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, Jordan and the UAE, condemned the Israeli ban as a 'blatant violation' of Israel's obligations as an occupying power. The Saudi Foreign Minister traveled to Jordan right after an official visit to Syria, where he met with the Syrian Transitional President, Ahmed Al-Sharaa, in Damascus. Prince Faisal was accompanied by a high-level economic delegation to discuss avenues for joint cooperation aimed at supporting Syria's economy, enhancing the development of its governmental institutions, and fulfilling the aspirations of the Syrian people, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said in a statement. The discussions led to the announcement of a Saudi-Qatari joint financial support package for Syrian public sector employees for three months, according to Saudi Gazette. 'This support aims to contribute to economic and social stability, improve living conditions, and reinforce development efforts in Syria,' Saudi Arabia and Qatar said in a joint statement.
