Chris Robinson, of General Hospital and Bold and Beautiful, Dead at 86
Veteran actor Chris Robinson, whom daytime-TV fans know well from his runs as General Hospital's Dr. Rick Webber and The Bold and the Beautiful's Jack Hamilton, died on June 9 at age 86.
'He peacefully passed in his sleep at his ranch near Sedona, Arizona,' actor MJ Allen, who co-starred with Robinson in the 2022 indie Just for a Week, shared on Facebook. 'He had been in heart failure for some time, and is his official cause of death.'

Robinson's career began in the 1960s with one-offs on myriads TV programs such as Sea Hunt, Death Valley Days, 77 Sunset Strip, Gunsmoke and The Fugitive.
In 1967, he landed his first series regular role, on the ABC military drama 12 O'Clock High (where in Seasons 2 and 3 he played Sgt. Alexander 'Sandy' Komansky).
Guest spots on The Man from UN.C.L.E., Hogan's Heroes, Medical Center, Barnaby Jones and many other TV series followed, before Robinson joined ABC's General Hospital in 1978 as Dr. Rick Webber, who eventually factored into a torrid love quadrangle with wife Dr. Lesley Webber (the late Denise Alexander), Dr. Monica Quartermaine (the late Leslie Charleson) and Monica's husband Alan (the late Stuart Damon).
During his GH run, Robinson became known for a wink-wink series of 'I'm Not a Doctor, But I Play One on TV' commercials for Vicks Formula 44.
Following his initial eight-year GH stint, Robinson played Jason Frame on NBC's Another World, and then Jack Hamilton on CBS' B&B. His most recent acting credit was the aforementioned indie Just for a Week.
His other film credits included The Young Savages and Birdman of Alcatraz, both of which starred Burt Lancaster.
Robinson is survived by his wife of 14 years, Jacquie; sons Shane, Coby, Christian, Taylor, Christopher Robinson, Christopher Lance and Robb Walker; and five grandchildren.

Why General Hospital's new Michael is already a success in my book
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. I know some General Hospital fans will say I'm jumping the gun here, but despite Rory Gibson only officially stepping into the role of Michael Corinthos as of May 23, he's already won me over. In fact, I won't even be shocked if Gibson becomes my favorite, and I don't say that lightly, considering how much I respect Chad Duell's tenure. So if you're wondering how I could make such bold proclamations this early, let's start with the subtleties of the way Gibson carries himself in the role. As some General Hospital viewers have noted, Gibson's walk as Michael remarkably resembles the walk of the Dimpled Kingpin himself, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). The storyteller in me can't help but wonder if this was a purposefully orchestrated move on the part of Gibson and the General Hospital team, possibly signaling that this version of Michael will take on more attributes of his father this go-around. I've always said that the Michael character as a whole can be as methodical and vengeful as his father, but he didn't share his dad's willingness to resort to deadly means to get a job done. However, given that Michael has suffered relentless blows to his family thanks to Drew (Cameron Mathison) and almost lost his life thanks most likely to Sidwell (Carlo Rota), perhaps Michael's more dangerous nature has been activated. With Sonny inching closer to retirement and a more 'above-board' lifestyle these days, I think it could be rather entertaining to see Michael pick up the Corinthos mantle to a degree (I would just hope Michael does a better job of protecting his kids from enemies if this proves to be the case). Gibson is also winning me over on General Hospital because of the way he presents Michael as a doting father. Not that Duell was unbelievable as a dad, but Gibson off the bat, has arguably had more impactful scenes with his children, mainly Wiley (Viron Weaver). Heck, Wiley running off the stage into Michael's arms at the end of the 2025 Nurses Ball was one of the highlights of the very dramatic affair. Then, in the General Hospital episode airing on May 27, Michael tucked Wiley into bed, explaining how much he loved his son, and my heartstrings were tugged on a bit. I may not have cried, but I won't pretend as if I weren't moved. Lastly, it's worth noting that despite the "new Michael' not having many interactions with Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Drew yet, I'm already getting the sense that he's ready to give #Drillow all they have coming to them. Considering Drew has seemed to outwit his opponents at every turn lately, even Tracy (Jane Elliot), I'm excited to see Gibson's Michael take down the tawdry couple, especially his uncle. Based on the following preview clip for the episodes airing during the week of May 26, Michael doesn't appear to be in the business of extending grace. Again, also a sign that Michael may become more like his father. All in all, I'm going to have to applaud the powers that be at General Hospital for the decision to cast Gibson. He's a great actor, and if you didn't know that from watching him as Noah on The Young and the Restless, it looks like you'll get to find out watching Gibson's Michael continue making a splash in Port Charles. Soaps Shocker: Erika Slezak Joins General Hospital! Here's What We Know So Far
Daytime-TV royalty is returning home. The great Erika Slezak — a record-holding six-time Daytime Emmy winner for her run as One Life to Live's Viki (and sometimes Niki et al) — has inked a short-term deal to appear on ABC's General Hospital. 'Erika has just informed me she has signed a short-term contract with ABC's General Hospital,' Miller posted to on Thursday. 'At this time, Erika does not know which character she will be playing or when her scenes will air, but [she] is excited to be working again with executive producer Frank Valentini and the cast of GH!' Valentini was the boss at OLTL from 2003 until its very end. 'I am thrilled to confirm that my dear friend and former One Life to Live colleague, Erika Slezak, will appear on General Hospital this fall,' Valentini confirmed via X. 'Stay tuned as we prepare to introduce another daytime legend to Port Charles.' The daughter of Tony Award-winning Austrian actor Walter Slezak (but no relation to TVLine alumni Michael), Slezak famously first auditioned for All My Children and the role of nurse Mary Kennicott back in 1971 — albeit unsuccessfully. Instead, and fortuitously, she was offered the role of OLTL's Victoria 'Viki' Lord Riley. She made her OLTL debut in 1971, and stuck with it until 2013 — including as part of the show's short-lived, dying breath on Prospect Park's The Online Network. Slezak earned her first Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 1983, grabbed gold for the first time the following year, and then claimed Emmys again in 1986, 1992, 1995 and 1996. (Yes, she holds the record for most wins in the Outstanding Lead Actress category.)
