Operation Sindoor sends clear message against Pak-sponsored terrorism: Raghav Chadha
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha declared that India's Operation Sindoor has sent a 'loud and clear message' to the world: India will strike deep to dismantle terror safe havens and will not tolerate Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.
Speaking to an audience of international leaders, diplomats, and policymakers at the event often dubbed the 'Davos of the East,' Chadha emphasized India's steadfast commitment to fighting terrorism with resolve and purpose.
'Operation Sindoor was not just a military strike—it was a message,' Chadha asserted. 'India does not seek conflict, but will never shy away from defending its people. Zero tolerance is India's new doctrine.'
He underscored that while India continues to grieve for victims of terrorism, the nation has responded with 'unprecedented resolve.' The operation, which targeted and dismantled terror infrastructure deep within hostile territory, marks a significant shift in India's strategic approach, Chadha said.
Chadha called upon the international community to stand united against what he described as a 'persistent and dangerous threat' posed by Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. 'We must come together to ensure that such infrastructure finds no shelter anywhere in the world,' he urged.
The MP also drew on India's historical duality of peace and resistance, invoking Mahatma Gandhi's principles of non-violence alongside the valor of freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh and Subhash Chandra Bose. 'Our commitment to peace is strong, but so is our resolve to resist tyranny and violence,' he said.
India launched Operation Sindoor in the early hours of May 7 when the army and IAF hit nine terror camps inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, killing more than 100 terrorists. And between the strikes on the terror sites and the calling of the ceasefire on May 10, the IAF struck multiple military targets in Pakistan.
The nine terror camps hit by the Indian forces with a mix of missiles and smart munitions included Markaz Subhanallah in Bahawalpur, Markaz Taiba near Muridke, Mehmoona Joya in Sialkot, Sawai Nala and Syed Na Bilal in Muzaffarabad, Gulpur and Abbas in Kotli, Barnala in Bhimber, and Sarjal.
The IAF struck targets at 13 airbases and military installations in Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, Chunian, Pasrur, Sialkot, Skardu, Sargodha, Jacobabad, Bholari and Malir Cantt in Karachi; the worst hit that Pakistan took after the 1971 war.

2 days after rape and murder of minor girl, accused still at large

House session starts with tributes to terror victims
1 2 Kolkata: Bengal assembly convened its two week-long monsoon session on Monday and offered condolences to victims of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack . As the House assembled, speaker Biman Banerjee condoled the deaths of 26 people. Obituary references were also made to the deaths of Bollywood actor Manoj Kumar, Tehatta MLA Tapas Saha and Kaliganj MLA Nasiruddin Ahamed. Everyone observed a one-minute silence. Full-fledged legislative business will commence on Tuesday with a resolution condemning the terror attack and hailing the armed forces. CM Mamata Banerjee is likely to participate in the two-hour discussion. Biman said while Parliament failed to acknowledge Operation Sindoor's significance, state assembly would formally express its gratitude towards the forces. However, the name 'Operation Sindoor' will not be directly referred to in the resolution, a TMC senior said. BJP has insisted on mentioning 'Operation Sindoor' in the discussion, its chief whip Shankar Ghosh said. On Monday, BJP protested the non-inclusion of names of two victims of Murshidabad riots in the condolence message. Later, around 30 BJP MLAs offered condolences to them. LOP Suvendu Adhikari has demanded a special session on Murshidabad. Taking a jibe at BJP, Biman said: "They are more comfortable expressing themselves before the media than participating in the House."

Govt. to plant 70 lakh saplings this year: CM Rekha Gupta
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday planted a 'sindoor' sapling at a government school in Shalimar Bagh and said the country's military response to the Pahalgam terror attack was a reflection of our 'national spirit'. She inaugurated the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0' campaign at the school in Shalimar Bagh and said that the Delhi government is planning to plant 70 lakh saplings this year. This comes days Ms. Gupta assured her commitment to sustainable urban development and environmental conservation on World Environment Day. 'Our resolve is to make Delhi not just a Capital but a symbol of greenery, cleanliness and compassion. For this purpose, a target of planting 70 lakh saplings has been set this year so that a green and healthy Delhi can be provided to the coming generations,' the CM said in an X post. She said that planting saplings is 'one of the few ways to combat pollution'. She planted a sindoor tree as part of the campaign, thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the armed forces for 'ensuring the dignity of our sisters through 'Operation Sindoor''. 'This tree is a symbol of a mother's love and our nation's spirit,' she said.
