
'UAE Future 50' spotlights high-potential Emirati startups
'UAE Future 50' was launched in Dubai in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence.
It has been jointly developed by the Government Development and the Future Office along with the Ministry of Economy,
The initiative highlights 50 Emirati-led startups operating in 15 future-focused sectors such as fintech, healthtech, space, cybersecurity, renewable energy and smart mobility.
The goal is to accelerate innovation, diversify the national economy, and support a new generation of entrepreneurs driving progress across key industries.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasised the UAE's commitment to creating a supportive environment for startups and innovators, aligning with the country's We the UAE 2031 vision.
He praised Emirati entrepreneurs for their role in building a globally competitive economy and called for more young people to embrace entrepreneurship.
'UAE Future 50' builds on the success of the earlier Future 100 initiative, continuing efforts to recognise high-impact ventures and celebrate national talent.

UAE, Philippines discuss strengthening private sector cooperation, investment ties
The United Arab Emirates and the Philippines are boosting private sector cooperation following the bilateral agreement Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) in July, a deal designed to ease trade and increase investment across key industries. UAE Minister of Foreign Trade His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi met with the Philippines Business Council – Dubai and Northern Emirates to discuss strengthening partnerships between companies in both countries. 'The Philippines is a key trading partner for the UAE in the growing ASEAN region, and we are committed to fostering stronger ties at all levels,' HE Dr. Al Zeyoudi said through WAM. 'Our discussions today aim to explore private sector opportunities, identify areas for greater collaboration, and address any challenges faced by Philippines businesses operating in the UAE or by their Emirati counterparts operating in the Philippine market.' Enhancing trade and investment opportunities Under CEPA, both countries aim to enhance cooperation in agriculture, manufacturing, financial services, and electrical equipment. The agreement is also expected to lift trade barriers and encourage more investment flow. The UAE remains the Philippines' top export market in the Arab and African regions and ranks 17th globally. According to reports, non-oil trade between the UAE and the Philippines reached US$940 million in 2024 and continued to grow in 2025, with US$257.7 million recorded in the first quarter alone. Economic projections indicate the UAE's GDP could grow by US$2.4 billion under CEPA, with exports to the Philippines expected to reach US$7.62 billion by 2032. In 2024, the Philippines' economy grew by 5.6%,the second-fastest pace among ASEAN's 10 member states, which has a combined GDP of US$4.13 trillion. With a large Filipino community in the UAE working in sectors such as construction, healthcare, and hospitality, officials said these workers could also contribute to the economic growth expected from the agreement.

ADIB inks key Abu Dhabi housing finance agreement
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), a leading Islamic financial institution in the UAE, has signed an agreement with the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA) to provide top-up home financing solutions to UAE nationals. The partnership reflects a joint commitment to expanding affordable top up housing finance and supporting the development of sustainable communities in line with the Abu Dhabi government's broader social objectives. The agreement allows eligible Emirati beneficiaries to apply for a top-up finance on their housing loan issued by the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, a program supported by the Abu Dhabi Government. Through this agreement, the Abu Dhabi government aims to extend the support by offering top up financing solutions subsidized by 50% of the profit of the finance, enabling beneficiaries to secure homes that better meet their evolving family needs and lifestyle aspirations. The agreement was signed during a ceremony attended by Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, and Mohamed Abdelbary, Group Chief Executive Officer at ADIB. Under this agreement, citizens who have received loans for purchasing or building a home from the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, and whose monthly income exceeds AED 30,000, will be eligible to obtain additional financing of up to AED 500,000. The repayment period can extend up to 25 years, in accordance with the regulations of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates and in compliance with Islamic Sharia principles. The Government of Abu Dhabi will cover 50% of the profit and Murabaha charges associated with this financing. On this partnership, Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, said: "This agreement with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank reflects the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority's commitment to providing accessible financing solutions that support citizens' aspirations of owning suitable homes. It also contributes to enhancing family stability and quality of life for Emirati families." "At the Authority, we are working to expand collaboration with private sector institutions to enable citizens to access flexible financing options that align with their needs and help realize their aspirations," he stated. Abdelbary said this partnership underscores ADIB's commitment to empower UAE nationals on their journey to home ownership. "By offering sharia-compliant top-up housing finance in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, we are not only meeting the growing demand for flexible financing options but also helping to build future-ready communities," he stated.
