Woltemade to rejoin Stuttgart team on July 28 amid Bayern rumours
VfB Stuttgart forward Nick Woltemade is to rejoin the team on July 28 ahead of the new season despite rumours of a potential transfer to German champions Bayern Munich.
Due to his participation in the Nations League Final Four and in the under-21 Euros this summer, he will receive a few extra vacation days.

But a club spokesperson confirmed on Monday that he will join his team-mates for their pre-season training camp as planned.
Over the weekend, there were speculations whether Bayern could rush to sign Woltemade aftertheir midfielder Jamal Musiala fractured his fibula and dislocated his ankle in the Club World Cup quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday.
Musiala will undergo surgery and sidelined for several months.
However, according to media reports, Bayern and Suttgart are very far from an agreement over the transfer fee.
The German Cup champions allegedly want a huge fee, with some reports speaking of close to €100 million ($117.33 million), to get him out of his contract until 2028.

Stuttgart kicked off their pre-season preparations with performance tests on Monday.
In addition to Woltemade, his national team colleagues Deniz Undav, Maximilian Mittelstädt and Alexander Nübel as well as Bosnian international Ermedin Demirovic were also absent.
Unlike Woltemade, the quartet will rejoin the team for a friendly match against SV Fellbach on Saturday.

Tearful Brown says winning BMW International Open was 'out-of-body experience' after friend's death
Updated [hour]:[minute] [AMPM] [timezone], [monthFull] [day], [year] MUNICH (AP) — English golfer Daniel Brown was in tears after going through an 'out-of-body experience' in winning the BMW International Open by two strokes on Sunday, days after the death of a close friend. The No. 170-ranked Brown shot a bogey-free 6-under 66 in the final round to capture his second European tour title, after the ISPS Handa World Invitational in 2023. After making his sixth and final birdie of the day at the par-5 18th, Brown walked off the green and started to cry. 'I lost a friend at home last weekend,' Brown said, before pausing and holding back more tears. 'It's for him.' Brown said that was his motivation to win at Golfclub München Eichenried. 'The last two days I kept thinking about him,' he said. 'I tried not to get too emotional in the process. I'm not really too sure what happened today. All day really was like an out-of-body experience. 'He was there with me,' Brown added, 'and it made it a little bit easier.' Brown started the day with a one-shot lead over countryman Jordan Smith, birdied four of his first six holes, and picked up two more birdies coming home to finish on 22-under par for the week. The 30-year-old Brown hadn't had a top-10 finish since February at the Qatar Masters. Smith shot 67 and was alone in second place. ___ AP golf:

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany says his blood is ‘boiling' after star player Jamal Musiala suffers horror leg injury
Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany said his blood was 'boiling' after young forward Jamal Musiala suffered a fracture to his leg associated with a broken and dislocated ankle in Saturday's Club World Cup defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. The 22-year-old suffered the horror injury after his leg got caught awkwardly under PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma when challenging for the ball in the first half of the quarterfinal, which the French side won 2-0. Advertisement Musiala screamed and held his ankle, while his Bayern teammates and PSG players alike turned away in shock, some with their hands on their heads in disbelief. 'I've rarely been so angry at halftime, not against my players,' Kompany told reporters after the match. 'I know there are many things in life much more important than this, but for these guys it's their life. 'Someone like Jamal lives for this. He just came back from a setback and then it happens in the way it happens. You feel powerless. 'Sat here now, the thing that gets my blood still boiling at the moment is not the result, I understand this is football. It's the fact it happened to someone that one, enjoys the game so much, but is also very important for us.' Advertisement Bayern said Musiala flew back from Orlando to Munich on Sunday, where he will undergo surgery soon. In a social media post after the game, Donnarumma wrote: 'All my prayers and well wishes are with you Jamal.' Musiala is widely considered one of the most exciting young talents in soccer. He has already won five Bundesliga titles, three German Cups and the Champions League since making his Bayern debut aged 17 in 2020, at the time the youngest debutant in the club's history. In 2024, Musiala was named as the German national team's Player of the Year for the second time. 'This hits FC Bayern,' board member Max Eberl said in a statement. 'Everyone knows how immensely important Jamal is for our game and what a central role he has in our team. Advertisement 'Furthermore, there's also a huge human impact and we all feel for him: Jamal has just come back from an injury and will now be out for another long period. He'll get everything he needs from us. 'We'll support him intensively, be by his side and already look forward to when he's back on the pitch.' For more CNN news and newsletters create an account at

Donnarumma 'shocked' after duel that caused Musiala's serious injury
Paris Saint-Germain's Gianluigi Donnarumma and Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala in action during the FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final soccer match against between Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Sven Hoppe/dpa Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is still shaken after a duel with Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala, which caused a major injury to the Bavarian player. "I'm very shocked by what happened, it was certainly not my intention to injure Musiala," Donnarumma told the Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper on Monday. Advertisement Musiala sustained the injury to his left leg after being hit by the goalkeeper late in the first half of the 2-0 defeat by PSG on Saturday. He fractured his fibula and dislocated his ankle and will be sidelined for a "long period," Bayern said. "It was a matter of a tenth of a second. Gigio was first to reach the ball and couldn't avoid the contact," Donnaruma's agent Vincenzo Raiola said. "It's unfair to think that he wanted to hurt Musiala, who we hope will recover as soon as possible to return stronger than before," he added. After the duel, Donnarumma seemed disoriented as Musiala laid in pain on the ground. Advertisement "He didn't want to pretend nothing happened, Gigio is a very sensitive guy," Raiola continued. He said that Donnarumma even texted him during half-time - something that has never happened before as Donnarumma usually turns off his phone an hour before kick-off and only turns it on again once the game is over. "This time he sent me a message to tell me he was shaken and that he hadn't done it on purpose," Raiola said.
