Hong Kong Airlines flight ends up facing other aircraft on Taiwan runway
The Hong Kong-based carrier later denied some Taiwanese media reports that its aircraft had landed on the wrong runway.
Hong Kong Airlines flight HX252 was carrying 161 passengers and seven crew members and left the city at about 9.15am for Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan.
The aircraft was taxiing on the runway after landing at about 11.10am but encountered Hainan Airlines flight HU7987, with the two planes facing each other.
The Hong Kong aircraft, an Airbus A320, eventually had to be towed to the right parking space.
In a statement in the afternoon, Hong Kong Airlines said its flight was using the runway as instructed by Taiwanese air controllers.
'Hong Kong Airlines confirms that [Friday's] flight HX252 from Hong Kong to Taipei Taoyuan Airport was taxiing in accordance with the air control tower's instruction after landing, during which it was changed to use a tow truck to assist in towing the aircraft to the designated parking space following the air control tower's new instruction,' it said.

One vulnerability involves attackers intercepting sensitive data from mobile devices connected to a compromised vehicle's infotainment systems through widely used platforms such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, according to Moke. 'The automotive and mobility sector is an emerging target sector in Malaysia,' Moke said. 'The proliferation of modern vehicles integrating complex computing, software, and the supporting infrastructure creates new points of vulnerability.' Ensign's report puts the automotive sector behind the public sector, telcos, hospitality and banks in the ranking of industries most vulnerable to cyberattacks.

The power comes from drive units on both the front and rear axles, part of the brand's first chassis created specifically for electric vehicles. That incredible stamina comes from a 94.8kWh battery that offers 30 per cent more energy. The new BMW iX xDrive45 also brings the looks. Showing off minimalist lines, it features a redesigned BMW kidney grille at the front, frameless glass doors and body-coloured lower trim at the sides, and a seamless rear. An innovative layout, with the battery deep in the floor and the drive units on the axles, makes for a generous cabin, which also features seats with heat and massage functions. Navigation is a cinch thanks to the BMW Head-Up Display with its Augmented View function, along with the BMW Maps system.
