Mondo Duplantis won his second straight pole vault Olympic gold medal last year at the Paris Games in part of what he described as a 'life-changing' year. While at the Laureus World Sports Awards where he was named Sportsman of the Year, the 25-year-old sat down with CNN World Sport's Amanda Davies to reflect on his past year and his hopes to continue raising the bar ahead of the LA 2028 Summer Olympics.

The French native spent two seasons in Boston before the team waived him in 2019. Nearly six years later, Yabusele sent a message regarding his time in Boston. Following an impressive run in the Olympics, Yabusele joined the Philadelphia 76ers and appeared in nearly every game for the team. Recently, the 29-year-old spoke about how different his mentality is now compared to his Celtics days, and he admitted to it being "completely different" (h/t Cyro Asseo de Choch of HoopsHype). Advertisement "It was a completely different mentality than when I was in Boston, because when I was in Boston, I was drafted first round, 16th pick, so my standards and what I was hoping was completely different from right now," Yabusele said. "I didn't have that much experience, too. I was really just young, and I wanted just to play." Despite being a first-round draft pick for Boston, Yabusele did not play much. During his two seasons with the team, he averaged just 6.6 minutes across 74 games. Yabusele is set to hit unrestricted free agency this summer. It remains to be seen whether he will remain in Philadelphia or go elsewhere. Regardless, he has done a fantastic job of reviving his NBA career after his release from the Celtics, and his status will be a fun one to follow throughout the offseason. There's no debate that Kevin Durant is a future first-ballot Hall of Famer. What is up for debate is what team the Phoenix Suns superstar will be playing for when the 2025-26 NBA season tips off. The Suns are working hard to trade the 15-time All-Star, and several teams are expected to have interest. Possibly even one of the teams from the NBA's Conference Finals. 'I do believe Kevin Durant will be traded in the coming weeks. I expect them to look into the Durant trade market pretty soon. There are going to be a handful of teams that have interest in Durant. They key is this, he has one year left on his contract. Is he going to want to sign an extension and is he going to want to be part of the process in a trade and are the Suns going to let him be?' Moreso, he'll want to land in a place that could become his final destination in the NBA, knowing contract discussions will be taking place in the near future. Thus, a team like the Knicks would make a lot of sense. Not only are they in a massive market that can take advantage of Durant's superstardom, they'll be a playoff contender for multiple years. Yet, the Knicks are far from the only team that makes sense for Durant this summer. Other teams that have been loosely linked to a Durant trade include the Minnesota Timberwolves and San Antonio Spurs. The Timberwolves have their built-in Anthony Edwards connection with Durant after the two won a gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics, yet, the idea of playing with Victor Wembanyama has to be intriguing too. The German center has withdrawn from EuroBasket as she looks to prioritize her health and long-term goals, the German National Team announced Wednesday. Sabally, 25, said in a statement translated from German to English this was a 'difficult decision' and she was 'disappointed' she couldn't represent her native country like she planned. 'It is not easy for me,' Sabally said. 'But given the rehabilitation for my knee, the intensive EuroBasket schedule and the right WNBA calendar, I have to prioritize my health with a view to my long-term goals with the national team. The Liberty entered this season prepared to lose as many as three players to this month's EuroBasket tournament. Sabally is the second Liberty player, though, to announce her decision to sit out the international tournament following French native Marine Johannès. Forward Leonie Fiebich left the Liberty Wednesday to join the German National Team, The Post has learned. She's expected to be gone for the entirety of the tournament, which runs June 18-29.
