'Thousands of people were gathered, all seeking flour,' said Qassem Abu Khater, who rushed to the scene as soon as he heard about the distribution. 'Tanks were firing randomly at us, and occupation snipers were shooting as if they were hunting wild animals in a forest,' he described. Abu Khater, 36, is from Jabalia in northern Gaza and was displaced by fighting. He now lives in the western part of Gaza City. He said he saw 'dozens of people' die in front of him.
'You ask yourself: should I go back carrying an injured person to save them, or with a bag of flour to save my family and children? My God, what have we been reduced to,' he lamented.
Hamas condemned the incident as a 'massacre.'

Hamas armed wing publishes video of Gaza hostage
The armed wing of Palestinian militant group Hamas released a minute-long video Friday of an Israeli hostage held in Gaza looking weak and malnourished, inside a narrow concrete tunnel. The Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades video showed an emaciated and bearded man that AFP and Israeli media identified as Evyatar David, seized on Oct. 7, 2023. AFP could not independently verify the video's authenticity. David, who turned 24 in captivity, was abducted during the Hamas attack that sparked the Gaza war, along with his friend Gal Gilboa-Dalal. Both had been attending the Nova music festival in southern Israel. They were among 44 festival-goers seized. Palestinian militants killed 370. Gaza Civil Defense reports 11 dead in Israeli attacks
Gaza Civil Defense said Friday that 11 people were killed by Israeli airstrikes and gunfire in the Palestinian territory, including two who were waiting near an aid distribution site. According to Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmud Bassal, five people were killed in an airstrike near the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, and four others in a separate strike targeting a vehicle in Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza. When contacted by AFP, the Israeli army said it could not confirm the strikes without specific location coordinates. Two other people were killed and more than 70 injured by Israeli gunfire while they were waiting for aid near a food distribution center operated by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF, supported by Israel and the United States), between the cities of Khan Younis and Rafah, Bassal told AFP. The Israeli army did not immediately comment. Thousands of Gazans gather daily near food distribution points in Gaza. The controversial GHF, a private initiative, has become one of the main distributors of humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip. International organizations and NGOs that continue to operate in the enclave refuse to cooperate with this organization.
