Dharmendra's first wife Prakash was looking for a rishta for step-daughter Esha Deol before she married ex-husband Bharat: ‘She's also looking for a suitable groom'
In a biography written by Rajiv Vijayakar, 'Dharmendra: Not Just a He-man', the author recalled meeting Prakash and described her as 'a woman who looked radiantly handsome and content.' Even though he just met her for a few minutes, he described her as the 'extraordinary homemaker, who had allowed Dharmendra every peace, progress and support by being a solid pillar in his life.' To his, and everyone's surprise, he also shared Dharmendra's words that Prakash cared for his other family as well. So much so that before Esha's marriage with Bharat Takhtani in 2012, Prakash was looking for a rishta for her step daughter. 'However, improbable it may seem to the layman, it is absolutely believable that Dharmendra had once told me, 'Prakash is also looking for a suitable groom for Esha (Deol).'
In the same book, the author quoted veteran journalist Bharathi S Pradhan as she spoke about the time when she spotted Prakash at the airport but as she approached to talk to her, she 'disappeared.' 'Dharam was very hospitable and yet there was a subtle Lakshman rekha. We could not get close to his wife or daughters. We never crossed borders, we accepted them. However nice and friendly he was. Once I saw her sitting at the airport, and when I smiled at her, she smiled back. When I came back, she had disappeared, and he said 'Oh, she was wary because you are there'.'

Esha married Bharat in 2012 and they stayed married for 12 years. While Prakash offered to find a groom for Esha, it was noted at the time of her wedding that no one from Prakash's side of the family attended the wedding. Prakash, Sunny, Bobby were all absent from the wedding. Such has been the case at all the weddings in the Deol household. So much so that at Sunny Deol's son Karan Deol's wedding in 2023, Hema and her daughters were not in attendance.
Esha had previously confessed that she met Prakash only once when she had to visit her house to meet her uncle, Dharmendra's brother, as he was very sick. 'I touched her feet and she left after blessing me,' she shared in the book Hema Malini: Beyond The Dream Girl. In the same book, she shared that she was in fourth standard when she learnt that her father had another family. 'That was when I understood that my mother had married someone who was already married to another lady and that they also had a family. But frankly speaking, I never felt bad about it. Till today, I don't think there is anything wrong with it. And I give full credit to my parents for not making us ever feel uncomfortable,' she said.
Talking about Prakash, Hema has shared that she never met her. 'Though I have never spoken about Prakash, I respect her a lot. Even my daughters respect Dharamji's family. The world wants to know about my life in detail, but that is not for others to know. It's no one's business,' she shared in the same book.

Fantastic Four's Vanessa Kirby Says She's A Sue Storm 'Nerd', Wants To Explore Malice
Vanessa is particularly keen to explore Sue's Malice incarnation. Vanessa Kirby is a Sue Storm 'nerd". The 37-year-old actress plays Sue in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and she's admitted to being obsessed with the character. Vanessa – who stars in the new Marvel movie alongside Pedro Pascal, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn – told Variety: 'I'm such a Sue nerd." She added: 'There was something so allegorical about her. She was called Invisible Girl. Then Psycho-Man comes and disrupts everything, and she has a meeting with her own dark side in Malice. She comes back, and she renames herself Invisible Woman. So she transforms from a girl to a woman. There's something about meeting the hardest parts of yourself in Malice that felt extremely poignant to me. I'm really hopeful I might be allowed to be Malice at some point for her." Vanessa is particularly keen to explore Sue's Malice incarnation. The actress shared: 'I'm dying to do Malice. She's come from a really tough background. She lost her mother in a car crash. Her dad tried to save her mother. He couldn't. He then spiralled, became an alcoholic, got locked up in prison for murdering a loan shark, and then died. Sue had to become a mother to Johnny. They were orphans. They had to fight for themselves." She added: 'What I loved about her was that she chose a path that was inherently a positive one. She chose to keep her heart open and to stay warm. The Future Foundation, for me, wasn't a noble political act, but it seemed to me that it's Sue's nature." Vanessa previously admitted that she likes to take on 'challenging" roles. The movie star told TheTalks: 'I really like pushing past my limits in that way — I love it. When I read something and go, 'Uh, I don't know how I am going to do this,' then I know I should do it. I don't think it feels as challenging when you read a script and go, 'I know exactly how I am going to do this.'" Vanessa has enjoyed success on stage and screen, and she previously explained where her passion for stage acting came from. The London-born actress shared: 'I always knew I wanted to act, but I had no idea how I was to go about it. It was quite a daunting feeling to know how passionate you feel about something without knowing whether you can achieve it … But my parents love theatre and my dad loves Shakespeare, so I grew up with a lot of Shakespeare stories and plays. And the love for theatre helped me in realising the power of standing up in front of people and telling stories as a group. The audience is as important as the people on stage, so it always felt like a shared experience. With that experience, I felt most connected and most alive." (Also read: Prakash Raj issues clarification on betting app controversy: 'Excuse my one mistake I did 8 years back') Prakash Raj spoke with the media after appearing before the Enforcement Directorate for questioning in a money laundering case linked to illegal online betting and gambling. (PTI) What Prakash Raj said Speaking to the media after the questioning, Prakash said, 'This was a case of money laundering on betting apps, and the app was something I endorsed in 2016. On moral grounds, I did not pursue it, and I gave them information that I did not receive any money because I did not want to make money from that. They have taken all the details and have finished the enquiry... Officers are doing their job, and as a citizen, I am supposed to cooperate and answer their questions. There is no witch-hunting or political motivation in this.' More details Besides Prakash Raj, the ED also summoned actors Rana Daggubati, Vijay Deverakonda, and Lakshmi Manchu for questioning in the case. The agency asked Rana Daggubati to appear before the zonal office on July 23, Vijay Deverakonda on August 6, and Lakshmi Manchu on August 13. The ED gave Rana a fresh date of August 11after he failed to appear on July 23, seeking deferment of the summons. The Enforcement Directorate had taken cognisance of as many as five state police FIRs to register these cases. In March, Prakash was included in the list of 25 celebrities and influencers against whom a First Information Report (FIR) was filed by the Telangana police. In a video post on his X account, Prakash had clarified his stance and said, "This happened around 9 years back. Since then, I have not done any ads which promote online gambling. In 2021, I think it the company must have sold this app to someone else, who used a couple of snippets of me on social media. We did send them a notice and an email. I said, 'Look, I am not a part of it. I have said no. I told them they couldn't illegally use my snippets as the contract has been expired.' They stopped after that. This is my reply to all that I have taken a conscious decision not to promote betting apps. I say to all youngsters, don't be victim to such gambling because it ruins lives. Say no to betting apps.'
