Travel Press Release Distribution Tips to Supercharge Bookings

Travel Press Release Distribution Tips to Supercharge Bookings

Business Wire5 hours ago
Whether you're unveiling a new resort, launching a seasonal campaign, or celebrating a big partnership, one thing's for sure: your travel story deserves to be heard. And a well-timed, strategically crafted press release can be one of the most effective ways to make that happen.
A strong travel press release can do more than just share your news. It can spark inspiration, build trust, and drive bookings. Let's dig into why press releases are a must-have tool for the travel industry, what kind of announcements are worth sharing, and how a newswire like Business Wire can help your travel news take flight.
Why Issue a Press Release for Travel News?
From boutique hotels to global airlines, travel brands face a unique challenge: standing out in a sea of wanderlust content. Here's how press releases help:
Reach verified, credible media outlets: From travel journalists and bloggers to editors at top-tier publications, a distributed press release lands in front of the right eyes.
Boost SEO and online visibility: Issuing a news release through a reputable wire service gives your announcement a digital footprint, often with backlinks that support your site's search rankings.
Control the narrative: Unlike social media posts or influencer content, a press release gives you a structured format to tell your story clearly and professionally.
Attract bookings and interest: When your release hits the right audience at the right time, it can directly influence travel decisions and business outcomes.
With high-volume search terms like "cheap flights," "luxury travel deals," and "best places to travel," travelers are actively searching for options and inspiration. A well-optimized press release can help your brand show up right when it matters most.
What Kind of Travel News Warrants a Press Release?
Think of a press release as your opportunity to answer, "Why should people pay attention right now?" In travel, that could mean:
Hotel and resort openings or renovations
New flight routes or airline partnerships
Seasonal campaigns or special packages
Tour or experience launches
Milestones (anniversaries, awards, sustainability initiatives)
Destination spotlights or new tourism initiatives
Celebrity/influencer collaborations or hosted events
For example, a news release from Travel + Leisure Co. announced the expansion of its Sports Illustrated Resorts portfolio to Nashville, appealing to travel, lifestyle, and real estate media. Another release from Expedia launched the brand's first-ever Island Hot List, fueled by global travel data—capturing the interest of vacation planners, digital nomads, and trend-focused travel outlets.
Don't Just Send It. Strategize It!
Issuing a press release isn't about tossing words into the wind. It's about creating momentum. Here's how to approach your next announcement:
Align your timing: Are you launching before a peak season? Piggybacking off a cultural moment? Make sure your release hits when your audience is planning their next trip or searching for "top hiking destinations" or "best all-inclusive resorts."
Write with purpose: Keep it clear, concise, and inspiring. Avoid jargon, highlight what's new or unique, and include quotes that sound like a real person (not a robot).
Include rich media: Photos of dreamy destinations, videos of your new hotel, or a short reel of your recent hosted event—visuals bring the travel experience to life.
Use credible and targeted distribution: The press release is only as effective as the reach behind it. That's where Business Wire shines.
Why Business Wire for Travel Press Releases?
Business Wire isn't just a distribution service; it's a trusted partner in getting your story in front of the right audiences. Here's why travel brands use Business Wire:

Hilton launched its new LivSmart Studios brand with the opening of its first property in Tullahoma, Tennessee, addressing the growing demand for extended stay hotels, affordable travel options, and modern long-stay accommodations. The press release included high-resolution photos and video, giving travel media and potential guests a first look, perfect for travelers looking for new hotel openings or planning budget-friendly U.S. travel.
Park Hyatt revealed plans to debut its first property in Vancouver, news of interest to travelers looking for luxury hotels in Canada, family vacation ideas, and urban adventure travel. In the press release, Hyatt used Business Wire's callout text feature to highlight the main message of their announcement. Callout text also supports online visibility by providing concise, self-contained information that performs well in search results and AI-driven summaries.
Curator Hotel & Resort Collection announced the addition of six new independent hotels and resorts, expanding its portfolio of boutique hotels across top U.S. travel destinations. The news release highlighted properties ideal for those looking for hidden gem getaways. Curator leveraged Business Wire's Release Summary feature to give readers a quick, accessible overview of their announcement. Like callout text, the Release Summary can include relevant keywords and is appealing for both search engines and AI platforms. Curator also added social media links to their press release on Business Wire's site to encourage further exploration and easy sharing.
Travel is Powerful. So is Good PR.
At its core, travel is about connection: with places, people, cultures, and stories. A press release might seem like a formal tool, but when used strategically, it's one of the most powerful ways to share your brand's story in a trusted, attention-worthy format.
Whether you're trying to get the word out about an exclusive opening, a budget-friendly campaign, or a community-based tourism project, press releases offer a direct line to visibility, credibility, and discovery.
So next time you're crafting your travel marketing strategy, ask yourself:
What news do we have that people would care about?
Who do we want to reach?
When do we need to start generating buzz?
And when you're ready to share it, Business Wire is here to help your story go the distance.

LSTA Applauds Executive Order Increasing 401 (K) Access to Private Markets Investments

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- LSTA, the trade association for the U.S. corporate lending market, today issued the following statement regarding the EO improving access of 401(k) and other defined contribution plans to private markets investments. 'LSTA believes that access to private markets such as private corporate credit assets in 401(k)s will drive better investment outcomes for the overwhelming majority of American workers who depend on these plans for retirement. Enabling well-diversified, professionally managed 401 (k) plans to incorporate the benefits of private markets, with appropriate safeguards in place, is an important step in allowing 401(k) plan participants to access the types of asset allocations and diversification that have been successfully used in defined benefit plans. As the population of public companies continues to shrink, access to private market investments is essential to enable Americans to meaningfully diversify their portfolios and benefit from increasingly important investment opportunities. The vast majority of American private sector workers do not have access to the investment benefits of private markets. LSTA and our members are committed to playing our part in providing such access along with the important safeguards that go along with it.'

Geospace Technologies Corporation Reports Profitable Third Quarter and Nine-Month 2025 Earnings

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Geospace Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: GEOS) ('the 'Company") today announced results for its third quarter ended June 30, 2025. For the three-months ended June 30, 2025, Geospace reported revenue of $24.8 million, compared to revenue of $25.8 million for the comparable year-ago quarter. Net income for the three-months ended June 30, 2025, was $0.8 million, or $0.06 per diluted share, compared to a net loss of ($2.1) million, or $(0.16) per diluted share, for the quarter ended June 30, 2024. For the nine-months ended June 30, 2025, Geospace reported revenue of $80.1 million compared to revenue of $100.2 million for the comparable year-ago period. Net loss for the nine-months ended June 30, 2025, was ($0.7) million, or $(0.05) per diluted share, compared to net income of $6.3 million, or $0.47 per diluted share, for the nine-months ended June 30, 2024. Management's Comments Richard 'Rich' Kelley, Chief Executive Officer and President of Geospace Technologies, said, 'Strategic accomplishments defined our third quarter laying the foundation to further our revenue and profitability goals. Our Energy Solutions team won a sizeable contract to supply nearly 500km of the OptoSeis® Permanent Reservoir Monitoring (PRM) system covering 140 sq km of seabed area of Mero, located off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Additionally, Energy Solutions achieved its first sale of the newly released Pioneer™, an ultralight land node for seismic surveys, to a global engineering and professional services firm based in Canada. The delivery of the Pioneer system will occur before the end of the fiscal year. Additionally, we recorded the sale of assets associated with our streamer recovery device product line to Seis Gear, Inc. in June. Building off this success, we invested in the growth of our Intelligent Industrial segment this quarter with the recently announced acquisition of Heartbeat Detector®, a security technology developed by the United States Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). This advanced system is designed to detect the presence of concealed humans in vehicles of any size. We intend to offer the Heartbeat Detector® on a subscription basis, aligning with our strategy to grow recurring revenue streams. As we increase the emphasis on our security and defense product portfolio, we have engaged former U.S. Border Patrol Chief Carla Provost to educate fellow national and homeland security professionals and accelerate end-user adoption of our advanced analytics and sensing solutions for border and perimeter security applications. We continue to generate strong organic growth in our Smart Water segment where our Hydroconn® universal AMI connectors remain a reliable revenue and profit center. This quarter, we received an enthusiastic response to our new corporate branding and integrated smart water management portfolio at the American Water Works Association international annual conference and exhibition. Lastly, we completed the sale of idle property adjacent to our facility for $9.2 million in gross proceeds.' Smart Water Segment Third quarter revenue from the Company's Smart Water segment totaled $10.5 million for the three months ended June 30, 2025. This compares to $9.9 million in revenue for the same period a year ago representing an increase of 6.1%. Revenue for the nine-month period ended June 30, 2025, is $27.3 million, an increase of 32.7% over the equivalent prior year period. This marks a record high level of nine-months of revenue for our Smart Water Segment. Energy Solutions Segment Revenue from the Company's Energy Solutions segment totaled $8.1 million for the three-month period ended June 30, 2025. This compares to $9.4 million in revenue for the same period a year ago representing a decrease of 13.6%. Revenue for the nine-month period ended June 30, 2025, is $35.0 million, a decrease of 42.0% over the equivalent prior year period. The decrease in revenue for the three-month period and nine-month period was due to lower utilization and sales for our marine ocean bottom node rental fleet. The Company is encouraged by the first sale of the newly released ultralight land node known as Pioneer. This indicates the need for increased operational efficiency among geophysical survey companies, who benefit from the lighter weight for faster deployments with smaller crews. Intelligent Industrial Segment Revenue from the Company's Intelligent Industrial segment totaled $6.1 million for the three-month period ended June 30, 2025. This compares with $6.5 million from the equivalent year ago period, representing a decrease of 5.4%. Revenue for the nine-month period ending June 30, 2025, was $17.6 million. This compares to the prior year-ago period of $19.1 million, a decrease of 7.6%. The decrease in revenue for both periods was primarily due to revenue recognized for the three and nine months ended June 30, 2024 on a government contract completed in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2024 and lower demand for our imaging products. The decrease for both periods was partially offset by an increase in demand for our contract manufacturing services. Balance Sheet and Liquidity For the nine-month period ended June 30, 2025, the Company used $18.1 million in cash and cash equivalents from operating activities. The Company generated $35.4 million of cash from investing activities that included $28.4 million in proceeds from the sale of short-term investments and $8.7 million in proceeds from the sale of property, plant and equipment, and $5.1 million of proceeds from the sale of rental equipment, offset by $5.8 million for additions to property, plant and equipment as well as, $1.1 million in additions to the rental fleet. As of June 30, 2025, the Company had $25.6 million in cash and short-term investments and maintained an additional borrowing availability of $15.0 million under its bank credit agreement with no borrowings outstanding. For the nine-month period ended June 30, 2025, the Company's working capital is $74.5 million which includes $32.3 million of trade accounts and financing receivables. Additionally, the Company owns unencumbered property and real estate in both domestic and international locations.
