Ex-Rams star Aaron Donald granted restraining order against woman who claims she's his wife

Retired Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald has been granted a five-year restraining order against a woman he alleges has stalked him, threatened his son's life and claimed to be his wife.
The restraining order against Janelle Anwar was issued during a Los Angeles County Superior Court hearing Wednesday in downtown L.A. Donald appeared remotely while his attorney attended in person. Anwar, who is representing herself in the matter, did not attend.
Donald, a three-time defensive player of the year and 10-time Pro Bowl selection, filed for a restraining order April 15, expressing concern for his own safety as well as that of his wife Erica; their children, ages 3 and 1; his children from a previous relationship, ages 12 and 9; and his brother, Archie.
'Respondent ... has been harassing and stalking me and my family through various methods since 2020,' Donald wrote in the filing. 'I have never met Respondent and have no idea who she is, however, she knows who I am.'
Donald alleged that Anwar has sent him 'threatening, harassing and numerous emails' over the last several years, as well as packages and gifts to his home. In the month before to his filing, Donald wrote, Anwar's messages 'have been relentless' and have included what he perceived to be a threat to the life of his 3-year-old son.
'Respondent is delusional and I fear that Respondent's delusions will lead to her attempting to harm me, my wife, my children, and my brother,' Donald wrote.
Also in the filing, Donald alleges that Anwar 'falsely believes that we are married and ... has filed a dissolution actionagainst me.' L.A. County Superior Court records show that Anwar filed for divorce from Donald in November 2024 — a filing that was voided the following month after Anwar failed to pay the required fees — and again on March 7. That case, in which Anwar seeks a 'settlement' of $6.5 million, remains open.
On April 17, Anwar filed a response declaration to Donald's request for a restraining order. In it, she denies threatening the life of Donald's son, states that she feels threatened by Donald's family and says she 'would like to plea the 5th amendment' about the issue moving forward.
Anwar said she did not appear in court 'due to the nature and content of the petition,' as well as her decision to take the Fifth Amendment, she wrote in an email to The Times. She added that she is 'OK with the enforcement of a restraining order simply because I fear for my own safety.'

Two former Wisconsin Badgers land on PFF's list of the NFL's top guards for 2025

Two former Wisconsin Badgers land on PFF's list of the NFL's top guards for 2025 A pair of former Wisconsin Badgers appeared on ProFootballFocus' recent list of the NFL's top 32 guards entering the 2025 season. Detroit Lions right guard Kevin Zeitler, a three-year Badger from 2009-11, and Buffalo Bills left guard David Edwards, who represented the Badgers from 2015-18, earned designations on the outlet's 32-man hierarchy. Zeitler, a native of Waukesha, Wisconsin, landed at No. 9 on the list between Los Angeles Rams guard Kevin Dotson (No. 8) and San Francisco 49ers run-blocker Dominick Puni. The former Badger signed with the Detroit Lions ahead of the 2024 slate following his 2023 Pro Bowl campaign with the Baltimore Ravens. He's now entering his 14th professional campaign. In offensive coordinator Ben Johnson's scheme, Zeitler helped the Lions rush 534 times for 2,488 yards and 29 scores with David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs starring in the backfield. Zeitler started at right guard in all 16 of his appearances. Despite being one of the older players at his position, Zeitler is about as effective as anyone not named Joe Thuney, Chris Lindstrom, or Quenton Nelson. Here's PFF's analysis: "Although Zeitler enters 2025 at age 35, he continues to prove he isn't slowing down. In his lone season in Detroit, Zeitler earned his highest PFF overall grade (86.5) in a decade, finishing as the NFL's third-highest-graded guard. While his pass protection dipped a bit in 2024, his 87.2 PFF run-blocking grade stands as the best of his career." Meanwhile, PFF ranked Edwards down at No. 29. The 2019 First-team All-Big Ten team member has played six professional seasons with the Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills. Shortly after winning a Super Bowl with the Rams in 2021, the lineman joined the Bills in 2023 as a backup before starting all 16 games during the 2024 campaign. With reigning MVP Josh Allen and dynamic rusher James Cook as primary ball-carriers, the Bills rushed for 2,230 yards and a league-best 32 touchdowns a season ago. Here's what PFF said about Edwards ahead of his third season in Buffalo: "2024 marked Edwards' first season in a starting role since 2021. He earned solid PFF overall grades, but really stood out as a zone blocker, recording a 78.1 PFF run-blocking grade on zone concepts — good for the 93rd percentile and the fifth-highest mark among qualifying guards." Zeitler's Lions will square off against the Packers on Sept. 7 to begin the season, while Edwards' Bills will play the Ravens the same day, beginning their quest for a second straight AFC Championship game appearance. Former Wisconsin Badger receives middling grade in PFF's 2025 NFL tight end ranking

Former Wisconsin Badger receives middling grade in PFF's 2025 NFL tight end ranking Former Wisconsin Badger and current Dallas Cowboy Jake Ferguson landed at No. 17 in ProFootballFocus' recent list of the NFL's top tight ends entering 2025. Ferguson, whose 145 career receptions rank second all-time among Badger tight ends, earned a Pro Bowl appearance in 2023. In three seasons with Dallas, Ferguson has reeled in 149 receptions for 1,429 yards and seven touchdowns. Sandwiched between New England Patriots tight end Hunter Henry (No. 16) and Green Bay Packers pass-catcher Tucker Craft (No. 18), Ferguson dropped five spots from last year's preseason ranking. The Rapid City, Wisconsin, native did miss three games in 2024, starting in all 14 of his appearances. In those 14 contests, the Wisconsin product snagged 59 receptions for 494 yards as Dallas' No. 2 passing option behind superstar CeeDee Lamb. That output followed a career-best 71-reception, 761-yard, five-touchdown performance in 2023, the year he made the Pro Bowl. While Ferguson's productivity certainly declined, he remains a staple asset in the Cowboys' offensive system. Here's PFF's take: "Ferguson looked like a tight end on the cusp of cracking the top 10 a year ago before the Cowboys' struggles and injuries caused the decline in production and grading for the third-year Wisconsin Badger. While Ferguson should enjoy a bounce-back 2025 campaign, his 56.6 PFF receiving grade and four fumbles in 2024 are worrisome for his outlook." With the Badgers, Ferguson snared a pass in every game he suited up in and set the school record for most consecutive games with a reception with 47. His 1,618 career receiving yards also land at No. 3 all-time among tight ends to play for Wisconsin. Ferguson will begin his search for a bounce-back season on Sept. 4 when the Cowboys open their season against the Philadelphia Eagles. Rams Legend Andrew Whitworth Addresses Possibility of Coaching

Rams Legend Andrew Whitworth Addresses Possibility of Coaching originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Andrew Whitworth hung his cleats up over three years ago, calling it quits after 16 seasons in the NFL. He went out on top, winning Super Bowl LVI with the Los Angeles Rams. Advertisement Whitworth, who, along with Matthew Stafford, helped lead that championship-winning group, was recently asked if he'd be interested in returning to the game in a different capacity. "Thx for asking Chef! I enjoy coaching my kids for now. Don't see myself coaching at higher levels. But it would be foolish to talk in absolutes about a game I love. Only time will tell," Whitworth wrote Thursday on X. Whitworth opted to retire after realizing his body was "tired. ... There's just still been some days where my body doesn't want to move with me." Whitworth earned a Pro Bowl nod four times and was named a first-team All-Pro twice. During his final season, at 40 years old, he became the oldest player to start at left tackle in an NFL game. Kirby Lee-Imagn Images "There is nobody that has had a bigger impact than Andrew Whitworth on establishing the foundation, the culture of 'We Not Me,' and being a part of something bigger than yourself," Rams head coach Sean McVay said after Whitworth hung his cleats up. "Helping influence and affect people in the right way, through the good -- but I think even more importantly, in the bad. That's when he was at his best." Advertisement That type of leadership would likely suit Whitworth well as a coach. McVay has a good deal of admiration for the former standout offensive lineman.
