Jaipur: The Pink City is all set to host its grand Teej Yatra on July 27 and 28, blending tradition with new-age experiences to create a vibrant celebration. Organised annually, the Teej Mahotsav honours Teej Mata with a royal procession that begins at the historic Zenana Deodi and travels through Tripolia Bazaar, Chhoti Chaupar, Badi Chaupar, and Gangauri Bazaar before concluding at Talkatora.
This year's yatra introduces several firsts, including a grand Maha Aarti at Chhoti Chaupar. To ensure greater accessibility, over 200 LED screens will be placed along the route, allowing people in crowded or distant areas to witness the event in real time.
The procession will feature camels, bullock carts, decorated horse-drawn carriages, Rajasthani folk performers, musicians, and cultural troupes, transforming Jaipur's streets into a cultural spectacle.
Bands from the police, jail, RAC, and the Sawai Maan Guard will also perform, lending a royal touch to the celebrations.
In a move towards inclusivity, women's cultural groups have been invited to participate in performances along the route. Civic and tourism authorities are actively preparing for the event—trimming trees, repairing overhead wires, marking the entire route with lime, and enhancing sanitation in areas like Talkatora and Palka Bagh.
Stray animal management and cleanliness drives are underway to ensure a smooth experience for attendees.
City's iconic gate's—Sanganeri, Ajmeri, New, and Chandpole—will be lit up with special lighting arrangements. Adding to the festive atmosphere, a Craft and Food Bazaar at Pondrik Udyan near Talkatora will run from noon to 10 pm on both days, showcasing traditional Rajasthani cuisine, handicrafts, and live folk performances.
With its rich cultural showcase and modern upgrades, this year's Teej Yatra is expected to offer a unique and immersive experience, celebrating Rajasthan's spirit in its most colourful and inclusive form.
