Woman shot and critically injured in Downtown Peoria, police say
An 18-year-old woman was shot and critically injured Tuesday afternoon in Downtown Peoria.
Police were called at about 3:19 p.m. to the 100 block of Southwest Water Street on a report of a female shot, according to Peoria Police Department spokesperson Semone Roth.
When officers arrived, they located the victim with an apparent gunshot wound. The woman was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Those believed to be involved with the shooting are in police custody, and police are not looking for other suspects at this time, according to Roth.
