Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married in a lavish ceremony seven years ago, and fans are just noticing the subtle way they paid tribute to one royal who couldn't attend. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are celebrating their seventh wedding anniversary today (Monday, May 19).
Harry and Meghan tied the knot back in 2018, at St George's Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle. Meghan stunned in a dress designed by Clare Waight Keller under the Givenchy label, while her husband was wearing the frockcoat uniform of the Household Cavalry (the 'Blues and Royals'), made by tailors Dege and Skinner on London's Savile Row.
The wedding was attended by a number of senior royals including King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton. Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, was also present.
But while Princess Diana - who sadly passed away in a 1997 Paris car crash - was not there, the couple included subtle nods to Harry's late mother throughout their ceremony.
In a video shared to TikTok, a dedicated royal fan account shared some of the ways Harry and Meghan kept the memory of the People's Princess alive during the lavish occasion. "How Princess Diana was 'present' in every detail of Harry and Meghan's wedding ceremony," the clip opened.
Meghan's wedding bouquet
Meghan's bouquet included forget-me-nots, Princess Diana's favourite flowers, according to the video. "Harry personally picked them from the garden at Kensington Palace," text overlaying the video read.
The bouquet was designed by florist Philippa Craddock and tied together with a naturally-dyed silk ribbon. In addition to forget-me-nots, it featured scented sweet peas, lily of the valley, astilbe, jasmine and astrantia, and sprigs of myrtle.
Music
"The composition Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer was played at the wedding," the clip added. "It is Diana's favourite hymn and was played at the princess' funeral in 1997."
According to CBS, Harry appeared to get "choked up" when the song was played during the ceremony.
A statement from Kensington Palace about the song choice read: "Both Prince Harry and Ms Markle have taken a great deal of interest and care in choosing the music for their service, which will include a number of well-known hymns and choral works."
Keeping it in the family
"At the wedding ceremony, after the Archbishop of Canterbury's opening speech, Lady Jane Fellowes - Diana's sister - read the eight chapter of the Song of Solomon from the Bible about eternal love," the video added.
As part of her speech, Diana's older sister read: "The winter is past, the rain is over and gone... Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it."
Her siblings, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer, also attended the wedding.
Diana's ring
The video went on to describe how Meghan wore an "emerald-cut aquamarine" ring at the wedding reception following the couple's ceremony. "This is Princess Diana's ring," the video claimed.
Diana first wore the ring during a 1996 tour of Australia, just a year before her untimely death.
But while the large ring may be of enormous sentimental value to Meghan, she has worn it only a handful of times since her wedding.
One of these times was at the Ripple of Hope Gala in New York City in December 2022, when she paired it with a custom white Louis Vuitton gown.

East 17 icon feels 'absolutely amazing' as he's baptised by The Krays' henchman

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video The prospect of being held underwater by one of The Krays' henchmen is not one most people would jump at — unless you're East 17's Terry Coldwell. Terry, 50, gladly put himself in Chris Lambrianou's arms to be baptised at the River Church in London's East End. Seven born-again Christians stepped into the water with the 83-year-old former gangster, who spent part of his life as a member of 'The Firm'. The Firm was the nickname given to Ronnie and Reggie Kray's gang, based in Bethnal Green, London, throughout the 50s and 60s. A video shared by the Daily Mail showed Terry, speaking with Chris and the church's pastor, Dave Gill, as he stood in waist-high water for the ceremony. 'I've just been baptised and I feel absolutely amazing,' the Stay Another Day hitmaker told the Daily Mail. 'The service has been phenomenal today.' Terry added: 'I just feel great. I feel it was a long time coming and I'm really glad I did it.' A baptism is usually performed by a priest or bishop, but there are no restrictions on this in the Bible. East 17 rose to fame in the 90s, consisting of Terry, Tony Mortimer, Brian Harvey and John Hendy, with over 18million albums worldwide. The lineup has changed over the years, with Terry remaining constant, although he recently shared that he doubted a reunion was likely. Meanwhile, Chris had a very different career and would probably rather have avoided the spotlight entirely. He was involved in the dumping of Jack 'The Hat' McVitie's body after he was stabbed by Reggie in 1967. During his prison sentence after being arrested for armed robbery, Chris found God and moved away from his life of crime. Of the baptism, he shared: ''Baptising so many people gives me a spiritual high. It's like you cannot buy the feeling I have. More Trending 'That can only come from Jesus Christ. Trust in him and he will never fail you.' He also set up a charity with a former Metropolitan police detective, Jon Wedger, to help provide work for young people and keep them from turning to crime. Jon attended the Sunday service along with some close friends and said: 'I found the service to be very moving. I've know Terry for a few years and his faith has got stronger and stronger and I think it's been niggling away at him to get baptised for a while now. 'Myself and Chris have worked together for a while now. He is a man who has turned his back on crime and devoted himself to God and is making a difference now in people's lives and helping youngsters avoid making the same mistakes he did.' Got a story? Meghan's huge royal clash as new glitzy outing comes on same day as major event

While the royal family will be celebrating the King's official birthday with the Trooping the Colour procession on Saturday, Meghan Markle will be at an event of her own in California As the Royal Family prepares for Trooping the Colour, Meghan Markle is planning her own big night out in California. The Duchess of Sussex has been confirmed as the guest of honour at a museum's Night of Wonder black-tie event in California, on the same day as the King's official birthday celebrations in London. The diary clash will see Meghan be honoured for her charity work, which focuses on advancing community wellbeing and expanding opportunities for disadvantaged people, particularly those from underprivileged and minority communities. The event, where Meghan will give a speech about her work, will take place at the Museum of Natural History in Los Angeles, California, where the royal couple has called home for the past five years since stepping back from their royal duties. ‌ ‌ Meghan will be joined by other high-profile guests at the museum on June 14, with the space being transformed into an enchanted nocturnal garden. The exclusive event will feature live music and installations representing local ecosystems and the LA landscape, and guests will be treated to a farm-to-table dinner that uses ingredients from the museum's nature gardens. While it has not yet been confirmed if Prince Harry will also be attending the museum's charity night, he often accompanies his wife to public events where she gives speeches. Ahead of the event, Lori Bettison-Varga, the President and Director of the Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County, said: "We are proud to honour Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, a native Angeleno, whose work to advance community wellbeing and expand opportunity – especially for underserved communities – aligns with our equity-focused approach to developing science literacy for the next generation." The Office of Prince Harry and Meghan added that Meghan's mission to advance community wellbeing and uplift young women 'dovetails with the museums' approach to connecting community and science by fostering meaningful educational experiences that empower young minds.' On the same day of the exclusive event at the Los Angeles museum, the Royal family will be taking to the Buckingham Palace balcony for Trooping the Colour to celebrate the King's birthday. ‌ The Trooping the Colour event, which takes place every year in June, has been held to mark the sovereign's official birthday since the accession of King George IV in 1820, except during the world wars and a national strike in 1955. In 2020, a scaled-back version of the celebration was held at Windsor Castle due to the Covid pandemic. Trooping the Colour 2025, officially known as The King's Birthday Parade, will take place on Saturday June 14 in London. Prince Harry and Meghan have not attended the event in an official capacity since 2019, although Meghan was seen watching the military procession from Horse Guards Parade during the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022. Harry and Meghan announced they would be stepping back as senior members of the royal family in January 2020, and have been living in Montecito, California, with their two children, Archie and Lilibet, ever since.

End-of-terrace house looks normal from the outside but hides bizarre secret in sprawling basement – would YOU move in?

The house has nine en-suite bathrooms SECRETS BENEATH End-of-terrace house looks normal from the outside but hides bizarre secret in sprawling basement – would YOU move in? A BLACKPOOL guest house has undergone a jaw-dropping transformation and now contains a private nightclub, cinema room, and space for 24 guests. Wayne and Katie Anne Mylroie have spent nearly two years converting the modest semi-detached property into a high-spec holiday home. 7 Wayne and Katie Anne Mylroie turned the Blackpool guesthouse into a private nightclub Credit: Facebook 7 The house has a cinema room, pool table, hot tub room and private basement nightclub Credit: Facebook Just a short walk from the promenade, the couple named the property The Fun House. Announcing the launch on Facebook, the couple said: "After almost two years in the making, we're finally live and we have had our first guests." Described by the owners as "the perfect party house", the property boasts a "large sociable lounge with custom seating and pool table, a cinema room, a hot tub room and your very own exclusive private basement nightclub." Inside, the house features nine en-suite bedrooms with 15 beds, offering space for large groups looking to celebrate in style. "The Fun House has 9 bedrooms all en-suite with 15 beds that sleeps 24 guests," the post reads. One standout feature is a uniquely designed bedroom with dramatic lighting effects: "It also has the coolest kids/adult room with a light-up lightening clouded ceiling." Every inch of the property has been carefully designed and finished to an exceptionally high standard. "It has been completed to the highest standard so you would never want to leave!" the Mylroies added. With its bold interior, private nightclub and close proximity to Blackpool's attractions, The Fun House is already turning heads as one of the seaside town's most striking new holiday rentals. The couple might have their work cut out to win the locals over though who claim Airbnbs and short term lets are "ruining" the town. People living in Blackpool, Lancs, say their lives are being blighted by anti-social behaviour. They raised their concerns as tens of thousands of holiday-makers are set to flood Britain's resorts and tourist hot spots for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. In England, the short-term let sector is unregulated, except in London where there's a 90-day per year cap on letting out properties. Blackpool City Council says it's received just one complaint about short-term lets since 2019 – but the council doesn't know how many are in the area. A total of 16 planning enforcement notices have been issued in the same period. Residents of the seaside resort town, known for its traditional B&Bs, tell a different story. One resident said she has operated three hotels in Blackpool's town centre for eight years. She says the proliferation of Airbnbs and other short-term lets, where owners are not present, have brought the character of the street down – with rooms being used for parties until the early hours of the morning and even prostitution. She said: 'The ones now, there's nobody there. If somebody's booked a double room, they know the code. 'If they meet friends with a girl, they use that code, go in, use the room, and go out. 'It's like one person's booked the room, a couple who's out for the night and give the code to another couple. 'They use the room and just go out after an hour.' B&B owners Sandra Spriggs, 52, and husband John, 69, have owned the Bianca Guesthouse on Blackpool's Palatine Road for 20 years. The couple says they have heard loud stag and hen parties inside unattended AirBNBs. Sandra said: 'My friend lives next door to an AirBNB. It's bloody noisy, especially in the summer – she actually goes to her daughter's for the weekend so she hasn't got to put up with the noise.' 7 There is a hot tub room with bright green LED lighting Credit: 7 The cinema room offers up a variety of films for guests to watch Credit: 7 Katie Anne said that the house had taken the couple two years Credit: 7 The couple said it had been finished to the 'highest standard' Credit: Facebook
