Atletico Madrid appear to cool interest in Andy Robertson as they 'line up Serie A youngster' as alternative to Liverpool star

Daily Mail10 hours ago

Atletico Madrid are reported to have a new left back atop their shopping list, a development which could cool their interest in Liverpool 's Andy Robertson.
Earlier this month, Atletico started eyeing up Robertson once talks for AC Milan 's Theo Hernandez fell through.
The Scot could fall down Liverpool's pecking order now Miloz Kerkez has been signed for Bournemouth.
No formal approach was made by Atletico but they were informed of Robertson's interest in discussing a move.
However, according to Spanish outlet Marca, Atletico have changed tack once again with Atalanta full back Matteo Ruggeri now in their sights.
The left back, 22, has impressed for Italy at the under-21 Euros this summer.
He is under contract at the Serie A outfit until 2028 but age works in his favour as Atletico look for a youthful infusion of talent.
According to reports, there are only a handful of details left to be ironed out before Atalanta and Atletico form an agreement, with talks having progressed to an advanced stage.
Robertson, 31, has one year left on his contract at Merseyside and is yet to agree a new deal despite talks.
Asked recently about his future, Robertson said: 'I'm not getting any younger - I can't change my age - but I still believe I've got a lot to give.
'We've had good discussions, me and the club, but what the future holds, I'm not sure.'

‘You are the worst umpire I've seen' – Wimbledon star forces umpire to call SUPERVISOR after refusing to accept warning

WIMBLEDON star Alejandro Davidovich Fokina branded an umpire as the "worst I've seen" and called for their supervisor after being given a code violation at Eastbourne. Davidovich Fokina had just gone 5-4 down in the second set against Jakub Mensik when he smashed his racquet on the floor. 4 4 4 The umpire subsequently handed the 26-year-old a code violation for unsportsmanlike conduct. That, predictably, did not improve his mood. And Davidovich Fokina then lost his temper towards the umpire and refused to accept the decision. During the change of ends, the Spaniard aggressively protested against the decision. He argued his racquet had been thrown down outside the baseline, saying: "Call the supervisor, I don't accept that warning." After sitting down, he then yelled: "You're the worst umpire I have seen. "The worst. I don't know how you can sit there. I threw it three times and you didn't say nothing. "I did it outside, outside the baseline. Video review it. Why you put a warning? It was outside the baseline." BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK ATP supervisor Jerry Armstrong was called out in an attempt to resolve the situation and informed Davidovich Fokina that throwing a racquet on a grass court was not allowed. After cooling off, the world No28 regained his composure to win three games in a row and advance in a straight sets 6-4 7-5 against third seed Mensik. He is now due to play American Taylor Fritz in the semi-final on the south coast ahead of Sunday's final. Davidovich Fokina has been ranked as the No26 seed for Wimbledon, which begins next Monday. 4
