Former Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole believes Harvey Elliott will be hot property this summer after his stellar performances at the Under-21 European Championships. On Wednesday, the midfielder scored twice against the Netherlands to send England's youngsters into their second successive Euros final, with his four goals putting him as second top scorer in the tournament. After the game Cole told Channel 4: "I love the kid, he plays football the right way. I am excited for his future. He has done a great job for Liverpool, but if he decides to move on, there are levels to move on again. That passion, he can show every week."Anyone outside the top six he comfortably walks into, and then two years on that level he comes back to Liverpool's level and competes."He started as a young man at Fulham but his learning has been spread out. Teams from all over Europe will be looking for Harvey Elliott's agent's number."Get news notifications on your clubCole also believes Elliott's match-winning strike- driving forward before firing a low shot into the corner from the edge of the box - was worthy of great praise."That second goal, if Messi did this, the world would be stopping," said Cole. "He has this ability and the frustrating thing is he could do it on a consistent basis if he played regularly."His problem is he can do so many good things. He's a victim of his own skills and that is why he has been so good for Liverpool. They can play him anywhere."What's the plan for Elliott?Should he still be given a chance at Liverpool?Or do his Euros performances just push his price tag up?Let us know what you think

Do players want to live in the North East?

Former Newcastle defender Steve Howey says players tend to lean towards clubs near London despite Newcastle being a club that are "flying".Howey told BBC Radio Newcastle's Total Sport programme: "The area is absolutely magnificent but a lot of players - and possibly their wives or partners - know London and everybody thinks that's the place to be."Of course, unfortunately, they'll tend to lean towards clubs down there because of London - even though you've got a club that's flying like Newcastle, who are going massively in the right direction, have just won the Carabao Cup, have got a brilliant and exciting manager, a fantastic team and ridiculous fans. You can go there and be adored."On the significance of location to a player, he added: "It's hugely important. What people have to understand is the player themselves is usually fine. They can come, they're in among the lads, having a laugh, training and doing this and that, but it can sometimes be difficult for the partner because, at times, they're alone." Austrian Grand Prix first practice

Update: Date: 12:12 BST Title: Dunne replaces Norris in FP1 Content: This is a big day for Alex Dunne. The 19-year-old has already been on Formula 2 duties this morning (he was quickest in practice) and now he's about to make his Formula 1 weekend debut when he takes the place of McLaren's Lando Norris for the opening hour in Austria. Rookie Dunne is leading the F2 championship in his first year after wins in Bahrain and Imola for Rodin Motorsport. Update: Date: 12:08 BST Title: Mercedes back up to second Content: Mercedes slipped to third place after the Spanish Grand Prix earlier this month but a double podium in Montreal has lifted them back up to second and above Ferrari, with 16 points separating the two teams. McLaren are still leading the way in the constructors' championship by 175 points. Aston Martin have also gained a place following a drop off in Barcelona. Fernando Alonso's six points in Canada means Aston are now eighth, just two points clear of Sauber in ninth. Update: Date: 12:04 BST Title: Piastri leads the way Content: Oscar Piastri didn't make the podium in Canada ( he came fourth) but with his team-mate Lando Norris walking away empty handed from round 10, the Australian's lead over the Briton at the top of the drivers' championship is now 22 points. Max Verstappen was runner-up to George Russell in Montreal and while he stays in third place in the standings, the gap between himself and Norris is only 21 points. Esteban Ocon collected two points for his tally in Montreal, lifting him above Racing Bulls Isack Hadjar by one point and into ninth place. Update: Date: 12:00 BST Title: Round 11: Austria Content: Lorraine McKennaBBC Sport Journalist Hello, folks. We're camped in Europe now until the summer break (and for a couple races after), with the opening stop on the jam-packed tour being the Austrian Grand Prix. First practice gets under way at 12:30 BST. Second practice goes green at 16:00 BST. Canada last time out was a Mercedes weekend, with George Russell taking victory from pole position while third-placed Kimi Antonelli, at 18 years and 294 days, became the third-youngest driver to achieve an F1 podium, behind Max Verstappen and Lance Stroll. But the main talking point was the collision between team-mates Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris as the pair fought for fourth place. This wasn't a fiery coming together: Norris held his hands up straight away and acknowledged he misjudged the late overtake. What will Austria bring the McLaren pair, and the rest of the grid, this weekend? Let's find out...
