Egypt's Minister of Health and Population and Deputy Prime Minister, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, took part in the 'Huawei Cloud Summit for North Africa,' joining government officials, international experts, and technology leaders to explore the future of cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) in critical sectors—most notably healthcare. In his remarks, Abdel Ghaffar reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to harnessing modern technologies, including cloud solutions, to protect health data and drive digital transformation. He noted that upgrading health infrastructure and digitising services are key national priorities to achieve sustainable development. Describing digital transformation as a cornerstone of healthcare reform, the minister highlighted the role of cloud infrastructure in boosting operational efficiency, expanding health coverage, and enabling the use of AI and data analytics for evidence-based decision-making, performance monitoring, and targeted resource allocation.
