
Jetstar passenger unleashes at the airline over his $3,000 nightmare - but not everyone is on his side
A Jetstar passenger has had over $3,000 worth of items stolen from him after taking the wrong suitcase home from Brisbane Airport.
Brady Watson, 25, flew home from Melbourne at the end of March following a work trip and accidentally grabbed the wrong bag at the baggage carousel.
After realising his mistake and immediately returning the similar-looking luggage to the airport, months later he still hasn't had his bag returned to him.
He revealed he is 'out of all of the clothes that I bought when I moved' to Brisbane.
Mr Watson was told the other passenger, whose bag he had mistaken for his own, hadn't taken his suitcase, but yet his luggage couldn't be located.
Jetstar 'make the process of you getting your bag back or compensation as hard as possible so eventually you give up,' he claimed on TikTok.
'They wanted a police report so they could conclude whether or not it was stolen off the conveyor belt because if it was stolen then, technically, it is not their responsibility,' he explained.
'Like how do you have no footage what so ever of someone walking around with my bag,' he fumed. 'Shouldn't airports be heavily surveilled?'
Jetstar and Brisbane Airport told Mr Watson they believe the bag was stolen and it is a matter for the police.
But he said he received correspondence from Queensland Police to say they could not confirm one way or the other whether the bag had been stolen or not.
Mr Watson said he's been left extremely frustrated over having to go back and forth with Jetstar over the past few months, while still having no idea where his suitcase is.
A Jetstar spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia: 'We acknowledge this has been a really frustrating and inconvenient experience for Mr Watson and our customer service team has done everything they can to assist him.
'We can confirm we flew Mr Watson's bag from Melbourne to Brisbane and made it available for collection at the baggage carousel following his flight.
'On the day, Mr Watson mistakenly collected the wrong bag. After his bag couldn't be found, Jetstar understands airport CCTV showed his bag had been taken by someone else and a police investigation was launched.'
The spokesperson said that 'despite everyone's best efforts' the bag has not been located.
'We know this is an incredibly disappointing outcome and our team is willing to provide any further assistance we can to the police investigation,' they added.
Many viewers on the video took the traveller's side and gave their two cents on Jetstar.
'Forget the bag, they got me stranded overseas for five days,' one said.
'I had horrible experiences with them and now Qantas is becoming just as bad,' claimed another.
'Brady, I've seen this as I'm about to head to Melbourne on a Jetstar flight. I'm terrified,' added a third.
However, others pointed out he had made the mistake in the first place.
'Lol you took the wrong bag and it probs got stolen, blaming someone else,' said one.
'Have you heard of AirTags?' added anther.
'Jetstar didn't lose your stuff… the ground handling company did' said a third.
'Every airline loses bags... You stole someone else's bag... If you're allowed to make that mistake, the airline can have a free mistake too. Fair is fair,' anther said.
In a statement, Brisbane Airport said both Jetstar and airport staff 'have made extensive efforts to locate the missing bag reported by the passenger'.
'Despite reviewing video from multiple CCTV cameras, it has not been possible to identify who took the bag, and this is now a matter for police,' the statement read.
'Incidents like this are extremely rare, and we understand how distressing it would be for the passenger involved.
'We'd like to take this opportunity to remind all travellers to carefully check that they have collected the correct luggage before leaving the baggage carousel area.'

A former Greens candidate, who was left with a serious eye injury after being arrested by police at a pro-Palestine rally has unleashed at NSW Premier Chris Minns. Hannah Thomas has undergone surgery following the injury suffered during the protest in Sydney's south-west, outside Lakemba business, SEC Plating, which the Greens have accused of supplying materials used by the Israeli military. I've been lucky to be looked after so well by the staff at the hospital,' she said from her hospital bed on Sunday. I was engaged in a peaceful protest and the actions of NSW Police have left me potentially without vision in my right eye permanently. 'This is because of Chris Minns and (police minister) Yasmin Catley and their draconian anti-protest laws. 'The anti-protest laws aren't just a threat to people protesting for Palestine, but for any person who wants a safer world for all of us.' Police issued a move-on direction to the group of around 50 protestors at about 5.35am on Friday to disrupt the alleged unauthorised protest. Four others were arrested and charged during the protest, including a 24-year-old man who was allegedly found in possession of a stolen police body-worn camera. Police said the camera was stolen by an unknown protester during a scuffle and was tracked to the 24-year-old's location. It is not clear exactly what caused Ms Thomas' injuries but doctors are reportedly fearing she may not regain sight in her right eye. The Greens meanwhile have said they have spoken with lawyers to potentially represent Ms Thomas and the other protesters who were arrested during the incident. Ms Thomas has attended anti-Israel protests in the past, having called on Australia to impose sanctions on Israel, whose government she accused of genocide. Moustafa Saoud, the owner of Eleven: 11 café on Buckley Street in Footscray, was punched and kicked by a hooded man on June 20 in a horrifying attack that was captured on CCTV. The disturbing footage shows the man approaching the owner who is standing behind the counter. Mr Saoud is then punched in the face and kicked repeatedly. The assailant had visited the café earlier that day on two occasions to ask for a cigarette. On his second visit, he was refused a cigarette before returning for a third time and carrying out the attack. Co-owners Mr Saoud and Alex Saoud made the difficult decision to shut down the business following the shocking incident. The brothers say they have noticed a spike in drug-related violence in the area in recent months and that it's too dangerous to continue trading. 'It's not worth it, to lose my life for,' Mr Saoud told Nine News. 'I'm not gonna be safe anymore.' 'I don't need to make my mum, my dad upset, him upset. The kindness of strangers: stranded on a deserted back road, three bikies swapped my busted tyre
It was late, dark and a storm was brewing. I'd been helping a friend do some work at a property in the Colo valley, north-west of Sydney, and was heading home at about 11pm. As I was driving across the Colo River Bridge, there was a sudden, loud bang. I'd hit a pothole and my front driver's side tyre had blown, just about swallowing my hatchback with it. It was 1988 and, in those days, the area around Colo was pretty rough. It was full of bikies – proper bikies, not the drug-running kind that don't even have bikes nowadays. The back roads around there are mainly deserted and can be eerie at the best of times. Pulled over on the side of the bridge, I saw a pack of bikies approaching through the rain, which was now pouring down. Just like in a movie, they pulled up around me, engines bubbling along ominously, all leather and gang colours. I thought: 'This is it – they're gonna kill me. They'll take everything I have, beat me up and chuck me over the bridge.' In those days, you didn't look at those guys twice. But just as I was contemplating how I could persuade them to spare my life, the head guy yelled out: 'Need a hand?' I said, 'Err, yes,' telling him it would be great if they could leave their lights on – I already had the jack out with the new tyre beside me, but it was too dark to see what I was doing. With the speed of a Formula One crew, three of the bikies took over, swapped the tyre, let down the jack and then tore off over the hill. I've never thought badly about bikies since – those guys were so friendly and nice. I now try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Their appearance was perfect timing. If they hadn't shown up, I would have been stuck there until morning. I'm not sure if they were Hells Angels, but to this day, I believe they were heaven sent.
