Carrie Underwood Reunites with Make-A-Wish Foundation Child 17 Years Later and Donates over $235K from Vegas Residency
Carrie Underwood made her final Las Vegas show a special one for a longtime fan.
During the closing night of her Reflections: The Las Vegas Residency run at Resorts World Theatre, the American Idol alum reunited with Noel Miller, whom Underwood met through the Make-A-Wish Foundation when Miller was 12 years old.
Over 15 years later, Miller, who has a heart condition, reconnected with the singer ahead of her final residency show on April 12.
Throughout Underwood's career, she has donated a portion of her ticket sales to a worthy cause. She donated $1 of each Las Vegas residency ticket sold to Make-A-Wish, partnering with the "incredible" foundation.

"They make dreams come true for kids who need it and deserve it who are in some really dark times in their lives," she told the crowd of Make-A-Wish at her final show before introducing Miller as her song partner.
"For every person in every seat, that represents a dollar that's going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation." Miller then joined Underwood, who has been a WishMaker for nearly 20 years, onstage to perform "All-American Girl."
The eight-time Grammy winner warmed up the audience for her and Miller to sing and dance around the stage to the upbeat 2007 country song.
Underwood also presented Melissa Arias, the Chief Chapter Advancement Officer of Make-A-Wish and Miller with a check of $236,844 on behalf of all the fans who attended the show.

Underwood wrapped up her Reflections Las Vegas Residency at Resorts World Theatre, which she kicked off over three years ago in December 2021, on April 12.
"We are extremely blessed to be able to be on this stage," she said during her final show, referring to herself and the band. "There are so many turns of events I know in my life, and I'm sure in these guys' lives, that only God could have opened those doors and got me to the next place."

"It's been really incredible to be on that roller coaster ride, and definitely recognize that it's all Him and just all blessings," Underwood continued. 'It has been an absolute honor to get to be on this stage. From all of us, we are so blessed. I'm gonna be reflecting on all that we've done here with you guys."
Up next for Underwood is returning to her American Idol roots to serve as a judge on the singing competition series alongside Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

2025 NBA Finals: The incredible Paul George trades that turned the Pacers and Thunder into title contenders
As it turns out, all you needed to do to reach the 2025 NBA Finals was trade Paul George. Remarkably, this year's Eastern Conference champion Indiana Pacers and Western Conference champion Oklahoma City Thunder were both built from assets each team received in exchange for dealing George. How the Pacers built from trading Paul George Indiana selected George with the 10th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. He made four All-Star teams for the Pacers, leading them to a pair of conference finals appearances, before informing the franchise in 2017 that he was planning to sign elsewhere — preferably with the Los Angeles Lakers — in free agency. Finally, Indiana flipped Hield to the Philadelphia 76ers at the 2024 trade deadline for a pair of second-round draft picks — the first of which they traded again, turning that selection into Johnny Furphy. That is roughly a third of Indiana's entire roster, half of its rotation and both of its leaders. In July 2019, though, the Los Angeles Clippers came calling with an offer Oklahoma City could not refuse. The Clippers were trying to sign Kawhi Leonard in free agency, but the two-time Finals MVP wanted a star partner in L.A., so the organization went about the business of trying to pry George from the Thunder. Advertisement OKC executive Sam Presti squeezed the Clippers for everything he could, acquiring Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Danilo Gallinari and the rights to a handful of first-round draft picks in exchange for George. As if recouping Gilgeous-Alexander, this year's MVP, were not enough, one of those picks — the No. 12 selection in 2022 — became Jalen Williams, who has developed into an All-Star for Oklahoma City. Much of the rest of the package from the Clippers is tied up in this year's draft, as the Thunder own pick Nos. 15, 24 and 44 in June, all from assets they received in the George deal. Oklahoma City can use those selections to replenish whomever they lose from their rising salary costs over the next couple of years. Between Gilgeous-Alexander, Williams and whoever is still to come, the Thunder have built from George a budding dynasty. Unpacking rumor that Stephen Miller's wife, Katie, left him for Elon Musk
In late May and early June 2025, rumors swirled that the wife of White House adviser Stephen Miller, Katie Miller, had left him for tech magnate Elon Musk, who until then had served as the new U.S. Department of Government Efficiency's public face. Some internet users even suggested that the affair had started with Stephen Miller's consent in an arrangement some described as a "throuple." For example, user @ on Bluesky relayed these claims: (Bluesky user @ The post read: Oh I am not sh**posting, folks. Stephen Miller, his wife, and Elon are widely rumored to be a throuple. Now Miller's wife is leaving the Trump team to be with Musk & LITERALLY PER THE NEW YORK TIMES Stephen is angrily subtweeting Musk. They actually put it in the paper of record that he was mad The post on Bluesky had received 7,600 likes and 3,200 reshares as of this writing. The same rumor appeared several times on Bluesky, but also on X, where the official account of the Democratic National Committee tagged Miller in its post of a single empty chair in a supposed hotel room in reaction to rumors that Miller's wife had left government to work for Musk in the private sector (archived): The empty chair represented a meme known as the "cuck chair," a chair on which someone supposedly sits while they watch their spouse have sex with someone else. This post had amassed 2.1 million views and 32,000 likes as of this writing, further spreading the unsubstantiated claim that Miller had cheated on her husband with Musk. Snopes has reached out to the Miller couple and Musk, seeking details. However, because we were not able to confirm or disprove the story, we have left it unrated. The rumor started as Musk, CEO of Tesla and owner of SpaceX, announced his departure from DOGE. Bluesky user Snyder (to whom we have reached out for comment and await a reply) referenced a New York Times story published on May 28, 2025, which indeed referenced Miller criticizing Musk on X without naming him. Miller posted on X (archived) in response to Musk lambasting the "One Big Beautiful" budget bill the U.S. House of Representatives had voted on, which experts, including analysts at the Tax Foundation, said would cause the budget deficit to balloon. The article read: However, Stephen Miller, the White House deputy chief of staff for policy, shot back at Mr. Musk on social media without naming him. Mr. Miller asserted that the bill would reduce the deficit — despite multiple independent analyses saying otherwise — and noted that the cuts made by Mr. Musk's team were unrelated to the spending bill. Lower down in the thread on Bluesky, Snyder linked to a story published on Feb. 27, 2025, in Wired, which Snyder said "strongly implied throupledom." The story explained that while Stephen Miller had assumed the position of White House deputy chief of staff for policy and homeland security adviser, his wife had been appointed as "top communications official at DOGE," directly with Musk. Citing an anonymous Republican source, the story went on to suggest that this had been by design: The Millers are seen inside Trumpworld as glorified babysitters for Musk, tasked with ensuring he stays within bounds, insofar as that's possible. "He gets a lot of grace," the first Republican said of Musk. "Many people aren't nervous, because Stephen Miller is deeply involved. And Katie." This Republican compared Musk to a preteen child. However, the Wired story implied more salacious suspicions about the relationship between the Millers and Musk without making them explicit: Musk's relationship with the Millers has become a subject of great intrigue in Washington as DOGE continues to wreak havoc on the federal government. Little is known about how often they interact outside of work and how the relationship grew over the late stages of the campaign into the transition. "If you can find out anything about Stephen Miller's social life, I don't wanna know the answer," says a longtime Republican operative who knows the couple personally. Given the anonymous sourcing, Snopes was unable to independently verify Wired's reporting. We have reached out to Snyder on Bluesky asking if the user heard the rumor independently. However, on May 28, 2025, a CNN report that Katie Miller had left DOGE to work for Musk full time gave new life to claims that the relationship between Musk and the pair was more complicated than it seemed. Citing three unnamed sources, CNN said Miller was now helping arrange interviews for Musk. Snopes was unable to independently verify CNN's reporting because it was based on anonymous sources. Though several internet users took it to mean that she had left her husband, with whom she shares three children, the reality is that Katie Miller had the status of "special government employee," which precluded her working more than 130 days per year for the U.S. government. As such, she would have had to leave government work regardless of which job she took on after her stint at DOGE. While she did not confirm the story, she had reshared on X one post by Musk regarding his departure from the government, as well as a screen capture of one of his quotes about DOGE, suggesting she may indeed be working as his spokeswoman. Two days later, on May 30, 2025, Musk stood in the White House Oval Office, speaking to the press alongside U.S. President Donald Trump about his return to the private sector. Musk appeared with a bruise around his right eye. While Musk said he owed his black eye to his son, whom he said he had instructed to punch him, the internet once again lit up with speculation (archived): The post had gained 2.7 million views and 41,000 likes as of this writing. Snopes reached out to the Millers as well as Musk asking them to provide further details. We will update this report should they respond. Mariners retiring Randy Johnson's No. 51 jersey in 2026 — after retiring Ichiro's 51 this August
No. 51 is about to be extra special in Seattle. The Seattle Mariners announced Monday that the team will retire legendary pitcher Randy Johnson's No. 51 jersey in 2026 — retiring the number for the second time in a year. Johnson, a 10-time All-Star, spent nine years with the Mariners early in his career. The lefty put up huge stats in Seattle, earning five of his All-Star selections in that span, a Cy Young in 1995 and leading the league in strikeouts for four straight seasons, from 1992-1995. Advertisement The Mariners made the announcement on the 35th anniversary of the franchise's first career no-hitter — thrown by Johnson on June 2, 1990. While the exact date for Johnson's jersey retirement has yet to be determined, there's a small wrinkle: By the time of that ceremony, No. 51 will already be retired. On Aug. 9 later this season, the Mariners are retiring No. 51 in honor of Ichiro Suzuki, while also celebrating his selection to the National Baseball Hall of Fame's Class of 2025. There's a good reason for the oddity. When Ichiro first joined the Mariners in 2001, the star right fielder wrote a letter to Johnson asking if he could wear his number, per USA Today's Bob Nightengale. Johnson gave his blessing. Advertisement In addition, per Nightengale, Johnson intentionally delayed his own retirement ceremony to next year, so that Ichiro could have his own spotlight this year. As a result, No. 51 will be retired twice in Seattle, honoring both of the legendary former players who wore it. The pair of 51s will join the three numbers already retired by the Mariners: Ken Griffey Jr.'s No. 24, Edgar Martinez's No. 11 and the league-wide No. 42 worn by Jackie Robinson. After his time in Seattle, Johnson went on to play with the Arizona Diamondbacks, earning four straight Cy Young awards from 1999-2002 and winning a World Series in 2001. He threw a perfect game on May 18, 2004, one of only 24 in the history of the MLB. Johnson was inducted into the Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2015. His No. 51 was retired by Arizona that same year.
