I'm a Former Lululemon Employee, and These Are 15 'We Made Too Much' Finds I Refuse to Miss This Memorial Day
My fiancé likes to say that I'm a kid in a candy store when I'm shopping the Lululemon "We Made Too Much" section. He's not wrong. I love Lululemon so much that when I was hired to work in one of its brick-and-mortar stores several years ago, I cried tears of joy. I also cried the day I handed in my resignation letter, even though it freed me up to pursue my career as a travel writer. Fortunately, traveling calls for a wardrobe filled with athleisure apparel, and I've been refreshing the Lululemon site to see what's new for the holiday weekend (I may no longer be on the company's internal communications list, but I know it beefed up the "We Made Too Much" section in anticipation of Memorial Day).
If you're a fan of the brand, too, I got you. Below are my top 15 Lululemon Memorial Day finds—most of which I either currently own or recently bought, and will be running to the mailbox to get on delivery day. From the famous Align leggings to the oh-so comfy Love Tank that goes with everything, each piece checks the travel-friendly box with its comfortable fit, high-performing technology, and packable, versatile style. Note: Sizes and colors are limited, so don't leave them in your cart for a nanosecond longer than necessary.
I got my first Align Tank Top—a best-seller that boasts more than 4,700 five-star ratings— around seven years ago at a Lululemon outlet store in Sydney, Australia. To this day, it's still my favorite purchase from the Land Down Under. Choose from 32 colors, including a gorgeous cerulean blue that would be great for a trip to the Greek Islands and a 'hot heat' that looks ready for a Miami Beach rave. This versatile tank is made of Lululemon's unbelievably soft and lightweight Nulu fabric and features a built-in shelf bra with removable cups. Pair it with low-rise shorts for a slight crop top look or with high-rise leggings to elongate your waist.
Lululemon Hotty Hot shorts have been in my travel rotation way before they were offered in high-rise. Nearly 10 years later, they're still going strong. The built-in liner doesn't even have a single hole in it (which is where my shorts usually start to show wear and tear). These shorts are designed for running, but I mostly wear them hiking here in Montana and plan on wearing them while sightseeing in Nairobi next month. Like most Lululemon shorts, they have hidden pockets big enough to stash your smallest valuables. Currently, the Hotty Hot High-Rise Lined Short has more than 3,300 five-star ratings. 'Awesome travel shorts,' wrote one shopper who lives in Hawaii and wears them on 'adventures around the islands.'
Lululemon's Swiftly Tech collection is ideal for active travelers like me who can't get through a day of sightseeing without sweating. This best-selling lightweight layer with nearly 2,000 five-star ratings is made of the brand's proprietary X-Static fabric, which prevents static cling and the growth of stinky bacteria. One shopper who said it 'washes and travels well' described it as 'a favorite for casual or running on cooler days, layering or when you want extra coverage against the sun.' Choose from more than a dozen colors, all of which feature thumbholes and chafe-free seamless construction.
Thanks to the paparazzi, it's no secret that A-listers (and royalty) love Lululemon's Align collection as much as we plebeians do. With nearly 12,500 five-star ratings, these high-rise pants featuring a hidden waistband pocket are one of the brand's top sellers. They're made of a super breathable and stretchy nylon and Lycra elastane blend that feels like a second skin yet offers full coverage. Choose from more than 10 colors and several inseams ranging from 23 inches to 31 inches to ensure a perfect fit.
Cropped pants don't get any more comfortable than these straight-leg pants made of Lululemon's Softstreme fabric that the brand bills as 'peach fuzz soft.' That said, they feel smooth and cool to the touch, making them ideal for summer, and despite the weighty drape, look sleek enough to pass as business casual. One of the hand pockets has a hidden sleeve that's ideal to stash a credit card, and while these pants don't have belt loops, the shock cord makes it easy to adjust the waist. 'Stunning Pants," exclaimed one shopper, adding that the "fit, fabric, and style are perfect."
Sure, you can find more affordable base layers out there. But I guarantee they won't be as comfortable. For starters, Lululemon's Love Tank—which has more than 1,300 five-star ratings—is made of ultra-breathable Pima cotton. Among fabric aficionados, pima cotton is famous for its silky fibers. This top also features a touch of Lycra, so it offers four-way stretch. Personally, I love the slightly relaxed fit and how the subtly curved hem instantly elevates the look. 'They pack well, dry easily, and feel amazing,' wrote one shopper who takes these tanks on vacation. Their only complaint? They wish they came in racerback, too.
These lightweight wide-leg pants were made for summer nights when you want to be cool and comfy without having to bare your legs. They're made of Lululemon's ultra moisture-wicking (and flattering) four-way stretch Swift fabric. You can't iron them without ruining them. But rest assured, they travel well, and unless you scrunch them up, you shouldn't have to worry about wrinkles. After dubbing them a 'vacation staple," a Lululemon shopper said they're 'a must for travel," adding that they "got so many compliments on the pants.' One of the hand pockets has a hidden card sleeve, and the drawcord waist comes in handy for that time of the month.
Every travel capsule wardrobe requires a racerback tank top you can wear for a workout at the hotel gym or under a cardigan for cocktails at the hotel bar. This particular tank, which hits at the waist and has more than 1,500 five-star ratings, is from Lululemon's Align collection—i.e. it's buttery soft but built to last. 'There's nothing like it," a shopper said of the top-rated tank. "It lasts. I have had these tanks for years with no issues.'
Lululemon's Dance Studio joggers have been a huge hit ever since they debuted more than a decade ago. The best news is you don't need to know the difference between a plié and relevé to fully appreciate them. In fact, forget ballet entirely; I think they're great travel pants because they're stylish, lightweight, and practical. While they don't have belt loops or cargo pockets, they do have an adjustable drawstring waist and front hand pockets featuring a hidden card sleeve and secret zipper pocket.
If you like a longer length and tighter fit, consider these Fast and Free High-rise shorts I just purchased in the trending desert red color. Unlike other biker shorts I own, these don't have seams on the inner thighs, so I won't have to worry about chafing. But these shorts' biggest selling point—for me at least—is the five pockets. The largest are big enough to fit my phone and passport, and the smaller pockets are perfect for a wallet, hotel key, and lip balm. That said, don't expect me to get rid of my Everywhere Belt Bag any time soon.
I get most of my travel dresses from Amazon, and usually recommend going that route to my friends. But even I'll admit that Amazon's travel dresses don't look as polished, or as luxe, as this slim-fit dress made of Lululemon's soft-as-butter Nulu fabric. It's basic enough to be considered casual, but the fine ribbed texture adds a subtle, elegant flair. I can easily see myself wearing it with a jean jacket and sneakers or a blazer and heels.
For a sportier, shorter dress, also from the Align collection, you can't go wrong with this versatile piece featuring a built-in shelf bra. But the best feature, in my opinion, is the breathable shorts liner with side drop-in pockets large enough to fit your phone or a couple of tennis balls. While I like the current colors in the "We Made Too Much" section, I'm almost willing to pay full price for this dress in 'pool party'—a beautiful robin egg blue.
Game, set, match this tennis skirt with almost any top in your suitcase. Despite being designed for tennis, it works well for an array of activities, ranging from running on the beach to souvenir shopping in the city. I love the built-in shorts and the Luxtreme liner's drop-in pockets where you can easily stash a credit card or hotel key. Lots of shoppers who left five-star ratings also praise the silicone grippers on the hem, which keep it from riding up.
A relaxed-fit knit overshirt will never go out of style, making this highly-rated top (it has a 4.8-star average rating) a smart investment for the traveler who appreciates the collared look and likes to layer. It's made of a moisture-wicking high high-quality Pima cotton blend that shoppers say 'doesn't wrinkle much,' and the length is long enough to cover your bum, which makes it perfect for pairing with biker shorts or leggings.
Last week, I went on a multi-generational baseball-themed family vacation where we spent almost every day in Seattle's T-Mobile Park, and I definitely could have used this clear version of Lululemon's best-selling Everywhere Belt Bag. This stadium-friendly bag is water-resistant, and while it comes in just one size, the belt is adjustable. Wear it around your waist or as a crossbody bag. With one liter of space, it can also double as your TSA-approved toiletry bag. Shoppers say it makes going through security 'a breeze.'
If you don't need a clear bag, consider the City Essentials Mini Shoulder Bag, which is also water-repellent, just big enough to hold your passport, phone, wallet, keys, lip balm, and hand sanitizer. The pink color and style are a throwback to the '90s, but it's really a classic look that will never go out of style. The internal and external pockets make it easy to keep contents organized. While this bag only has 130 ratings, it has an impressive 4.9-star average rating, and shoppers say it gets them tons of compliments. They also love that the adjustable shoulder strap can be reconfigured to turn this mini bag into the perfect wristlet.

I scrolled through all the new Lululemon bags that just dropped — these are the ones I'm eyeing for summer
There's just something about a Lululemon bag — maybe it's the practicality, the trendiness or the way they somehow go with virtually everything. Each one I own has become a staple in my daily rotation. The retailer drops new styles and colours every week (very bad news for my wallet), and I'm always on the lookout for the next must-have. I'm happy to report that this week's new arrivals did not disappoint. Just in time for summer, I browsed all the latest bags, and these 11 instantly made my wish list. However, I'm trying to show some restraint, so I figured I'd share them with you instead. But I suggest acting fast because, as you know, the good ones don't hang around for long. Already know what you're looking for? You can check out the best new arrivals by category: Shop new Lululemon women's styles Shop new Lululemon men's styles Shop new Lululemon accessories Shop new Lululemon bags Lululemon new arrivals: Shop all This roomy tote is utterly chic and, honestly, this is the bag I'm having the hardest time resisting. It's made of a light-coloured canvas, and the chestnut brown trim gives off a "summer in the Hamptons" energy. It comes with a handy removable zippered pouch to keep your small essentials secure. The belt bag we all know and love is available in fun new summer colours. One standout is the "Citra Lime" shade. This vibrant lime green will add the perfect pop of colour to your warm-weather wardrobe and is sure to brighten up any casual outing. Lululemon is clearly having a moment with their canvas pieces — and quite frankly, so am I. I'm loving the elevated, high-end vibe they're leaning into, especially with the addition of gold hardware. This bag also comes with a detachable nano pouch, perfect for keeping earbuds or a bit of cash within reach. It's June — a.k.a. Pride Month — and this carry-all tote immediately caught my eye. It's roomy, casual and perfect for everything from beach days to running errands. What makes it special? It's adorned with Lululemon's "4ever Love" graphic, which is part of their Pride collection celebrating love and inclusion. Whether you're showing your support or just looking for a stylish tote, this one fits the bill either way. Continuing with the Pride collection, the beloved Everywhere Belt Bag is now available in a new pixelated rainbow print. It's a fun, vibrant twist that will literally go with everything, thanks to the full spectrum of colours. As always, it will hold all your essentials, making it the ultimate grab-and-go bag for errands, travel, concerts and everyday duties. How chic is this knit tote bag? I'm not going to lie, I might just have to add this one to my cart. It's spacious and trendy, and it even comes with a little pouch (similar to a designer tote). The knit material gives it a flexible yet substantial feel that'll definitely stand out from the rest of your bag collection. If the knit tote feels a bit too big but you love the look, I have good news for you: a smaller version is available! This one comes with a detachable crossbody strap, so you can go hands-free whenever you want. It's perfectly sized to carry your essentials (and then some), making it a great everyday bag. Now, if you're on the hunt for a versatile backpack that can be used for travelling, the office or school, this Everywhere Backpack is a great contender. Not only is it very roomy, but it also boasts an internal laptop sleeve, side water bottle pockets and a trolley sleeve to make things extra convenient. Here's another Pride collection piece — the bestselling Multi-Pocket Crossbody is available in a fun purple hue with an eye-catching Pride graphic. If you want more colour in your bag collection, this one's for you.

Diddy's Ex-Assistant Claims Rapper Kidnapped Her, Said ‘We're Gonna Go Kill' Kid Cudi
The trial of Sean 'Diddy' Combs continued in New York City on Tuesday, May 27, with testimony from his former assistant Capricorn Clark, who worked for him from 2004 to 2012. Diddy, 55, is on trial for sex trafficking, transportation to engage in prostitution and racketeering conspiracy. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and denied all of the allegations against him. Clark testified on Tuesday that she began her career with Diddy as his personal assistant before coming back to work as his then-girlfriend Cassie's creative director from 2016 to 2018. She claimed that her former boss threatened to kill her while she worked for him — and threatened to kill Kid Cudi, who started dating Cassie, 38, while she was on a break from Diddy. Clark alleged that 'a very upset' Diddy showed up at her door in December 2011 with a gun in his hand, wearing pants that were split open at the crotch. 'Why didn't you tell me?' Clark recalled Diddy asking, referring to the fact that Cudi, 41, had been dating Cassie. Cassie's Ex-Boyfriend Kid Cudi Claims Diddy Broke Into His House in 2011: 'I Wanted to Fight Him' Diddy then allegedly told Clark to get dressed and said, 'We're gonna go kill this n****.' Clark told the jury that she'd 'never seen anything like this before,' adding that Diddy had never come to her house before and she'd never seen him with a weapon. 'The way he was acting, I just felt like anything could happen,' she noted. Clark then rode with Diddy and a security staffer to Cudi's home in the Hollywood Hills. She said she stayed in the car while Diddy and the security guard allegedly broke into the residence, although Cudi was not there at the time. While in the car, she called Cassie (who was with Cudi) to tell her what was happening and said Diddy had brought her to the house 'to kill him.' After getting Clark's call, Cudi went to the house and a brief car chase ensued. Clark testified that Diddy then asked her to call Cassie and to tell her that 'he has me and that he wasn't going to let me go until he comes to get her.' Diddy allegedly then told Clark to convince Cudi and Cassie not to call the police because if they did he would 'kill all y'all motherf***ers.' Cassie Recalls Diddy's Alleged Threat to Blow Up Then-Boyfriend Kid Cudi's Car: 'He Was Going to Hurt' Us Cudi testified last week that Diddy allegedly broke into his home in December 2011 after discovering that Cassie was dating him. The following month, Diddy allegedly blew up Cudi's Porsche with a Molotov cocktail. Over the Memorial Day weekend, Diddy's legal team asked Judge Arun Subramanian to strike a portion of Cudi's testimony, claiming that the 'Day 'n' Nite' rapper's allegations about the 2012 car explosion were 'mere speculation' and posed 'significant dangers of unfair prejudice.' Diddy's team said a 'witness generally cannot testify that in his opinion, a declarant was lying when making a statement,' referring to Cudi's claims on the stand last week that Diddy 'was lying' when he denied involvement in the explosion of his Porsche vehicle during a meeting in Los Angeles. In addition to telling her own side of the Cudi story, Clark testified on Tuesday that Diddy threatened her early in her employment because she hadn't disclosed that she previously worked for his rival Suge Knight. Clark alleged that in 2004 Diddy and a bodyguard known as Uncle Paulie brought her to Central Park, where Diddy told her 'if anything happened [with Suge] he would have to kill me.' Diddy Asks Judge to Strike Kid Cudi Car Explosion Claims From the Record Amid Sex Trafficking Trial On another occasion, Clark said she was accused of stealing jewelry from Jacob Arabo, known as Jacob the Jeweler. She alleged that Uncle Paulie searched her house and claimed she was given a lie detector test by another man who told her if she failed that she would be thrown into the East River. 'I was petrified,' she recalled. Clark claimed that she underwent five days of lie detector tests related to the alleged theft. After those five days, she was told to return to work, where Diddy allegedly never mentioned the incident or the status of the jewelry. When asked why she didn't quit at that point, she said she felt that leaving would make it look like she was guilty of something she didn't do. I'm Preparing for My Next Road Trip: This Is My Travel Prep Checklist
I love to travel, whether it's hopping a flight to a far flung destination with friends, or hopping in the car for a long road trip. While I love planning my next trip, I still get anxious every time. All of the moving parts of travel start to add up, leaving me stressed and trying to figure out what I've forgotten. Even though I travel often, I still get flustered thinking about how I'm going to fit everything I want to take in my suitcase or carry-on, how best to navigate TSA security lines and even how I need to prepare my home to spend several days away. I'm currently planning a 10-hour road trip to Florida, and while I'm excited to see my loved ones and explore nature, I'm already feeling the pressure of undertaking such a big trip that requires two full days of driving one way. It's nothing I can't handle with a little preparation, though. I just need to take it step by step. To start this preparation journey, I compiled tips to make the whole travel process smoother, no matter if I'm booking a flight or gearing up for a road trip. Want more travel tips? Here are the best times to book plane tickets for cheap airfare and how to avoid having your flight canceled or delayed. Tips for easier flying Airports can be anxiety-inducing even during the best of times. From researching flight cancellations to packing strategically to maximize space in your suitcase, here are some necessary tips for easier, stress-free flying. Fold, roll and cube clothing You may have your own unique approach to packing clothes. Some people opt for the folding method, others prefer rolling garments into tight logs and some choose to flatten their clothes into packing cubes. My suggestion is to combine these three methods. You can maximize space by folding your structured and bulkier clothes like jeans, trousers, formal dresses, jackets and coats. Then, roll up the rest of your clothes and fill the remaining spaces in your suitcase. To further compress your items, place some of the rolled clothes into packing cubes for added organization. It's also helpful to pack loose items like socks and underwear into these compressed packing cubes. Prepare for TSA If you're flying, consider getting TSA PreCheck or Global Entry to skip the long lines and for easier security screening. Whether you're a frequent flier with these perks or showing up for the standard TSA lines, keep your electronics in a convenient spot where you can take them out and put them back with ease. It's best practice to have your electronics in the top layer or outer pocket of your suitcase, or your allotted personal item. Otherwise, you'll have to dig around for your laptop, iPad, etc. stalling the line behind you in the process. Pack essentials in your carry-on When you check your suitcase, you run the risk of losing it. I haven't had this happen frequently, but the one unfortunate time my checked suitcase was lost -- and I had to spend three days exploring London without my luggage -- I was thrilled that my essentials were still with me in my carry-on bags. Your carry-on or personal item is the optimal place for the essentials that would be most difficult to replace. This includes your wallet, contact lenses, eyeglasses, prescription medication, chargers, electronics or anything you would hate to not have for several days. Track your bags To give your luggage some extra protection from loss or theft, consider outfitting both your carry-on and checked bags with tracking devices like Apple AirTags or Chipolo One Point Trackers. Leave wiggle room It's very likely that wherever you travel, you'll want to shop and bring back souvenirs. That means you need to take into account any extra space you might need for the trip back to avoid overweight bag fees. Tips for a stress-free road trip Driving comes with its own set of concerns. From preparing for flat tires to mapping out your route, here are some necessary tips for easier, stress-free road trips. Get your car serviced beforehand If you're hitting the road this holiday season, you should take your car for an inspection to make sure you don't have any issues on the route. Ask the mechanic to check the tires, car battery, brakes, fluids and wiper blades, or anything else that may concern you. It's best to do this several weeks in advance to make sure you have plenty of time to fix any issues or order any parts. Prepare for an emergency Roadside emergency kits are a must-have if you're traveling any significant distance. Some 30 million roadside assistance calls are made every year, according to AAA, so it's best to be prepared for any emergency. Plan your route Maybe this seems like a no-brainer, but it's imperative to know which roads you'll be taking on your drive. Not only will this keep you confident while driving, but you can note any road closures or inclement weather that may impact your route and adjust your plan accordingly. For instance, sections of I-40 in North Carolina and Tennessee will be closed for the next several weeks, and knowing this means I can choose a new route for my Thanksgiving road trip and won't need to be rerouted miles out of the way, delaying my trip. As another safety measure, I recommend taking a screenshot or printing directions if you're traveling in regions where cell service could become spotty. You should also take into account any hotels, gas stations and rest stops along the route in case you get tired or need a quick stop. How to prepare your home before your trip To ensure that you'll come back to find your home just as you left it, follow these safety and home-preparation tips. Unplug your electronics Not only can unplugging electronics lower your energy bill, but it will also reduce the risk of electrical fires. Before you depart, unplug your appliances, lamps, chargers, routers, computers and TVs for maximum safety. Lock your windows Triple-check all your doors and secure all windows before you head out of town. Consider purchasing a smart lock that can alert you when a window is unlocked and allow you to lock it remotely or a home security system to arm your home while away. Time your lights Leaving lights on to make it look like you're home can deter any potential burglars. Rather than leaving lights on all day and night, plug light timers into your outlets or install a remotely controllable smart bulb. Then you can set your indoor lights to turn on and off as they normally would, and set your outdoor lights to turn on at night. Safety is a priority for most families when they travel. To keep your home safe and secure while you're away, follow this home safety checklist to complete before going on vacation. Keep your plants alive You don't have to leave your house plants to die when you travel. You can fashion a drip system out of a plastic water bottle by filling it with water, drilling some holes toward the top and placing it into the plant soil. Read this guide for a full tutorial on how to keep plants alive while traveling. For more travel tips, check out CNET's picks for the best travel credit cards in 2025.
