Associated Press
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Aaron Judge hit the third-longest homer in the majors this season in the first inning of the Yankees' game against the Royals on Tuesday night, a 469-foot shot to left field off Noah Cameron that landed on top of the Kansas City franchise's Hall of Fame.
Judge's two-run homer had an exit velocity of 117.9 mph, tying it for the third-hardest hit homer in the majors. It was his 24th of the season, and came two days after the two-time and reigning MVP hit a pair of homers in a loss to the Red Sox.
The Angels' Mike Trout hit the longest homer of the season, a 484-foot shot against the Giants on April 19. His teammate, Logan O'Hoppe, hit one 470 against A's on May 27. Judge hit one 468 feet against the Brewers on March 29.
Judge has reached base safely in 61 of 65 games this season, including every game that New York has played on the road.

Canadian teen Summer McIntosh shatters third world swim record in five days
FILE - Summer McIntosh of Canada reacts after competing in the Women's 200m Butterfly Heats on day three of the World Short Course Swimming Championships in Budapest, Hungary, Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024. (AP Photo/Denes Erdos, file) VICTORIA, Canada (AP) — Canadian teen Summer McIntosh has done it again. The 18-year-old made it three world records in less than a week when she broke her own 400-meter individual medley mark on Wednesday night. Advertisement McIntosh won at the Canadian swimming trials in 4 minutes, 23.65 seconds to lower her previous best in one of the sport's toughest events by 0.73 seconds. Her closest rival was 12 seconds behind. 'What a week Victoria! Had so much fun in the pool this week,' McIntosh wrote on Instagram. McIntosh had already broken the world best mark in the 200 individual medley on Monday in 2:05.70, two days after shaving more than a second off the 400 freestyle record, completing the race in 3:54.18. The Toronto native also set new Canadian marks in two other events: The 200 butterfly, where she was less than half a second off a record that has stood since 2009, and the 800 freestyle, where she was also just off Katie Ledecky's world record set last month. Advertisement She is scheduled to compete in those five events at the world aquatics championships in Singapore next month. McIntosh won three gold medals at the Paris Olympics last year, winning her three individual events of the 400 and 200 individual medleys and the 200 butterfly. She also won silver in the 400 free. ___ AP sports:

Rodgers marks first day with Steelers by revealing secret wedding
Aaron Rodgers joined the Steelers for the start of their mandatory mini-camp on Tuesday [Reuters] New Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has revealed he had a secret wedding earlier this year. The NFL's four-time Most Valuable Player spent months contemplating his future before deciding to sign a one-year deal with the Steelers. Advertisement Rodgers signed his contract on Saturday and in a picture posted by the team on social media, he had a black band on his wedding ring finger. The 41-year-old held a news conference on Tuesday after spending his first day training with the Steelers and one of the last questions was about the ring. "Yeah, it's a wedding ring," said Rodgers. Asked how long he's been married, he added: "It's been a couple of months." Rodgers was released after a disappointing second season with the New York Jets, becoming a free agent for the first time in his 20-year career. He had visited the Steelers and reportedly received an offer from the New York Giants, but in April, Rodgers said that he was "open to anything", including retirement. Advertisement The 2011 Super Bowl winner previously said that he delayed his decision because of personal reasons and, earlier in Tuesday's news conference, he said: "I was dealing with a lot of things in my personal life. "Some things improved a little bit, where I felt like I could fully be all in here with the guys. "I didn't want to short-change the guys and be signed but be elsewhere mentally or physically. Until I could be here and be all in, I needed to take care of my business." Who is Aaron Rodgers' wife? Rodgers, who spent the first 18 years of his career with the Green Bay Packers, has had a number of high-profile partners during his NFL career. Advertisement But he has not been married previously and did not share any further information about his wife on Tuesday. Speaking to The Pat McAfee Show in December, he said he had a girlfriend named Brittani while discussing Christmas shopping. When one of the co-hosts joked about whether it was singer Britney Spears, Rodgers replied: "Not Britney Spears, no. This is Brittani with an 'i'." Speaking to Pat McAfee again in April, Rodgers added that he is "in a serious relationship". "I have off-the-field stuff going on that requires my attention," he added. "I have personal commitments I made, not knowing what my future was going to look like after last year, that are important to me." Advertisement It now seems that one of those commitments was a wedding, perhaps even a honeymoon too. What else did Rodgers say on first day? After visiting the Steelers, Rodgers has said that he remained in regular contact with head coach Mike Tomlin before informing him of his decision. The 53-year-old is the NFL's longest-serving current head coach having been in charge at Pittsburgh since 2007. He led the franchise to a sixth Super Bowl win in 2009, before losing the big game to Rodgers' Packers in 2011, and the Steelers have not had a losing record in Tomlin's 18 seasons in charge. Asked why he chose Pittsburgh, Rodgers said: "It starts with Mike Tomlin. I've been a fan of his for a long time. Advertisement "The rapport that fell in between me and Mike made it to where, as I was going through my personal stuff, that there wasn't any other option for me. It was here or not play [retire]." Only Peyton Manning (five) has been named the NFL MVP more times than Rodgers, yet a second Super Bowl win has eluded him. Asked what a Super Bowl win with Pittsburgh would mean, Rodgers said: "It'd mean a seventh championship for the city. That'd be great. "I have a lot that motivates me, but this is about the love for the game - a game that has given me so much over the years - and making peace with a nice, long career."

Poland coach resigns after dispute with star striker Robert Lewandowski
WARSAW, Poland (AP) — The coach of Poland's national soccer team announced Thursday has resigned as head coach, days after a spat with star striker Robert Lewandowski. 'I have come to the conclusion that, given the current situation, the best decision for the good of the national team is my resignation from the position of head coach,' Michał Probierz said in a statement published by the Polish Football Association. Probierz stripped Barcelona striker Lewandowski of his position as team captain on the eve of a World Cup qualifier against Finland earlier this week, and named Inter Milan midfielder Piotr Zieliński as the new captain. Lewandowski reacted by saying he would no longer play for the national team as long as Probierz remains head coach. Poland went on to suffer an embarrassing 2-1 defeat to Finland, to put its qualifications hopes into jeopardy. The 36-year-old Lewandowski, who has played a record 158 games for his country and is the leading scorer with 85 goals, is arguably the most outstanding player in the history of Polish soccer. Lewandowski pulled out of last Friday's friendly over Moldova, citing tiredness from a La Liga title-winning season with Barcelona. Probierz, who took over in September 2023 after the disappointing tenure of Fernando Santos, managed to secure qualification for the 2024 European Championship but has since struggled. The Polish Football Association's president, Cezary Kulesza, had summoned Probierz on Wednesday to discuss the matter. 'I give coaches a lot of freedom, but with that comes responsibility. I expect results, first and foremost,' Kulesza said. 'These were difficult days for the fans of the national team.' ___ AP soccer:
