Telangana court allows KTR defamation case against Surekha
Rama Rao filed the private complaint under Section 222 read with Section 223 (BNSS) in October 2024. Cognisance refers to a court formally acknowledging a complaint and deciding to initiate proceedings after examining the allegations.
Responding to the development, Surekha, in a statement, said that she has faith in the judiciary. 'These cases and fights are not new to me. My life has been full of struggles,' she said.
Rama Rao posted on X: 'Truth will always come out, if not immediately, eventually. Power doesn't absolve anyone of irresponsible statements or character assassination. It is a chance to serve, not to peddle rumours or target opponents. I hope this serves as a lesson to those who think they can get away with such actions in the name of politics.'

23 Palamu undertrials ‘enlarged on bail'
Daltonganj: Twenty-three undertrial prisoners (UTP) were 'enlarged on bail' between July 15 and 30 from their respective trial courts in Palamu, following recommendations by an undertrial review committee (UTRC). UTRC comprises the principal district and sessions judge, deputy commissioner, superintendent of police, jail superintendent, and secretary of the district legal services authority (DLSA). The secretary of the Palamu DLSA, Rakesh Ranjan, said, " A total of 24 cases of the undertrials lodged in the Daltonganj central jail were taken up during the July 15 meeting of the UTRC. Twenty-three were enlarged on bail, while one case is pending." The cases pertained to the undertrials, who have served half of the maximum period of punishment specified for the offence for which they were sent to judicial custody, he added. " According to the India Justice Report 2025, undertrial prisoners make up around 70% of the total prisoners in the jails across India. The Daltonganj central jail has on an averageover 900 prisoners, out of which the number of undertrials is 34%. Court sources said the UTRC tries to help decongest the jail by shedding off the eligible undertrials to walk out on bail. Court sources said that if anyone 'jumps bail', then he/she will face serious consequences of various nature.

He reiterated that he is ready to resign again if it benefits the people. The MLA also criticised those who seek positions for personal gain, saying that they loot thousands of crores. Mr. Reddy emphasised that his priority is the development of Munugode and the welfare of its people.
