2.30 Ascot – Queen Mary Stakes (Group 2, 5f)
This big-field two-year-old fillies' contest could go to the US-trained LENNILU, who has won both of her starts in the States, most recently a turf race at Gulfstream Park that was won two years ago by Crimson Advocate, who then landed this event.
3.05 Ascot – Queen's Vase (Group 2, 1m 6f)
A low draw is handy in this race, so SHACKLETON (NAP) looks well berthed in stall three, and he's a likely improver for Aidan O'Brien, who has trained five of the past 10 winners of this race.
Shackleton was a beaten favourite in a Group 3 race over 1m 2f at the Curragh on his reappearance, but this step up in trip is in his favour.
3.40 Ascot – Duke of Cambridge Stakes (Group 2, 1m)
CINDERELLA'S DREAM has strong claims even under a 3lb penalty. She steps down in trip but has a good change of pace and most of her main rivals ideally want further.
This Charlie Appleby-trained filly was as good as ever in winning the Group 2 Dahlia Stakes over 1m 1f at Newmarket on her previous start.
4.20 Ascot – Prince of Wales's Stakes (Group 1, 1m 2f)
There's not much to choose between a few of these, but maybe OMBUDSMAN is the answer for John and Thady Gosden.
He won his first four starts last year and the form of the last two of those victories, gained in France, is good. Indeed, when he won a Longchamp Group 3 in September he had Map Of Stars behind him in fourth and that horse is about the same price as him for this race.
Ombudsman was beaten into second place in the Group 3 Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown on his reappearance, but he was conceding 3lb to a good winner and the first two pulled clear. He should be better for that outing.
5.00 Ascot – Royal Hunt Cup (Heritage Handicap, 1m)
SILAWI won well at Windsor on his recent stable debut – when returning from five months off – and he's still well weighted under his penalty.
He's dropping down from 1m 2f, but his proven stamina is no bad thing in this big-field contest up the stiff straight track and this well-bred five-year-old, who is by Dubawi and out of a dual Group 1 winner in Silasol, may be capable of his best performance yet.
5.35 Ascot – Kensington Palace Stakes (Class 2 Handicap, 1m)
JULIA AUGUSTA, who finished sixth in the Group 2 Duke of Cambridge Stakes at this meeting last year, faces a lesser assignment now and she shaped well enough at Epsom on her reappearance to think she could be the answer in an open fillies' handicap.
6.10 Ascot – Windsor Castle Stakes (Listed, 5f)
OLD IS GOLD (NB) shaped well on his debut when third over course and distance and he confirmed that promise when winning a decent race at Beverley in a sharp time, going half a second quicker than a fillies' race over the same trip.
The runner-up from the Beverley race is in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes here on Thursday and the third horse was a respectable seventh in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes on Tuesday.
Last year's winner of the Beverley race went on to win the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes. In addition, Old Is Gold's trainer Andrew Balding saddled the winner of the Beverley event in 2022, Chateau, who went on to finish fourth in the Windsor Castle Stakes, and there's a fair chance this selection can go a few places better.

Daniel Levy breaks silence on Ange Postecoglou sacking - as Tottenham chairman reveals why he appointed Thomas Frank
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has left Thomas Frank in little doubt about what he expects with a warning that one Europa League trophy is simply not enough. Levy made it clear he craves winning the Premier League and Champions League having sacked Ange Postecoglou just 16 days after leading Spurs to their first trophy for 17 years. He also expects to see a successful Spurs team, beating opponents in a fashion fit for their stylish home. 'There's no point having a wonderful stadium if you don't have a wonderful team, winning,' said Levy. 'Failure is not an option. The desire is to succeed and because it's so difficult I want to succeed even more. 'We've won a European trophy. It's not enough. It's what we haven't done that's more important. 'We need to win the league. We want to win the Premier League. We want to win the Champions League. We want to win.' Levy spoke alongside new chief executive Vinai Venkatesham on the club's in-house media channel about the pressure of the long wait for trophies and the decision to sack Postecoglou, who ended it but presided over a dreadful Premier League campaign last season, losing 22 of 38 games and finishing 17th. 'I'm very grateful to Ange,' said the Spurs chairman. 'I don't regret appointing Ange. 'In his first season we finished fifth and in our second season we were over the moon to win a trophy, but we need to compete in all competitions, and we felt that we needed a change. 'I've an excellent relationship with him. He's always going to be part of our history. Him and his family are always welcome back. 'It was a collective decision, it wasn't my decision, we do everything together. Emotionally it was difficult but we believe we've made the right decision for the club.' Venkatesham explained technical director Johan Lange had analysed more than 30 candidates for the job, delivered a short list and Brentford boss Frank emerged as 'absolutely our number one candidate' and 'an outstanding developer of young players'. On the fresh start, Levy added: 'The things that stood out to me with Thomas, he is clearly highly intelligent, great communicator, super human being, plus all the other technical aspects which are obviously really important.'

Ascot heartbreak for Hannon as Rosallion just eclipsed
A narrow winner of the St James's Palace Stakes on this day 12 months ago, the son of Blue Point finished a promising third on his return from almost a year off the track in the Lockinge at Newbury last month and was a 5-2 favourite to claim his fourth career Group One win under Sean Levey. Rosallion quickened up smartly down the outside of the field to ensure he reversed the form with the two that finished in front of him at Newbury – Lead Artist and Dancing Gemini – but having looked likely to pick up Docklands late on, the latter battled back to claim the narrowest of victories. A BELTER in the opener! Docklands beats Rosallion on the line to win the Queen Anne Stakes 🏆@itvracing | @Ascot | @H_Eustace — British Champions Day (@Champions_Day) June 17, 2025 Hannon said: 'It hurts, it does and it should. But he's beaten an awful lot of champions and hit the front and just got done on the line. 'It's horrible, but no one has died and he's run a great race. He's still a top-class miler and I really thought he had it. 'It was an unbelievable race and he's done everything bar win, he's done us proud and we're delighted.' Considering plans for later in the summer, the trainer added: 'He could go to the Sussex or all of those mile races and that might be a sweeter day. Goodwood could be next and a mile is still his distance. 'All went fine and he's ran a fantastic race. He beat all those horses that were in the Lockinge Stakes, but just found one too good. But we're very pleased.' Just under two lengths behind Rosallion in third place was Cairo, who was sent off a 100-1 shot for Alice Haynes. Haynes said: 'That was absolutely fantastic and three furlongs out I started to get really interested. He's been in fantastic form at home and maybe he won't win a Group One, but he deserves to win a nice race as he keeps knocking on the door. 'He's ran the race of his life there and he will probably head off to America. We'll go to (the) Arlington (Million at Colonial Downs in August) and do a bit of a tour and he can run in the Grade Ones out there. 'A mile or 10 furlongs on quick ground is what he loves and there's plenty of money he can be picking up.' Charlie Appleby bemoaned the lack of a clear run for last season's 2000 Guineas and Sussex hero Notable Speech, whose rider William Buick dropped his whip after switching to the far side of the track on his way to a fourth-placed finish. 'It was a bit of a messy race, but fair play to the winner, well done to them,' said the Moulton Paddocks handler. 'For ourselves, I think it was clear for all to see what happened. We would all love to sit there and say what jockeys should and shouldn't do, but it's easy for us to say that from a bird's eye view. 'He's ran a great race, could I say he's unlucky? I can say he's unlucky in the way the race has panned out and in the end he couldn't get there, but you could see it developing in that way.' Notable Speech could drop back in trip later in the season, with his trainer adding: 'William said sometimes is he really a true miler? He travels for fun and he could easily come back to seven furlongs. The race that is tailor-made for him is the City Of York Stakes now that is a Group One. 'We've got that and the Sussex Stakes which he won last year as options and a easier run mile there would suit him as well.'

Dettori to ride at Ascot again in the future? ‘Never say never'
The 54-year-old left the UK riding ranks in 2023 when he initially announced his retirement only to reverse that decision and begin a new life in America. Speaking to ITV Racing, the Italian said: 'I'm good, I flew here on Sunday after riding in Kentucky, it's my daughter's birthday, you know I love Royal Ascot. 'I still have the little devil in my ear saying 'one more time'. When I was driving here I was thinking how I missed it so much. 'Never say never, at the moment I didn't think it was appropriate to do it but who knows in the future. It's nice to be here and it's amazing racing through the week. 'I've got a different vibe today as I'm usually stressed out thinking about the racing but I'm seeing it from the other side of the fence. 'I'm all good at the moment, but there's a little tear in my eye that I'm not riding. Never say never! 'America is a new challenge to me, it's all new and at this stage of my career I'm having to prove myself again, it's a new experience'
