Stolen gun, drugs, cash found after Fraser Valley traffic stop: RCMP
Mounties who pulled over a driver with no insurance early Wednesday morning ended up arresting three people and seizing a loaded handgun, drugs, cash and cellphones.
An officer pulled the vehicle over around 3 a.m. near the intersection of Yale Road and Hazel Street in Chilliwack, according to authorities.
'When the member stopped the vehicle there were three occupants inside. As the member was conducting the traffic stop, he observed other arrestable offences, and all three occupants were arrested and removed from the vehicle,' a spokesperson for the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment wrote in a statement.
A search of the vehicle found 'bulk quantities of drugs,' $18,000 in cash, a number of cellphones and a prohibited firearm, police said. The gun was found to have been stolen from a home in Northern B.C. in 2023, Mounties added.
'This investigation is ongoing. Multiple judicial authorizations will be done, firearms tracing, drug expert reports, and drug analysis are just some of the things that will be required to get this investigation to where charges can be laid,' the statement from the detachment said.

Motorcyclist dead after collision north of downtown Calgary: police
A motorcyclist is dead following a collision with a vehicle on Friday afternoon, Calgary police said. Police said the collision happened at around 4 p.m. at 12th Avenue and Centre Street N. in Crescent Heights. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital in critical condition, before being pronounced dead, police said. No information is available on the condition of the other driver. B.C. police issue warning after people crawl under stopped train

In a statement, the White Rock RCMP said officers responded to a train blocking the crossing near the pier head around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday. While the train was stopped, police say some pedestrians, including parents with children, crawled under it or walked along the tracks rather than use the Balsam Street crossing. 'This is extremely dangerous. A stopped train can move without warning, and anyone underneath or on the tracks is at serious risk of injury or death,' the statement reads. Mounties got everyone off the tracks and stayed on site to prevent more people from crossing until the train was back moving about an hour later, according to the detachment. 'Never crawl under a train, enter the tracks against crossing signals, or walk on/along tracks at undesignated crossings,' detachment commander Staff Sgt. Rob Dixon said, in the statement. 'It's illegal and your safety is not worth the shortcut.'

Three people from Ohsweken facing drug trafficking charges
Six Nations Police have seized fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and hydromorphone as part of an investigation into drug trafficking. On Wednesday, police arrested three people who were in a vehicle on Sour Springs Road after they noticed the trio had outstanding warrants. During the arrest, officer said they saw illegal drugs out in the open. They seized a Glock handgun with an extended magazine, fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, hydromorphone and methamphetamine. The next day, Six Nations Police searched a home on Pine Crescent and two vehicles on the property. They said more drugs were seized. In total, police said they found 73.7 grams of fentanyl, 107.4 grams of cocaine, 21.8 grams of methamphetamine and 55 hydromorphone pills. A 28-year-old, a 35-year-old and a 38-year-old, all from Ohsweken, have been charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, two counts of careless use of a firearm or weapon, authorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of break and enter instruments.
