Netflix's 'Black Warrant' actor Rahul Bhat did Anurag Kashyap's 2023 thriller Kennedy that was also showcased at the Mumbai Film Festival that year and opened to rave reviews. But it still remains unreleased in India.
And talking about the same, the actor said, 'There's a possibility that it will be released this year. We worked so hard on that film. It hurts, because what is acting all about if people don't see? Why do we make movies or art?'

He added, 'For people to appreciate it, see it, and tell you the good things, criticise you but tell you something! The whole purpose of art is to reach people. If it doesn't reach people, then what's the point?'
Bhat also said, 'It's gone all over the world, and it has been received so well, with a thumping response. It had been to Cannes and within minutes the tickets were sold. In Toronto too, tickets were sold the moment they opened it. "
He continued, 'Here in Mumbai, I think they said in one-minute tickets were sold. In Kolkata, 2000 people were inside and 3000 were outside! There was a lathi charge. In producero ke kaan mein kuch sunai nahi padta hai ya kya pata nahi (I don't know if this news even reached the producer), it's crazy.'
In Kennedy, there's an operatic feel even to the unflinching violence and humor Kashyap establishes in his scenes. There's something gorgeous about the way he shoots brutality. The stretch involving jokes on Covid-19, a quarrelling family, and two gruesome murders in quick succession particularly stands out.
Kennedy begins with a quote of William Wordsworth about poets, their gladness, and madness, and despondency. This could also reflect on the characters in the film. The first shot shows Kennedy, the washed out hero, peeling an apple while smoking a cigarette. The never-ending peel comes off smoothly, the man knows how to strip something naked.

Manifest, Gotham actor Devin Harjes passes away at 41

Washington DC [US], June 2 (ANI): American TV actor Devin Harjes best known for his roles in 'Boardwalk Empire,' 'Daredevil' and 'Gotham,' passed away at the age of 41 years, reported People. Harjes passed away on May 27, as confirmed by his obituary posted on his website. As per People, the actor died after complications from cancer at Mount Sinai West Hospital in New York City. He was diagnosed with cancer last winter. The actor played boxing legend Jack Dempsey across two episodes of 'Boardwalk Empire' Season 2. He also had a nine-episode arch on the Netflix popular sci-fi drama 'Manifest' where he played Pete Baylor, a member of a drug posse known as the Meth Heads. In 'Daredevil,' the actor played Oscar, a Rikers Island Nurse. Whereas in 'Gotham,' Harjes played a bank guard named Clyde. His other TV credits include 'Blue Bloods,' 'Orange Is the New Black,' 'Elementary' and 'FBI.' As per the obituary of the actor posted on his website, Harjes was born in Lubbock, Texas, in July 1983. Harjes' first love was for the care of animals, specifically horses. But he would leave that all behind to launch his acting career in the Dallas-Fort Worth theatre community. The actor then made his way to New York City, where he lent his talents to student films and off-Broadway shows. After honing his skills, the actor landed in the world of independent cinema, starring in films like 'The Forest is Red,' which won him best actor at Italy's Tolentino International Film Festival, and 'The Boyz of Summer.' The obituary states that outside of acting, Harjes "was a dedicated student of martial arts and a regular at the gym--he often joked it was safer than getting kicked in the face by a horse." Harjes is survived by his parents, Randy and Rosanne Harjes, and his sister Trich Harjes. (ANI)

All the deets on Lady Gaga's Wednesday character: Here comes Rosaline Rotwood!

Who's joining Jenna Ortega in Wednesday's second stint on our screens? But of course, Lady Gaga! Putting any and all speculation to rest, Netflix, at its Tudum fan event held in Los Angeles' Kia Forum on Saturday, May 31, officially brought on Lady Gaga as part of the Wednesday family. The pop star and actor of repute will be playing "the mysterious and enigmatic Rosaline Rotwood, a legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday", as stated on their website's official announcement. The event was all in all a very special evening for fans as Gaga jumped out of a coffin to perform a mini set, getting into the groove of the eerie Addams-stamped vibe. She performed Mayhem tracks Zombieboy and Abracadabra, laced with a dance performance to the Cramps' Goo Goo Muck, a direct ode you can say, to Jenna's viral dance scene from the first season of Wednesday. Following this she jumped right back into her coffin, leaving audiences wanting more. Gaga's role in the second season of Wednesday comes shortly after her work in Joker: Folie à Deux (2024) was widely panned — largely owing to the near-unanimous disappointment in how the Joaquin Phoenix-led franchise was taken forward. That being said, Gaga is sure an actor worth her salt, as her work in House of Gucci (2021) and prior to that, A Star is Born (2019) has demonstrated. As a matter of fact, the latter has also gotten her an Oscar win for Best Original Song coupled with a Best Actress nomination — not an easy feat by any means! As far as Gaga's horror cred in acting goes, she starred in two seasons of FX's American Horror Story — the first was in season 5 titled Hotel in which she lead the season as Elizabeth 'The Countess' Johnson and the second was in season 6 titled Roanoke in which she played Scáthach. Coming back to Wednesday, the first 6 minutes of season 2 was shared by Netflix on Saturday. Though there's no sign of Gaga's Rosaline Rotwood in it, we're sure when the moment comes, everyone will be absolutely blown away.
