Tim McGraw reveals Faith Hill rescued him from his 'demons' before he crashed and burned

Daily Mail22-05-2025

Tim McGraw is getting real about how Faith Hill saved him from self-destruction — saying she turned his life around during his wild, out-of-control years.
The country music icon, 58, has long praised Hill, his wife of nearly 30 years, for being a grounding force and inspiring him to get sober.
He's previously admitted he 'would have ran my career into the ground' if he hadn't married the Breathe singer.
He's also credited her for helping him grow into a better father to their three daughters: Gracie, 27, Maggie, 26, and Audrey, 23.
Now, in a new appearance on Tracy Lawrence's Road House podcast, McGraw laid it all bare — saying Hill didn't just change his life, she saved it by taming his reckless streak and silencing his darkest demons.

'I've been lucky. I've been very fortunate. First off, meeting my wife saved my life. I was a wild man. I was having fun,' he shared.
'She turned my life around,' he continued.
'I couldn't have found a better woman. Not only beautiful and talented, but just a good, good person. And then having our daughters. It's life-changing. They make you a better person, and they certainly calm the demons in you.'
McGraw also got candid about life as a girl dad, reflecting on the years he spent raising his daughters Gracie, Maggie, and Audrey with Hill — from coaching their teams to cooking breakfast before school.
'Fatherhood changed everything about my life,' he shared. 'It changed my perspective. It changed the way I thought about what my future would be. It certainly took me out of myself.'
And while he's racked up countless hits and accolades, McGraw didn't hesitate when asked what he considers the true highlight of his career.
'The Soul2Soul tours with Faith,' he declared. 'For a couple of reasons — because it's rare that people get to do that in this business, that a husband and wife get to go on tour at the pinnacle of their careers and get to do stuff together.'
The power couple's joint tours, especially their last run in 2018, have become legendary in the country music world.
But for McGraw, the magic of those shows wasn't just about ticket sales.
'More importantly, she makes me a better artist every time I have to sing with her,' he added.
'I think Faith, when you listen to her music and you listen to her albums, is probably one of the best singers in the world. She just really has such a soulful voice, and her musical taste is just so incredible.'
The hitmakers later took their chemistry to the screen, co-starring as husband and wife in 1883, the gritty Yellowstone prequel created by Taylor Sheridan.

Variety's Jazz Tancay commented: 'WOW! is an action-packed thrilling look at the world of F1 racing, with lots of grit Elsewhere IndieWire's Mike Ryan joked: 'I just saw F1 and apparently it's about race cars and not about a small tornado. But good gosh that was a lot of fun' Brad and Angelina , who share six children — Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, Knox, 16, and Vivienne, also 16 — married in 2014 after meeting on the set of Mr And Mrs Smith. He did acknowledge his love life is 'always in the news.' 'It's been in the news for 30 years, bro. Or some version of my personal life, let's put it that way,' he told GQ. He now lives at his Los Angeles home with his 32-year-old girlfriend, jewelry executive Ines de Ramon. GQ writer Daniel Riley also asked if he made his red carpet debut with Ines at the 2024 British Grand Prix to drum up publicly for F1. 'No, dude, it's not that calculated,' Pitt laugh. 'If you're living, oh my God, how exhausting would that be? If you're living with making those kinds of calculations? No, life just evolves. Relationships evolve.' When the GQ writer asked if making F1 was 'a refuge from all the attention' he said, 'Um, I don't see it that way.' 'It's been an annoyance I've had to always deal with in different degrees, large and small, as I do the things I really want to do,' he said of fame. 'So, it's always been this kind of nagging time suck or waste of time, if you let it be that, I don't know. I don't know. 'Mostly I feel pretty…. My life is fairly contained,' added the ex-husband of Jennifer Aniston. 'It feels pretty warm and secure with my friends, with my loves, with my fam, with my knowledge of who I am, that, you know, it's like this fly buzzing around a little bit.' He also told GQ that the movie made him happy to be a Hollywood actor. 'Man, I've been doing this for a while and was wondering: Do I have more stories to tell? Do I have anything to add to this? Is there still any excitement I can find from this? It just reinvigorated the whole thing again for me.'
