MASTERS champion Rory McIlroy has revealed that he plans to fly back to the UK for a break following a whirlwind few months in the States.
The 36-year-old ended his 11-year wait for a Masters title earlier this year, beating Justin Rose to the green jacket in Augusta.

In winning the prestigious tournament, he became just the sixth male golfer to achieve a career Grand Slam.
But the Northern Irishman has experienced a dip in form over the last two months.
He finished 19th at the US Open and sixth at the Travelers Championship on Sunday.
Following a disappointing few weeks, McIlroy is now looking forward to returning home with his wife, Erica, and four-year-old daughter, Poppy, for a well-earned break.

He said: "I think more so than anything else it'll just be good for me mentally to take a little bit of a break and get back to my neck of the woods, get back to the UK for a little bit.
"I'm excited for that and I've alluded to the fact I probably haven't taken enough time off or time to reflect after what happened in April.
"So I'm excited to do a little bit of that over these next two weeks."
He also said: "I feel like I live two different lives.

Eagle-eyed fans spot Rory McIlroy's 'unrepeatable' magic trick in furious fit of rage at US Open
McIlroy's struggles come just three weeks before The Open at Royal Portrush.
Heading to the home tournament will cap a rollercoaster 18 months for the Northern Irishman.
Last May he and wife Erica were filing for a divorce after seven years of marriage.
But just a month later, the couple revealed they had reconciled.
As they embark on a new period in their relationship, it's understood Erica decided the McIlroy family - which includes daughter Poppy, 4, should leave America and return to live in the UK.

Open snub
At the US Open earlier this month McIlroy snubbed the press after his first two rounds.
He then didn't hold back when explaining the reason behind his hiatus.
"It's just frustration with you guys [some sections of the media]," the golf ace said.
"I have been totally available for the past number of years.
"That [driver issue] was a part of it, but at Augusta, I skipped you guys on Thursday.
"It's not out of the ordinary as I've done it before, but I am doing it a little more often.
"I feel like I've earned the right to do whatever I want to do."

I regularly visit 'supermodel' Welsh beach constantly named one of world's best — it ticks every box
I regularly visit 'supermodel' Welsh beach constantly named one of world's best — it ticks every box This 'supermodel' beach in Wales has everything you could hope for and it's always being named one of the best in the UK, Europe and the world I'm a regular visitor to Rhossili, where you'll even find wild horses roaming above the beach (Image: Steffan Rhys) While people inside Wales could easily rattle off the names of several world class beaches along our coast, they remain very much under-rated by outsiders. You can see the 40 best beaches in Wales here. While beaches around Cornwall, Devon and lots of the English south coast see people flock there by their thousands every summer, fewer people make their way to Wales (though it might not always feel that way in Tenby at the height of the summer holidays!) Even those that do choose Wales will often head straight to Pembrokeshire, overlooking one of the world's most beautiful beaches en route. The beach at Rhossili Bay has been called the "supermodel of British beaches". It is consistently ranked among the planet's finest. Like many beaches, it's best visited in summer but Rhossili has this year also been named as the best beach for a winter walk too. So in a nutshell, it's a knockout whichever time of year you visit. I'm lucky enough to have grown up not too far from Rhossili and visited regularly growing up. And I'm a regular visitor there as an adult too. Rhossili's beach stretches for three miles, offering wide expanses of sand, perfect surfing waves and surrounding cliffs ideal for walks with breathtaking views. You could roam the UK for years and never find a scene quite so breathtaking. I visit this stunning beach regularly - it's been named the world's best (Image: Getty) Article continues below You need to start any visit to Rhossili by first of all standing on the clifftop that rises high above the sand and taking in its full majesty. And then it will likely make perfect sense to you that the beach at Rhossili Bay has been named the best in Europe, as well as featuring year after year in annual lists of the best beaches in the UK and even the world. It's a perfect balance of remote and accessible, meaning that while it's not at all difficult to get there, you are unlikely to have to force yourself through the huge crowds that you'll find at more popular beaches in places like Devon or Cornwall. Travel expert Simon Calder, who you'll regularly see on television giving his advice on travel issues, has described the beach, at the western tip of the Gower peninsula, as "pristine" and "world class". It has been described as "the supermodel of British beaches" and named the UK's "most dog-friendly beach", no doubt due to the huge amount of space they have to run around. Things to do and see at Rhossili The unique waves at Rhossili beach all rolling in at once (Image: Getty) The nature of the Atlantic swell in this area means it's hugely popular with surfers, who you'll often see bobbing around a little distance off-shore, while still being calm and safe enough to swim and paddle in. At times the waves make for a unique sight and you'll often see around a dozen white-tipped waves slowly rolling in all at once in a way you won't see at many other beaches in Britain. The beach is so big and flat that there are, literally, miles of it to explore so you're always likely to have plenty of space to yourself whether it's to walk or spend the day sunbathing or playing with the family. The beach at Rhossili is huge, flat and beautiful (Image: Getty) The wreck of Helvetia, which ran aground here and now protrudes from the beach (Image: Getty) There's even an old shipwreck to explore. Protruding from the otherwise flat sand you will find the remains of Helvetia, which was carrying 500 tonnes of timber when it ran aground here in 1887. There are lots of clifftop walking trails above the beach, including one that takes you to Worm's Head, an iconic outcrop which is accessible on foot at low tide (but make sure you can make it back before the tide comes in!) And if all that isn't enough, it also has one of the UK's most unique places to stay, with a National Trust-owned house perched above the sand providing what must be one of the most spectacular views in Britain to its guests. 'Unbelievably beautiful' — what people say about Rhossili The beach at Rhossili Bay has been widely praised by some of the world's best-known travel experts and guides. In 2017, it was named one of the best 10 beaches in the world, the only one in Europe to make the list, where it joined beaches in Thailand, Hawaii and Brazil. In 2024, it was named among Lonely Planet's 100 best beaches in the world, a year after global travel site Big 7 named it in its 50 best beaches on the planet. The view over the beach in Rhossili to the iconic Worm's Head in the distance (Image: Getty) The clifftop walk to Worm's Head (Image: Getty) The Independent called it "the supermodel of British beaches" and TripAdvisor users voted it the world's 10th best beach in the world in 2013 and gave it their Travellers' Choice Award in 2021. Among the comments from TripAdvisor visitors are those calling it "unbelievably beautiful" and others urging people to "spend as much time there as you can". Places to eat and drink in Rhossili Despite its tiny size and remote location, the village at Rhossili, perched right above the beach, has lots of delightful places to eat, including The Lookout, The View and the Worms Head Hotel itself. However, please note that due to a devastating fire earlier in the summer, the Worms Head Hotel is closed until further notice. The village of Rhossili above the beach has places to eat and drink (Image: Getty) The View is owned by two married couples and has stunning views over the bay and beach. It serves classics like fish and chips and burgers, as well as salads like a beetroot falafel bowl. Across the road is The Lookout, serving coffee, cakes, sandwiches, pizza, pies and paninis. Where to stay in Rhossili The iconic Worms Head Hotel is perched at the edge of a cliff looking down on both Rhossili Bay beach and Worms Head. It has 4.1 out of 5 stars from 949 users on Google. You can get a standard double room here from £160. However, please note that due to a devastating fire earlier in the summer, the Worms Head Hotel is closed until further notice. The white building in the distance is the Old Rectory, where you can book to stay (Image: Getty) The King Arthur pub in nearby Reynoldston is also a good option and there there are other pubs, as well as Airbnb options both in Rhossili and elsewhere in Gower. But the gold standard of places to stay in Rhossili is the Old Rectory, a National Trust-owned property standing in splendid isolation just metres from the world-famous beach. It has four bedrooms and can sleep seven people. It was built in the 1800s and was once a base for radar workers during the Second World War. Its light-flooded rooms and large kitchen make it a perfect place to stay with family or friends - imagine sitting in the front garden soaking up that view as the sun sets over the beach. Divine! It will cost you, though. Availability is limited due to its unique nature, and a three-night stay starts from around £1,500 (and that's not the high season price). Article continues below How to get to Rhossili The joy of Rhossili is how easy it is to get there by car (or bike if you're prepared to put the effort in!) but also how remote it is at the very end of the Gower peninsula, where you shouldn't find too many people vying with you for the best view from the clifftop or the prime spot on the beach. While the clifftop car park can be busy, you should be OK to find a spot. From there it is a gradual walk down a hillside path down to the incredible beach, where you will feel like you have the whole world to yourself. It is also accessible via bus.

Last night, Celebs Go Dating viewers watched a tearful Christine announced she "wanted to go home" and said she wanted to date in a more "natural environment" away from the cameras. However, just 12 hours after the heartbreaking scenes aired, the sexy star teased her return to the show. It came after she posted a clip of her getting upset on last night's Celebs Go Dating episode, and she wrote next to it: "Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has sent messages of love and understanding. To the agents, the incredible cast, and every member of the team behind the scenes. "And to all of you watching at home, your kindness has been a true comfort. "I am so proud that I went for it and even more proud that I chose my wellbeing when I felt it was all too much for me to continue. "Checking in with myself and honouring how I was truly feeling wasn't easy, but it brought me back to where I needed to be - with my babies and those precious cuddles. "Their healing, happy power is everything. Blessed beyond words." Teasing her return to the show, she ended the post with: "@celebsgodating - To be continued." Emotional Christine McGuinness opens up about Paddy's 'mistakes' in split saying 'the trust was broken' The Sun revealed back in June how Christine would return to Celebs Go Dating. We reported how she will make her comeback during the season finale episode. An insider previously told us: "Christine's return was kept top secret from everyone, so they were all so excited to see her come back. "The cast were really sad when she quit the show, even though they totally supported and understood her reasons, so it was great to see her come back. "She started the journey with them all, so it was the perfect end that she got to finish the series with them too." 5 Christine began to cry and said she wanted to 'go home' and 'be with her kids' Credit: Channel 4 TEARFUL GOODBYE Fans watched last night as Christine quit Celebes Go Dating. Speaking to the show's agents, she said: "Well, I've been thinking quite a lot whilst we've been in Ibiza and I think I need to date in more of a natural environment. "I think I just would love to meet somebody and date more privately. It's where I'm kind of feeling myself going back, when I want to go freely forward. 5 Christine split from comedian Paddy McGuinness in 2022 Credit: Getty "Right. And I've made the decision to leave the agency." Continuing she said: "But as much as I am very, very comfortable talking about my sexuality and being me, and I know that I want to continue dating women, I've found that outside attention far too much. "And I've found myself feeling like I'm hiding more. And I don't want that. That's not what I want." Christine then began to cry as she revealed she just wanted to "go home" and "be with her children". The tearful star said: ""I've been missing the kids loads this week. I think all the love I need right now is waiting for me at home." The Sun were first to reveal in May that Christine decided to quit the show during filming. PADDY SPLIT Christine joined Celebs Go Dating following her divorce from Paddy after 15 years together. The couple first met through a mutual friend in 2007, when she was 19 and he was 33. Two years later, he popped the question and they married in 2011 at Merseyside's Thornton Manor Estate. However, they have now been divorced three years, but continue to live together for the sake of their three kids.
