How to watch the Green Games Showcase at Summer Game Fest 2025

Yahoo2 days ago

This year's Summer Game Fest will feature a new showcase for games that highlight environmental causes and make direct contributions to real-world sustainability efforts. The Green Games Showcase, led by the not-for-profit PlanetPlay, will be held on Saturday, June 7 at 4:00PM ET (1:00PM PT) and streamed live on YouTube.
PlanetPlay says the event will be "a celebration of game studios that have raised over $100,000 for certified environmental projects around the world." Those projects so far include Abundant Village, a regenerative garden project in South Africa; the carbon forestry project WithOneSeed in Timor-Leste; The Hongera Clean Cookstove project in Kenya; and The Teeny Tiny Truth, which aims to reduce microplastics in New Zealand's fresh water systems.
The Green Games Showcase is one of several streams that are set to take place between Summer Game Fest Live on Friday and the Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday. Be sure to also check out Day of the Devs, Devolver Direct, Wholesome Direct, the Women-Led Games Showcase, the Latin American Game Showcase and the Southeast Asian Games Showcase. It'll all wrap up with a Death Stranding 2: On the Beach premiere event, where you can get an early look at the game ahead of its release on June 26.

How to watch Sony's State of Play at Summer Game Fest

To view this content, you'll need to update your privacy settings. Please click here and view the "Content and social-media partners" setting to do so. Summer Game Fest week just got even busier. Sony is throwing its own party on Wednesday, June 5 at 5PM in the form of a State of Play. The stream will showcase "must-play" PS5 games from developers based around the world and you can watch it on on YouTube or Twitch . To make things even easier for you, you can watch it right here by clicking the big red button above when the time is right. (English subtitled and Japanese versions of the State of Play will be available too.) The State of Play will run for over 40 minutes, so there should be a bunch of games included. Sony hasn't given any hints as to what it will show off as yet, but it'll surely be worth checking out the stream. We learned about some interesting projects in the last State of Play, such as the very tasty-sounding Soros from Returnal studio Housemarque. There's always a chance that Sony will show up at Summer Game Fest Live on Friday, June 6, to reveal something else off. With this State of Play, Sony is padding out a packed SGF schedule that includes what is routinely Xbox's biggest showcase of the year on Sunday, June 8. And then there's also the little matter of the Nintendo Switch 2's arrival on June 5. It's shaping up to be a fun, if very busy, week.

NYT ‘Connections' Hints For Wednesday, June 4: Clues And Answers For Today's Game

Each day's game of NYT Connections goes live at midnight local time. Before we get to today's Connections hints and answers, here are Tuesday's: It's Wednesday, and you know what that means: it's time for another round of Connections! I'm trying to take things as easy as I can in the first half of this week before a hectic few days. I'll be covering the various Summer Game Fest events over the weekend elsewhere (and maybe a bit here too!). Not to mention that I am waiting very impatiently for my Nintendo Switch 2 to show up any day now. Really looking forward to getting my hands on that, to both write about it and play a ton of Mario Kart World. See you on the race track? Before we begin, we have a great little community on Discord, where we chat about NYT Connections, the rest of the NYT games and all kinds of other stuff. Everyone who has joined has been lovely. It's a fun hangout spot, and you're more than welcome to hang out with us. Discord is also the best way to give me any feedback about the column, especially on the rare (or not-so-rare) occasions that I mess something up. I don't look at the comments or Twitter much. You can also read my weekend editions of this column at my new newsletter, Pastimes. Today's NYT Connections hints and answers for Wednesday, June 4 are coming right up. Connections is a free, popular New York Times daily word game. You get a new puzzle at midnight every day. You can play on the NYT's website or Games app. You're presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to arrange them into four groups of four by figuring out the links between them. The groups could be things like items you can click, names for research study participants or words preceded by a body part. There's only one solution for each puzzle, and you'll need to be careful when it comes to words that might fit into more than one category. You can shuffle the words to perhaps help you see links between them. Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult one. The purple group often involves wordplay. Select four words you think go together and press Submit. If you make a guess and you're incorrect, you'll lose a life. If you're close to having a correct group, you might see a message telling you that you're one word away from getting it right, but you'll still need to figure out which one to swap. If you make four mistakes, it's game over. Let's make sure that doesn't happen with the help of some hints, and, if you're really struggling, today's Connections answers. As with Wordle and other similar games, it's easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats. If you have an NYT All Access or Games subscription, you can access the publication's Connections archive. This includes every previous game of Connections, so you can go back and play any of those that you have missed. Aside from the first 60 games or so, you should be able to find our hints Google if you need them! Just click here and add the date of the game for which you need clues or the answers to the search query. Scroll slowly! Just after the hints for each of today's Connections groups, I'll reveal what the groups are without immediately telling you which words go into them. Today's 16 words are... And the hints for today's Connections groups are: Need some extra help? Be warned: we're starting to get into spoiler territory. Let's take a look at one word for each group. Today's Connections word hints are… Today's Connections groups are... Spoiler alert! Don't scroll any further down the page until you're ready to find out today's Connections answers. This is your final warning! Today's Connections answers are... I suspected when I saw CONSOLE and CLOUD that those might refer to types of gaming, but I didn't immediately see anything that made sense with them. The yellows jumped out at me quickly, though, so I sorted those out. I then made an error by grouping CONSOLE (as in to offer sympathy) with CHEER, ROOT and CLAP. It didn't make sense with those. WHISTLE, however, did for the greens. I figured that BOWLER, APPLE and PIPE would be elements of that one painting, the title of which I couldn't remember. As such, the blues gelled together in my mind as part of a group of household items. I was close enough to the purple connection, at least! It refers to the work of Belgian surrealist artist René Magritte. In case you'd like a couple of examples… Oh jeez, that makes it win number 99 on my current streak. Tomorrow's a big day. Join me for it? For the record, here's how I fared with this one: 🟨🟨🟨🟨 🟩🟩🟦🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟦🟦🟦🟦 🟪🟪🟪🟪 That's all there is to it for today's Connections clues and answers. Be sure to check my blog tomorrow for hints and the solution for Wednesday's game if you need them. P.S. Regular readers may be aware that I am completely enamored with Electric Callboy and their brilliant blend of techno, metal, pop and just plain fun. Their latest single, "Revery," doesn't have much in the way of the EDM side of things, but I love it all the same. It's a darker song with a nursery rhyme-like intro and outro and plenty of screaming – so fair warning, in case that's not your jam. The video's great too. It seems to draw inspiration from the likes of The NeverEnding Story and Stranger Things (gonna have to rewatch that show before the final season later this year!): Have a great day! Stay hydrated! Call someone you love! Please follow my blog for more coverage of NYT Connections and other word games, and even some video game news, insights and analysis. It helps me out a lot! Sharing this column with other people who play Connections would be appreciated too. You can also read my weekend editions of this column at my new newsletter, Pastimes.

Playstation is holding its State of Play summer showcase this week

Sony has announced it will hold a summer State of Play presentation on Wednesday, June 4th, making this first week of June an all-timer for the video game industry. Not only do we have the Switch 2 launching this week, but all the video game showcases are dropping at once, because while E3 is a thing of the past, we still need an excuse to party. Summer Game Fest, affectionately (or not) known as Keigh-3, kicks off Friday, June 6th. Xbox will host its showcase on Sunday, June 8th. Epic has its State of Unreal going on right now. And now PlayStation will join the slate of summer programming with its own showcase on Twitch and YouTube starting at 5PM ET / 2PM PT. According to the announcement, we can expect a 40-minute livestream featuring updates on forthcoming PlayStation 5 titles and possibly a few surprises. The biggest game that seems possibly set to make an appearance is Death Stranding 2: On The Beach from Metal Gear Solid maestro Hideo Kojima. Sucker Punch's Ghosts of Yotei will also likely get a brief update, whetting the appetite of those waiting on its October 2nd release date.
