Defoe, who played 57 times for England, was driving a Land Rover in Wormley, Herts, JPs in St Albans were told.
His barrister said the ex-Spurs ace deserved credit for pleading guilty.
Defoe, who was not in court, was fined £660 plus £90 costs and a £266 victim surcharge.
He also got three points to add to the nine already on his licence.
Defoe was previously banned from the road for six months in July 2008 for speeding.
He received another six-month ban for the same offence the following year.
He later admitted driving at 45mph in a 30mph zone in Portsmouth in May 2008.
He was given an additional four points on his license.
The star ended up in court again in October 2010 after being caught with a phone behind the wheel while driving in Loughton.
He was handed three points - narrowly avoiding another ban - and fined £800.
Defoe was then slapped with his third six-month ban two years ago when he was clocked doing 56mph in a 30mph zone in Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire in December 2020.

Tony Hudgell's mother could be released from prison just SEVEN years after being locked up for sick abuse that saw boy lose both his legs as a toddler
The evil mother who abused little Tony Hudgell so badly that he lost his legs is to be freed early from prison, just seven years after being locked up for carrying out the sick torture. Jody Simpson, 31, was jailed in 2018 for 10 years alongside Tony's birth father Anthony Smith after they were both convicted of child cruelty offences. Tony suffered from broken fingers and toes, torn ligaments and contracted sepsis after his birth parents carried out the depraved abuse when he was just six-weeks-old. They left him to suffer in agonising pain for ten days before taking him to hospital. He was on the verge of death when medics first saw him, and due to the extreme level of abuse he suffered, both of his legs needed to be amputated in 2017. But the Parole Board has agreed to release the monster mother from prison, The Mirror reported, after she had 'engaged with art psychotherapy…and victim awareness work'. Tony's adoptive mother, Paula Hudgell, criticised the decision and warned Simpson 'remains a serious risk to children'. Simpson was released in February 2024 but was recalled to prison in June last year following 'a relationship with a convicted sex offender'. Tory MP Tom Tugendhat has posted his support to Tony 'as he faces the early release of his abuser'. The board had in March rejected an application for the hearing to be held in public. They told the BBC their decisions are 'solely focused on what risk a prisoner could represent to the public if released and whether that risk is manageable in the community'. Mrs Hudgell wrote in a post on social media: 'After serving just two years on licence, she will be legally free to live as she chooses. This includes being around children—and even having another child. 'This situation underscores the urgent need for a national child cruelty register—a system to ensure that individuals with a history of harming children are monitored, restricted, and prevented from reoffending. 'Our children deserve protection. A register would not only help safeguard vulnerable young lives, but also bring peace of mind to communities across the country. 'It's time we put children's safety first.' Tony has previously been hailed a hero by Prince William and wife Kate over his extraordinary fundraising walks to help vulnerable children. Mrs Hudgell wrote in a post on social media: 'After serving just two years on licence, she will be legally free to live as she chooses. This includes being around children—and even having another child' Princess Kate Middleton pictured with Tony at the Day Centre at the Westminster Hospital He has won a Pride of Britain award for raising £1.7million for the hospital which started treating him and has also received the British Empire Medal for services to the prevention of child cruelty He has won a Pride of Britain award for raising £1.7million for the hospital which started treating him and has also received the British Empire Medal for services to the prevention of child cruelty. In addition to raising the impressive sum, the youngster also inspired an English law change, known as 'Tony's Law', enacted in the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022. Tony's Law calls for increased prison sentences for those convicted of child cruelty and neglect. A Ministry of Justice spokesperson said: 'This was a horrific crime that saw Tony Hudgell mercilessly tortured by his birth parents and our thoughts remain with him and his loved ones. 'Now that the independent parole board has directed her release, Jody Simpson will be subject to strict supervision and licence conditions. She faces an immediate return to prison if she breaks the rules.'

Second Love Island star questioned by police after woman complained her phone had been stolen after Kyle Ashman was axed following machete attack
Love Island contestant Dejon Noel-Williams was reportedly questioned by police after a woman complained her phone had been stolen. The semi-pro footballer, 26, was interviewed by the police after a woman's mobile was taken in London. However he was released without any further action. Dejon is the second of this year's lineup to have been questioned by the police, after fellow contestant Kyle Ashman was axed from the upcoming series on Tuesday after he was involved in a machete attack in February. Kyle was one of two arrested by police but he was released with no further action and ITV confirmed he had left the villa citing 'personal reasons'. Meanwhile ITV were aware of the incident with Dejon when he secured his place on the dating show, a spokesman confirmed to The Sun. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. According to the publication he spoke to the police alongside Kettering FC footballer Harlain Mbayo, who was ordered to carry out a community resolution. The dispute was sparked over payment for food and an Uber taxi ride. Dejon confirmed in a statement to MailOnline: 'Out of respect to the other people involved here, I would prefer not to have to address this, but I have no choice given that the narrative that has been put forward is unfairly damaging and completely inaccurate. 'I was never arrested; I voluntarily spoke to the police to clarify the truth about what happened in this incident, with no further action taken. 'To stress, my intentions here were entirely honourable, and it is very upsetting to read claims that suggest otherwise.' Meanwhile The Met Police said: 'On March 16 at 04:05hrs officers responded to a report of a robbery in which a phone was taken. 'An investigation was launched and two men voluntarily took part in interviews. The victim's phone was recovered and has been returned. 'No further action was taken against the 26-year-old man.' ITV confirmed that they speak to the islanders before the show and carry out rigorous background screening, including DBS checks. On Wednesday Conor Phillips was announced as the new Love Island contestant after it was revealed Kyle had been axed from the show on Tuesday evening after being involved in a machete attack. Following the reports, Kyle confirmed he had no involvement in the incident, but has chosen to leave the ITV show regardless. He told MailOnline: 'I fully cooperated with this police investigation and made it very clear that I had no involvement in this incident. 'I am not a violent person and any suggestion otherwise is a mischaracterisation.' Meanwhile ITV added: 'For personal reasons, Kyle will not be entering the Love Island Villa as planned.' The Sun revealed they alerted bosses on Kyle being questioned in the attack but ITV said they were unaware of the incident and he was not flagged during the contestant checks. The incident on February 28 saw the victim, 38, nearly lose his arm after he was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment and kept it for around two weeks. Another victim was reportedly glassed, one hit with a metal pole, and two people were run over by a car during the 15 minute attack at the The White Eagle Club in Stafford. Sources said the victim was attacked by three balaclava-clad thugs over an alleged £3,000 debt. He was injured by a blade that left him with a deep gash and has suffered tendon damage and is now unable to drive. Police confirmed on Tuesday that after the matter had been investigated Kyle and another individual were released with no further action only last month. A show source told the publication: 'ITV were entirely unaware of Kyle's past and, as he was not charged, it was not flagged as part of Love Island's stringent DBS checks. 'It's only right he can now return home to the UK to share his side of the story and therefore bosses took the decision that it was best for him not to enter the villa.' Love Island returns Monday 9th June at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX

Adolescence continues to make records months after Netflix release
The UK crime drama miniseries Adolescence, co-created by and starring Stephen Graham, has surpassed Stranger Things to become Netflix 's second most-watched English-language TV series, with 141.2 million views since its debut on March 13. Adolescence recently won Breakthrough Limited Series and acting awards for Stephen Graham and Owen Cooper at the 2025 Gotham TV Awards. The four-part series Adolescence follows the aftermath of a 13-year-old boy's arrest for murdering a classmate, with each episode filmed in one take. Director Philip Barantini told The Independent that shooting each episode in one take was challenging but meticulously planned, requiring collaboration from the sound team, ADs, and runners.
