Couple Booked a Quiet Airbnb Getaway. What They Found Inside Was Not in the Listing (Exclusive)

A couple booked an Airbnb and unexpectedly found themselves dog-sitting a pitbull named Xanthe
The dog followed a 'spiritually aligned' care routine involving sound baths and chakra-balancing meals
The host's eccentricity and the dog's charm turned the strange weekend into a viral sensationA peaceful getaway can bring unexpected surprises, but few are as memorable as the one that greeted a recent Airbnb guest.
When Milky, who prefers to go by his nickname, arrived at his rental, he was met not by a welcome basket or a handwritten note, but by a pitbull named Xanthe — who was not mentioned in the listing.
'It was a bit of a shock! At first I thought we entered the wrong house or that the dog had been left behind,' Milky tells PEOPLE. He and his partner had traveled to the area to scout wedding venues, but dog sitting was not on their itinerary.
The story, first shared in a viral TikTok, captivated viewers with its blend of confusion and comedy. In the video, Milky can be heard asking, 'Whose dog is this?' as Xanthe greets him in the living room.
In a follow-up TikTok clip, Milky explained how he reached out to the property's host for clarification. 'I sent a message to the owner, just asking what's going on,' he recalls.
The message read: 'Hi, I'm a bit confused, we are staying at your Airbnb and there's a dog here? We didn't realize there would be a pet around and it's not mentioned on the listing. Just checking this is in fact your dog? Or have we stumbled upon an abandoned dog?'
The response he received was as unexpected as Xanthe's presence. 'Hey. Oh yep, that's my girl Xanthe! Sorry if that wasn't clear in the listing… She's basically the guardian of space, deeply in tune with its energy. But don't worry, she's super chill and just here to vibe,' the host replied.
Milky says it quickly became clear that Xanthe was not just any dog, but a central figure in the home. 'I think the more time we spent in the house and looked around it was evident. A room dedicated to the dog with a sign on the door saying 'the paw palace', it was all very strange. I kept thinking, did I miss the memo???'
The host's instructions for Xanthe's care soon went viral in their own right, thanks to their spiritual flair. 'The whole care ritual itself was pretty bonkers. Referring to Xanthe being outside as a 'spiritual pilgrimage' was next level,' Milky says.
Among the guidelines: Xanthe only eats a 'spiritually aligned diet,' drinks filtered water to avoid 'disrupting her chakra balance,' and requires a daily two-hour sound bath featuring 'ancient dog chants.'
Milky didn't adhere to the rules immediately, but eventually, he gave in. 'I did end up giving her filtered water and her spiritually aligned diet. I didn't want to disturb her flow or diet. Though at times it felt like I was an unpaid dog sitter,' he admits.
Despite the initial surprise and the unconventional pet care routine, Milky says the experience took a positive turn.
'Apart from having to look after the dog's chakras, it ended up being a pleasant surprise," he notes. "She was very loving, licked a lot. So it was overbearing at times, but we embraced her. She even came and looked at some wedding venues with us.'

The viral saga has made Milky more cautious when it comes to booking future accommodations. 'Airbnb was nice enough to give us credit for the hassle. But next time I think we'll just stick to hotels,' he says. A representative for Airbnb did not yet respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.
As for whether he'd stay at the same property again, Milky isn't so sure. 'I was looking for the listing to share with some friends recently, and it appears after the incident, the property is no longer listed!'
'If I had known, I don't think I would've booked the place,' he adds. 'It was cute in the end, but did add extra stress for what was meant to be a romantic weekend.'

Judge Warns Diddy He Could Be Kicked Out Of Court For His 'Absolutely Unacceptable' Behavior

Sean 'Diddy' Combs' ongoing sex trafficking trial has yielded a plethora of shocking claims, heavy testimonies, and accusations — and those present in the courtroom are generally expected to keep their reactions to a minimum. On Thursday (June 5), the defendant was warned by the judge he may be removed from the courtroom due to facial expressions he repeatedly made to jurors. U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian said Diddy's behavior was 'absolutely unacceptable,' as it was seen as attempting to interfere with members of the jury during today's testimonies. 'I was very clear there should be no facial expressions to the jury and I could not have been clearer,' Subramanian said, per NBC. 'There was a line of questioning where your client was nodding vigorously and looking at the jury.' 'There should be no efforts to have any interactions with this jury,' he sternly warned. The judge asked defense lawyer Marc Agnifilo if this would happen again, and the attorney replied, 'No, your honor, it's not going to happen again.' Subramanian stated that if the Bad Boy founder continued interfering with the panel, he will 'give an instruction to the jury or it could result in the exclusion of your client from the courtroom.' Today's incident is not the only time a disruption occurred in the room, as earlier this week, someone's behavior did result in them being removed from court proceedings. On Tuesday (June 3), a heckler who identified as a Diddy supporter yelled out profanities because she was 'tired of seeing everyone treating Diddy the way they are.' 'These motherf**kers are laughing at you,' the woman yelled at Combs in the Southern District of New York courtroom, per PEOPLE. The outlet reports she shouted several additional profanities before Judge Arun Subramanian ordered her to be escorted out. She also said: 'You're laughing at a Black man's legacy' and 'pull your gun out ninja, I dare you.' Diddy remained seated in his spot and did not have a noteworthy reaction to what was said. The father of seven is facing one count of racketeering conspiracy; two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was arrested in NYC on Sept. 16, 2024, and held at MDC Brooklyn without bail. His trial is expected to last all of June and into July. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Wedding Singers Serenade King Charles as New Details Emerge on Family Rift

King Charles was treated to a rare performance by the very same group that sang at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's 2018 royal wedding. While visiting London's first SXSW festival on Thursday, June 5, the monarch was serenaded by The Kingdom Choir, Metro reported. The group performed from the West End of St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle when Harry and Meghan tied the knot seven years ago. The King was also greeted by The Kingdom Choir singer Karen Gibson, and the two were seen shaking hands at the festival while huddled under umbrellas. The moment comes amid fresh reports of family tensions. Harry and Meghan reportedly considered changing their children's surname to Spencer after a delay in receiving their children's passports. According to The Guardian, Harry consulted his uncle Charles Spencer amid claims officials 'dragged their feet' because the applications included HRH titles for Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4 — titles a source said King Charles opposed. PEOPLE confirms the conversation took place but denies reports that Spencer advised against the change. Buckingham Palace has strongly denied any role in the delay. Despite Harry's public call for reconciliation, the monarch has yet to make a personal move toward reconciliation. Trust remains the biggest barrier to a reunion; insiders say neither King Charles nor Prince William are ready to bridge the divide. 'The underlying issue is trust,' royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith tells PEOPLE in this week's issue. 'The King and William don't trust Harry and Meghan with any kind of confidential conversation.' Gibson and The Kingdom Choir are scheduled to perform at SXSW in Shoreditch Church the evening of June 5, according to the official SXSW festival website, which notes that the group has previously sung with legends like Barbra Streisand and performed at The Coronation Prom at the Royal Albert Hall. When the group performed at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding, they sung a gospel performance of 'Stand by Me.' The group's performance came before the Archbishop of Canterbury led Harry and Meghan's vows, and followed an address from Bishop Michael Bruce Curry. After Harry and Meghan said their vows and walked out of the church together, Gibson and her choir performed "This Little Light of Mine." The couple reflected on the moment during a December 2020 holiday special episode of their Archewell Audio podcast. While signing off the episode with "This Little Light of Mine," Harry told listeners the song "means so much to us," adding, "Not a toast per se, but a song – which is about shining a light." Meghan continued, " 'This Little Light of Mine'' played at the very end of our wedding while we were walking down the steps of the church. It was the music that we wanted playing when we started our lives together. Because as we all know, 'darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that…' " Harry said the song's message is one he and Meghan "hold so dearly," explaining, "It's about using the power we each have within us to make this world a better place." Can't get enough of PEOPLE's Royals coverage? to get the latest updates on Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and more! Less than a year after The Kingdom Choir performed at their wedding, Harry and Meghan saw the group again during a visit to Australia. The group performed at the closing ceremony for Harry's Paralympic-style Invictus Games in Sydney in October 2018. "We love what the Games stand for and are privileged to be able to honor the men and women competing," Gibson said in a statement at the time. Read the original article on People

DDG Claims Halle Bailey Once Held Gun During Near 'Suicidal' Breakdown

DDG is raising serious concerns about ex-girlfriend Halle Bailey's mental health as their custody battle over their infant son, Halo, continues to intensify. According to court documents obtained by People, the rapper and YouTuber filed a motion seeking to prevent Bailey from traveling internationally with their child, recalling an alleged instance in which Bailey held a gun during an emotional breakdown. The filing cited what DDG described as 'repeated threats of suicide and self-harm' during previous disputes between himself and Bailey. DDG claims that during the alleged incident, Bailey left their home with a firearm following an argument. He claims he later found her outside 'emotionally unwell, incoherent and potentially suicidal,' while still in possession of the gun. The rapper argues that these alleged episodes highlight a potential risk to their son's safety should Bailey be permitted to travel overseas—specifically to Italy as part of her reported travel plans—without appropriate safeguards in place. He points to the seeming lack of 'emergency intervention mechanisms' that are readily available, emphasizing the need for precaution regarding their son. Despite the severity of the allegations, a judge has since denied DDG's motion to restrict Bailey's travel, allowing her to proceed with her international trip with their son. DDG and Halle Bailey began dating in early 2022 and publicly confirmed their relationship later that year. The couple welcomed their son, Halo, in December 2023, though they kept the pregnancy and birth largely private. They reportedly split in early 2024, shortly after becoming new parents.
