Taylor Swift thanks Brittany Mahomes for keeping her calm during intense Chiefs AFC title win
Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes were all smiles on Sunday night as they joined their partners on the field to celebrate the Kansas City Chiefs' AFC Championship win over the Buffalo Bills.
Photos showed Swift and Mahomes embracing on the field as they watched Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes accept the Lamar Hunt Trophy and talk about the possibility of making history with a potential third consecutive Super Bowl championship.
A video also showed what Swift told Mahomes on the field as confetti fell onto GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
"Oh my God, you kept me so calm the last couple weeks," the pop star said, which was captured by The Kansas City Star on TikTok.
Mahomes had a little more experience in handling the high-pressure moments that the Chiefs have dealt with over the last few years. The Associated Press noted that Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has trailed in the fourth quarter in nine playoff games and has won the game in six of those times. He forced overtime in two others before losing.
Swift got to witness firsthand just how wild Chiefs games could get when they won against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVII.
"I did not know what to do, and I told Brittany, 'Tell me it's gonna be OK,'" she told Donna Kelce on the field.
In the end, it was.
The Chiefs drove up the field to deliver the go-ahead field goal from Harrison Butker. Their defense was able to do enough to stymie Josh Allen and the Bills' offense in the closing seconds to hold on for the win.

The Steelers have added quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The move hasn't added much to their betting odds for 2025. At DraftKings, the Steelers have dropped from a +4500 underdog to win the Super Bowl to +4000. Even with Rodgers, the Steelers remain decidedly below elite teams like the Bills (+700), the Ravens (+700), the Chiefs (+750), and the Bengals (+2000). Even the Chargers and Broncos — both at +2500 — are viewed as significantly better bets than the Steelers to win it all. One sports book executive summarized the situation in blunt terms. 'Rodgers has been awful,' Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook V.P. of risk Ed Salmons told Fawkes. 'Before he ruptured his Achilles, his last year in Green Bay he wasn't good. Since the [Achilles] injury, he can't move — he just dumps it off so he doesn't get hit. [Mason] Rudolph and Rodgers are the same thing for me.' Most would say the two aren't the same. The question is whether, with Rodgers, the Steelers become anything more than a team that gets to the postseason and might or might not win a playoff game for the first time in nine years.

Josh Beehre has scored a converted try after the hooter as the Blues kept their Super Rugby Pacific title defence alive with a 20-19 victory over the ladder-topping Chiefs in Hamilton to scrape into the playoff semi-finals. The Chiefs still advance to the last four under the "lucky losers" rule, but it was do-or-die on Saturday for the sixth-placed Blues who produced a suitably desperate performance. "There's been a whole lot of ups and downs through our season, and... although there's another week for us, we've got to enjoy that kind of moment," said Blues skipper Patrick Tuipulotu. "I'm glad we were able to sort of grind it out in that last 10 minutes." The twice World Player of the year chipped the ball over the home defensive line at midfield, got to it first and volleyed it past the last defenders but was unable to get his hands on it under the posts. Barrett cut the deficit with his second penalty soon after the break but McKenzie responded in kind three minutes later and the Chiefs were 19-6 ahead just before the hour mark. The home side laid siege to the Blues try line and a superbly judged pass from McKenzie sent Rona through a gap in the defensive line for the first try of the game. Network television exposure on NBC, along with a first-place prize of $150,000, makes the celebrity tournament one of the most prestigious in the golf world.
