The Philadelphia Eagles are parting ways with iconic Pep Band after 28 years
The roster of the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles has experienced considerable turnover. Key players who contributed to the title run have exited via free agency or trades. The movement is not limited to only to active players.
In somewhat stunning NFL news, after 28 years, the team has told its iconic pep band that it will no longer be part of home games at the Linc. The folks who made "Fly Eagles Fly" a legendary experience at home games have been dismissed.
'We're not bitter,' Bobby Mansure, who co-founded the Eagles Pep Band, told the Philadelphia Inquirer. 'It's been glorious. Super Bowls and being on the field and meeting families and players and friends. We walk away with a smile on our face.'

A longtime sports media person in the City of Brotherly Love disagreed with this call.
The Pep Band was much more than just performing at Eagles games. It became part of the fabric of Philadelphia gatherings on many platforms. It had played more than 500 wedding receptions.
The Eagles stated they want to evolve their in-game experience. They already have a DJ at the Linc. This instance feels like two steps back. You can replace a Milton WIlliams or C.J. Gardner Johnson, but you can't fill the void created when you eliminate what the Pep Band meant to the fans in Philly at Eagles games.

He declined. And it's not like Bradshaw has love for Rodgers. It was less than a week ago when the Steelers legend said, 'That guy needs to stay in California. Go somewhere and chew on bark and whisper to the gods out there.' There's no doubt Bradshaw wouldn't offer consent, and maybe even less doubt that Rodgers would want to wear Bradshaw's number anyway. So if you're going to make a fake image of Rodgers in a Steelers jersey, pick another number. 'None of this will work, even if Rogers does buy-in, which I'm skeptical of. "Rodgers, who turns 42 in December, led the Jets to a 5-12 mark in his only full season in New York. Don't forget (Jets fans won't) that he missed all but four plays of the 2023 campaign after rupturing his Achilles on the first drive of the first game after joining the team two offseasons ago," I wrote on June 5. "Last season should be one to forget for Rodgers. He finished below the league average in passer rating - a stat of which he's the all-time career leader, and 31st in the league in QBR - behind names like Aidan O'Connell and Kirk Cousins. "His five wins last season are his lowest win total since 2017, when he played just seven games for Green Bay and posted a 4-3 mark. Rodgers' previous low win total was six, which he posted three times since taking over as the Packers' starting quarterback in 2008." We won't know for sure until after the season starts, but Steelers fans can only hope they get the Packers version of Rodgers and not the guy who played for the Jets last season. After being selected by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft, Conley spent four seasons in Kansas City. During his first stint from 2015 to 2018, he battled injuries and was in and out of the starting lineup. He notably played during the transition from Alex Smith to Patrick Mahomes at quarterback, missing out by a season on becoming a Super Bowl champion. He made stops with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans, and 49ers. He briefly had a second stint with the Chiefs in 2022 on the practice squad.
